Most Helpful Positive Review Very Impressed! This moisturizing sunscreen is extremely effective. I have melasma - a common condition that causes discoloration on the face that only improves when exposure to the sun is limited. I've used many facial sunscreens and can actually tell which ones provide better coverage because the spots on my cheeks fade. I've used this product for a few weeks now and my melasma is almost not visible. This is a wonderful high content zinc oxide sunscreen that is amazingly less chalky, pasty, and white than products that contain a comparable amount of zinc oxide (which is hands down the most effective and safe sunscreen ingredient). It also includes antioxidants. If you are a woman who wants to fade your melasma or protect your face from aging due to sun damage this product is unbeatable.
Most Helpful Critical Review Will not repurchase I really wanted to love this product. I am trying to make the switch to organic, and I had read a lot of good reviews about this product. However, I found that when I used it, my skin didn't immediately absorb it, I really had to work it in. My skin felt greasy after using it, much like if I just put regular sunscreen on. (I realize the product contains sunscreen, but I have used facial moisturizers with sunscreen before that didn't give me the same effect). About halfway through the day, I would find that my makeup was separating, and not really sticking to my face, almost like the moisturizer was a barrier between my face and my makeup. The bottom line is, I personally would not repurchase this product. I may keep it for the summer, for when I go to the lake or swimming, but not for my daily makeup routine.

I have very sensitive, acne-prone skin and I am usually nervous to try new products. My favorite daily sunscreen is Mychelle Liquid Skin Tint SPF 50, however they were out of stock and I gave this a try. I need oil free because anything with coconut oil destroys my face. While this product is a bit thick and does leave a bit of a white cast, its absorbs quickly and any remaining white cast blends in with my fair complexion. If you have darker skin, this may not work too well for you. Due to the fact that this is also a moisturizer, it hydrates well and is perfect for my dry skin. So far (about two weeks of use), I have not noticed any skin irritation or break outs. It also sits nicely under mineral makeup. If you have very oily skin, this could potentially make it more oily. While this will not replace the Mychelle sunscreen, I plan to use this product during dry winter months and switch to Mychelle in the summer.
Thick, heavy and caused breakouts. 1
ELM92 from Florida
Bought this because it's one of the few Juice Beauty products that doesn't contain lemon and that has a decent amount of SPF. The consistency is so thick, more like a stand alone SPF, not a moisturizer with SPF. I wanted to like this product but after a week of use this made my combination skin irritated and caused breakouts. I truly hated how this felt on my skin. Sadly I had to return this to the store. What a waste.
No I would not buy it again 1

Used it for a few days but did not like it
I wish I could return it 2

I asked for a good daily sunscreen that wouldn't make me a greaseball and this was recommended to me by an employee. It may say "oil-free" but it definitely feels oily. I don't have oily skin but after wearing this for about an hour oil is practically dripping off of me. It also goes on pretty white and takes a bit of time to rub in to not look like a ghost. I am not buying this again or recommending it to anyone. I gave it two stars because I do like how it smells.
Formula change? 2

This has been my go to for YEARS. The last two tubes o purchased were not the same as I've been purchasing all these years. It doesn't rub in smoothly anymore, smells like old chemicals, and makes my skin so greasy. I used to love this stuff.
Best chemical-free moisturizer with SPF 5
Tiffany from Los Angeles
I only want to use SPF moisturizer without chemicals that could affect hormones. This one fits the bill! Yes it is a bit more pasty but that's because it is chemical-free. The white tint goes away on my light-medium complexion. It also helps to know where I've applied and which areas are missing SPF.
BAD 1
ari from NJ
i tried to use every morning but it takes a ridiculous amount of time to absorb, it smells bad and leaves my face all white, I switched to drmtlgy's sunscreen, which is lightweight and has better ingredients
Not for me 2
Lettmeb from Redlands ca
It was a little too thick and pasty for me. I prefer something thinner
Ok but not great 3

This sunscreen leaves a big white cast for me and i have light skin. Its also very greasy. Once it does sink into the skin though my skin feels nice and soft.
Best chemical-free sunscreen 5

No chemicals is key to me. This is the perfect moisturizer & sunscreen. It's only active ingredient is 20 % zinc oxide which provides full protection against UVA & UVB rays. This product is super moisturizing, does not leave a white residue, it's not sticky and most importantly it does not make me break out! A little goes a long way. It feels thick & heavy at first and a bit white due to the zinc oxide, however, if you wait a few minutes after applying and thoroughly massaging it in, the heavy feeling goes away and provides a nice base for makeup. Leaves your skin feeling glowy.
Couldn't take the smell 2
HilZ from Jacksonville, FL
The white cast wasn't that bad as other reviewers noted. However, the overly earthy smell was too much for me personally. Wore once and decided to return. If earthy smells are your thing, this may be perfect for you though 🤷🏼♀️
Works for me 5

