Most Helpful Positive Review Suprisingly Effective Little Gadget I have very coarse, thick, wavy hair. I have only ever used a flat iron before. When I bought this I was actually shopping for a replacement for my awesome, but 16+ year old flat iron. I bought this on whim, because honestly, the price. I even asked the Ulta associate about their return policy because I was sure this tiny thing wouldn't work in my giant, poofy, frizzy hair. I was 98% sure I was returning it. Now, as another reviewer said this will not really straighten you hair if you have A LOT of hair, although it did better than expected, but it would make wavy hair pretty smooth. It's not going to give you flat iron results. It also didn't really turn my ends under the way I like. What it did do, and what I actually bought it for was to straighten a terrible cowlick that I have on one side of my head that kinks up over night no matter how satiny or silky my pillowcase is or how careful I am to not sleep on that side of my head. The first morning that used this I had a particularly tossy-turny night of sleep and my hair was a complete mess. I thought it was going to be a ponytail day. But this little thing straightened out all the kinks and left my hair looking like the day before when it was freshly ironed. I'm actually really glad I purchased this and I almost wish I'd purchased the full size unit, but this works just fine. Especially for the price point. At the same time that I bought this I bought a pretty pricey flat iron that was a huge disappointment and will be getting returned. So the $30 little brush beat out the $150 Pro flat iron.
Most Helpful Critical Review It's Okay I have seen similar straightening brushes advertised for years but never tried one until now. I have however used the original instyler in the past and it worked well. For reference I have African-American hair that is chemical free (no perm), but I always wear it straight (pressed). So normally I blow dry it and then use a flat iron to straighten it. I used this brush in a few scenarios. The first time I used it after my normal routine of shampoo, condition, and blow dry. Which means my hair was somewhat straight but not bone straight like I prefer. It worked okay for that. This is not a flat iron so it will not give you the same affect. But it could work if you don't want your hair to be completely straight but you still want it somewhat smoothed out. The second time i used it was after I flat ironed it normally and went to the gym a few days later. I used the brush around my edges and the nape of my neck where my hair started to revert back due to moisture. This is where I feel it works the best. You are able to get close to your scalp and not burn your skin. It still doesn't get completely straight but it didn't bother me because I knew I would have the same issue the next time I went to the gym. It heats up fast but It only has one heat setting (400 degrees) so I think that is why it doesn't completely straighten my hair. I like that it has a smaller profile and would be perfect to travel or pack in you gym bag. Overall, I would recommend it for touch ups but not to completely straighten your hair.

Great brush, small yet very effective, light and easy to use. I use it to "blow out" my hair as well.
Does a good job of straightening my hair. 4

This mini straightening brush does a good job of straightening my hair. I do have to go over the same spot 2-3 times. I wish it had more than one heat setting.
So happy I bought this 5

Great purchase! Love the mini. I have wavy hair and this made my hair look and feel so soft! Never going back to the flat iron again! It doesn't get extremely hot which I like but still gets the job done. Highly recommend!

I bought two of these within the past month, and both have been defective. The first one worked at first, then, after about two weeks, it just stopped turning on. The second one didn't work right out of the box. As you can imagine, I've given up on this product for good. I love the other In Styler product that I own, but this one is a big disappointment.
This actually works pretty well 5

I bought this for my daughter she's almost 13 with kinky curly hair. This works great, being a hairstylist I wanted something that was easy for her to do herself. This works great for her to smooth her hair and I don't have to worry about her burning herself
A must for short hair 5

My hair straightening days are over. You can easily do blow out like styles for short to medium hair length. Buy it. I'm in love with mine
I want to love this, but... 2

I want to love this hot brush because when it's on, it does a great job. Perfect for second day smoothing and even an initial straightening if you're willing to put in the time to do it in SMALL sections per the directions. But, I would much rather see a toggle switch because the power button is right under the spot your finger rests while you're using it. My big problem, though is that the unit keeps turning itself off. I can't make it stay on long enough to do anything more than the hair around my face. Super frustrating! Unfortunately, I bought it right before March when life as we knew it stopped and returns weren't possible. I see some reviews that mention the power issue, but others don't. I would buy it again if I knew this issue had been fixed, but I'm not willing to drop any more money on a chance.
I would not buy this product 1

The directions did not say it only heats at 400 degrees, much to hot for hair
Worth it 4

I bought this and love it. It straightens without giving a dry look. I used this in combination with the Rusk heat protectant serum and the two together are unbeatable. I ran it through my already straightened hair from a flat iron, and it gave it a healthier look with a bit more body.
Works ok for medium to long hair 4

This is handy to have for travel and quick touch ups. Not as thorough as a straightening iron, but probably wouldn't damage hair as much. I like that you don't really feel heat on your scalp when you use it, but it does a decent job of smoothing and straightening (after a couple of passes) thick hair.
Works well!!🧡 5

I can't get my hair straight when I do it myself
Plus my hair over processed and I really don't like flat ironing. I let my hair air dry then I simply made small sections brush it straight. I was so happy
I ordered a second for my daughter. I got her the big one. I have the mini
Thank y'all omg I'm so happy
Makes my hair smooth! 4
Fine Hair Barb from Hudson, Ohio
I am impressed at how easy this is to use. It makes my hair so smooth and frizz free. I would have given it five stars if it had a temperature control. I have to use it right away on my fine hair or it gets too hot.
Love mine 5

I was skeptical at first and honestly didn't like it. I purchased in hopes of retiring my flat iron. I had to get used to it but once I did, I loved it. I have thick, coarse, frizzy hair but it does a good job straightening and takes me about 1-2 passes to get my hair nice and smooth. The ends aren't stick straight as it would be with a flat iron so if you're looking for that, then this isn't for you.
This is cute and, it works. 5

SOOO Good! I used it the first day to touch up the previous day's style and it made it smooth and shiny in just a few passes. The next time I did my WHOLE HEAD (a have a lot of hair past my shoulders). By far the fastest, easiest tool I own.
Works great for my hair 5
Stacy J from Roseville, CA
If you have thin, wavy to straight hair this is a great tool. The size and price are good for at home use and travel. Don't know if it would work for thicker or curly hair though.
Yes I would definitely I love all the items 5

I do like the size of the mini, but it's not as effective as any of the rotating irons. I suppose it's better than nothing, but I'm not so impressed.

Great for short hair! 5

Heats up quick. Easy and fast to use. Easier for me to get the back of my head. Hair feels better than when using a straightener.
