I wanted to try this for my bottom lash line and I was not disappointed. It stayed out all day and didn't budge at all! And with the Arizona heat rising up to 90-100 degrees, it still didn't budge. And I have oily skin too. I wore this on my waterline and it was gone less than an hour later. I tried it on my bare upper lid and it smudged before my 8 hour work day was over (and I work in an office, so no excuse there). Finally, today I tried it layered over my eye primer, and yep...dark smudges under my eye and a bit of product gooped up at the corner of my outer eye (and that never has happened with any other brand of liner). I can't imagine that this would stand up to a hard workout if it can't make it through a regular office day. To make matters even worse, the liner itself seemed a little dry...I had to rub the product against my hand to get it moving across my lid. I use it in my waterline and then use the included brush end to make a small flick and subtle cat eye shape. This eyeliner makes my eyes water slightly at first. I've found that short strokes followed by a blink help reduce irritation when applying. Once it is on, it doesn't smudge on my contacts, which is major. This eyeliner is almost too smudgeable, though. It does stay put once set, after about 20-30 seconds, but my complaint is how far it can travel before being set. Like, travels to bottom lid or smears out to greyness. I recommend drawing your line and waiting at least ten seconds before smudging so the color doesn't go everywhere. Like the name suggests, it survives a tough workout! I do like the non-toxic and nourishing ingredients.