I'm not surprised some people don't like this sunscreen. It's thick, doesn't spread well and might leave a white or grayish cast. If these are your concerns, then I would look for another sunscreen.
However, this is one of the few mineral sunscreens that works for me. I try to stick to mineral sunscreens since it's better for the environment, but a lot of them break me out or get too oily. This one doesn't do either. It has a herbal smell, which doesn't bother me. I wouldn't use this as a moisturizer but as a sunscreen, which makes it easier to spread since I put on a moisturizer before it. It feels thick at first but dries down to a matte layer. I haven't used it under makeup so not sure how it performs in that regard.
Great for oily skin! 5

I started using juice beauty for the anti-blemish serum, and I loved how that felt on my skin. So I added this product as I was unhappy with my other spf moisturizer. I understand the need for spf daily, but I really dislike the feeling of so many layers on my face during the day. This feels clean and not greasy like most other brands I've tried. When I do get shiny later in the day it looks more dewy now than oily. I still blot shine occasionally, but overall I really like this product. It does have a white cast but using a smaller amount helps with that. I don't notice the complaint I've read about where you have to tug at the skin to apply. I just rub my fingers together with product on them and pat onto my face blending lightly. I use it over the blemish clearing serum and under my foundation.
Wouldn't buy again 2

It's too thick, hard to spread on face.
And it won't last long
Not buying again 2

I love JB products and own many of them. Not buying this one again. I have light brown skin. The product does not blend in well. My face gets ashy, with a white border close to my scalp. Its a good sunscreen though, but it melts away when im running (sweating). I also dont feel that it moisturizes well or at all.
Leaves the skin looking white 3

I love JB and I both this product even after I read the negative reviews. It truly leaves the skin looking white and does not blend even after hours of wearing. would not recommend.
This ones a keeper 4

I'm 58 and always had oily skin, as I get older not so oily but still quite slick on those humid, summer New England days. I used a more emollient SPF in the winter, and have been trying to find a more lighter weight lotion for the summer months...I have found it in this product. At first use I observed the product as thick and hard to spread. BUT I was shocked to see when I finished the application, the product was light on my skin, absorbed, and left a beautiful 'barely there' result on my skin. It most certainly protects my skin from burning as well. This product moves to the front of the line on my vanity!!!
No grease, mild cast, FANTASTIC block 5
Ploums from FL
I use this for everyday FL-living on my face and chest. With about a pea size on my face and 2 peas on my chest, I have yet to get the notorious Florida freckles, and my skin is oddly looking prettier?? I guess I forgot that it's a moisturizer too lol. It is an effective block, stays on surprisingly well, but does sweat off after a couple hours of gardening in 90F heat. If you use more than a pea, the cast will not fade fast. Expect to be pale-ish for a good hour before it disappears. But wow so good for my skin, and definitely effective. Mychelle burned me, and Neutrogena is greasy. I still prefer R+F's old formulation of their Unblemish Oil-Control SPF (mineral) because it was mattefying, but they changed the formula to chemical blocks so no thanks.
I would recommend this sunscreen. 5
Cynthia P. from California
The formula is not oily. And it does not leave a white cast.
White cast 3
Smartys11808 from Florida
It does the job and goes on thick but the white cast is so overwhelming I feel like Casper the ghost every time I wear it. Even under makeup :(
It's pretty okay 3
Ali from Warner Robins, Ga
I love the way it feels on my skin. It is very thick. It unfortunately leaves a white caste on my face though, no matter how little you use. It looks like I rubbed spf all over my face
smells bad but still decent 4
natalia from california
If you want your face to smell like tomatoes then this is the perfect product for you. The smell is strong at first but diminishes after a few minutes. It leaves a white cast so unless you have pale skin or you plan on wearing foundation on top I would not recommend it. It is decent but not worth splurging on again.
White cast 2
Crystal Gut from Texas
Did not like it at all. The smell was over powering and not fond of it. Super white cast and I feel like I'm tugging on my skin hard just to blend it in.
Couldn't get passed the smell 1
Nicole from San Diego
I love using SPF moisturizers before putting my makeup on however the smell of this product was awful. I could not get passed the smell of it, it was so strong and irritated my skin as well. I saw good reviews about it but i dont know how.
One of the best 5
Alexandra from CT
I love juice beauty and decided to give this a try because it's less expensive than the my other mineral sunscreens. What stands out with this is it feels more moisturizing than my others. Yes there is a slight white cast (just like every mineral sunscreen has) but embrace that because that's what is protecting your skin from the sun. Works great under foundation and concealer as well
