Most Helpful Positive Review FINALLY! Tested over 30 sunscreens at Sephor/Ulta It has been so, so difficult to find a reef safe sunscreen with this texture. Be aware-- a lot of sunscreens that label themselves as "reef safe" still contain ingredients like octocrylene because the research on their toxicity has only come out so recently. This is a non-nano mineral sunscreen, that goes on matte and sheer. I was trying reef safe brands like Coola, Sunbum, Blue Lizard, and none of them had this light, smooth, matte texture. I used to use Shiseido, Supergoop, and Algenist's sunscreen, but stopped because nearly all of the major brands contain oxybenzone or octinoxate. I really really love this sunscreen. It does not leave a white cast for me (I have olive skin) and it was not hard to rub in at all. Honestly TRUST ME try this out it will save you so much time and headache trying to find a face sunscreen while trying to be environmentally conscious.
Most Helpful Critical Review NEVER BUY THIS PRODUCT IF YOU ARE POC I would give this sunscreen 0 stars, even a negative star if I could. This was the worst sunscreen I have ever used. It left a thick purple cast (not even a white cast), a purple cast on my face. I have medium tanned skin so it was very apparent. The fragrance was also very overwhelming. I felt like I was rubbing perfume on my face. Please please please don't get this, I have no idea what the other reviews are saying when they are praising this product, it is the absolute worst.

Full Coverage Protection 5
Bjen from Illinois
This sunscreen is T H I C K and will leave a whitish film, but offers GREAT protection from the sun. I burn SO easily and used this when I went to Jamaica in winter (very light skin) and did not have any issues with burns. I now use this on my water babies all summer long
Wish this came in unscented version! 2
LL68 from Georgia
This would be a nice sunscreen if it were unscented. I have mature skin and this formula was a bit too drying for me. Will be returning unfortunately.

I wish the cream did not leave a film on your face

I'm very pale and burn easily and this definitely protected me from the sun! Put it on and immediately went in the pool and did not need to reapply, stayed on just fine. However it goes on thick and will stay white if you're not careful to rub it in fully. Later had to shower twice and exfoliate to get it off.
Good for Skin 5
Lynna from Los Angeles
Love product - healthy for skin - use 3-4 times a week
Not greasy, and great for face as well 5
L from Oregon
I LOVVEE this product, it's a very creamy formula so it soaks into the skin and doesn't leave a oily film on your skin. It's great for all over the body including the face. I have very oily and acne prone skin so using this on my face didn't break me out and it left a matte finish which LOVE!!!
Shame about the fragrance 3
Leah with sensitive skin from Milwaukee
I loved everything about this sunscreen except the fragrance. It was so strong my allergies could not tolerate it. So, I had to return it. If they made a fragrance free version of this I would buy all of them.
Great mineral sunblock 5
BeccaEm from Boston, MA
This doesn't feel like heavy, greasy sunblock to me. It does feel a bit powdery when it's almost-to-totally dry on the skin, but I'm sure that's the zinc. I love that it has green tea, cucumber, and shea butter in it.
I don't like it because it makes my face white. 3

Don't like it because it makes my face white. Your other one had a tint to it and I loved it. I guess you don't make that anymore.
Great eco friendly sunscreen 5

A great dupe 4

I am obsessed w/sunscreen & have been for 15 years- back in the mid '00s there was little to choose from w/regards to mineral sunscreen. My holy grail has been Elta MD;works wonderfully but their pricepoint is a little sily, esp. if you use it as much as recommended. I bought this during a sale- a few days later i ordered 10 more! There is a cast, but not as opaque as most other non tinted brands- the cast has a slight bluish hue which actually isn't terrible & helps cover redness. I don't notice any scent although it's mentioned half way through the ingredient list. It settles into a satin finish & make-up applies nice over the top. Even if i paid full price i'd still be happy- i gave 4 stars as i think both zinc oxide & titanium oxide are a little low in concentrations. If you'd prefer a tinted sunscreen ULTA's mineral lightly tinted SPF 30 is amazing- i bought 10 of those too!
LOVE this! 5

i bought the tinted spf in this brand and in Babo, but all were too dark for me so I gave them to my daughters. this untinted formula is pale enough for me, and I love it. it blends into my fair skin perfectly. i hope it is never discontinued. i used pacifica setting spray to keep it from transferring.
I Love the Smell 5
Micki3 from Sacramento CA
I bought a product lotion similar to this and it was quite expensive. The other product did blend in a little better as far as not looking so white, but for half the price I took a chance in this Ulta sunscreen cream. I like to use more of these types of products with the zinc and titanium in the product when I go to fairs, to the horses or gardening. The combination blocks the sun pretty well. I love the smell of this cream!!! I can't tell if it smells like coconut, but it does smell something like the beach!!
I love it 5

okay, so I bought this in store last summer because I realized that I should probably have been wearing sunscreen on my face for how much I am outside in the warmer months of the year. So I bought this. This is not specifically a facial lotion, but I use it as one of my daily steps. I haven't noticed any sort of white cast unless I don't rub it in well enough. I like the finish, it's not oily or sticky and it sinks into my skin really well. I personally do not mind the scent of it. I didn't even realize that it was that strong until I read some of the other reviews. That being said, I can understand how it may be a little to much for certain people. I wear this almost every day, with my makeup, or more ofter without, and I love it. Its not heavy or greasy. I put it on and forget it's there. I definitely would recommend this.
Too much perfume 3
BG3368 from Detroit
This is a fairly standard mineral sunscreen. Rubs in ok. It will have a white cast, because it is a mineral sunscreen. I would like this better if it didn't have such a strong perfume-y scent. The fragrance is simply overwhelming to me. I will use this up, but I won't repurchase unless they put out a fragrance-free option.
Smells great, goes on well, not heavy and feels wonderful 5

Found my forever sunscreen
Disappointed 2
Debi from MD
I read the reviews prior to purchasing, but since I love the Ulta Tinted Mineral Face Lotion SPF 30, I thought I would give this a try for using on my body. The ingredients between the two are really similar, but this product has a bit more noticeable coconut smell than the face one. This one also has a higher percentage of the zinc oxide and titanium dioxide, and unfortunately leaves a white cast on me, even on my light complexion. For some reason, I have a little bit of an irritating feel on my skin after applying as well. After a few hours, I just washed it off, and will continue to look for a better body sunscreen.
didn't agree with my skin type 2
YogaSwimWalk from Virginia
I bought this for my face, but the scent is noticeable enough that I decided to only use it on my neck. I used it for several weeks. It feels like it has a powdery finish and I wasn't bothered by the scent when it wasn't close to my nose. I'm pretty pale and the white cast was obvious unless I spent extra time rubbing it in.
The final deal breaker for me is that I developed an itchy rash on my neck a few minutes after putting this on today. . :(

Wasn't for me 2

I have a slightly oily t zone and it would make my nose even more oily! It also leaves a white cast no matter how much you rub it in
Love & reef safe! 5
SoberBeauty from Riverside, CA
Used this first time on a whale watching trip-6 hours of straight sun torture! I'm super fair and this worked great for me and my whole family. I was excited to buy reef-safe products and will repurchasing. Thank you Ulta for caring about the ocean and providing an affordable, effective product! Very happy!
Do not buy 1
Packerfan from Green Bay
The lotion is white when you put it on and you have to really rub it in well to get rid of the white. Your skin looks white after it is rubbed in. It dries out your skin right away. Your skin actually looks and feels very dry. I've never had a sunscreen do this. I am returning it for a refund. I would not recommend this product.
A dupe for brand names sunscreens 5
Fay from Virginia
I got it on a whim, for 50% off and I regret I didn't grab another, contains natural ingredients and Maine thing made of Titanium dioxide and zinc oxide, sulfate and paraben free.Very good protection with spf50 and the price range is very affordable comparing to Coola and other mineral sunscreens that can range from 30 to 60$ , it leaves a white cast as any mineral sunscreen but it's very hydrating and smells amazing . I'm so thankful for such a product
Great except for one thing... 3
Karen from Springdale, AR
Great UVA/UVB protection; gentle but effective mineral-based texture and the smell is not bad - like coconut - but STRONG! Why, Ulta? Would have been a 5-star product if the scent had been dialed back a notch or 3.
