Most Helpful Positive Review The answer to my hair prayers! Whenever I got a haircut that I really loved, I was never able to recreate the look. That is, until I purchased the Rusk Speed Freak blowdryer!!
I was never able to achieve sleek, shiny, frizz-free hair without getting my hair professionally styled. When I styled my hair at home before buying the Speed Freak, I very, very rarely used my blowdryer and just let my hair air dry prior to straightening it. Because of this, my hair would frizz up and my layers would become quite obvious within hours after being straightened. Out of frustration, I stopped styling/straightening my hair altogether and wore it in pony tails, buns, or just naturally with mousse or gel every day. All of the dryers I have used in the past (from drugstore to high end brands) have all disappointed me. It would take me at least an hour to dry my hair by myself, then an additional 30 minutes to straighten. And who the heck has that much time to dedicate to styling their hair?
*In comes the Rusk Speed Freak*
Wow -- I am ABSOLUTELY in love with this hairdryer. Before I decided to buy it, I spent months contemplating and researching which dryer would be best since so many in the past have left me just disappointed, with frizzy hair, and an empty wallet. I just used it for the first time yesterday on a time crunch, and my hair was completely dry and styled in 30 minutes total! I was AMAZED! My hair remained shiny and frizz-free all night last night, and looked just as good when I woke up today (that ONLY happens after I get my hair done professionally!!). I was admiring my hair this morning and thought, "wow my hair looks awesome, I'll never be able to get it to look like this again," but remembered that I did this myself! To be able to give myself a salon-quality blowout is such a nice feeling.
I wholeheartedly recommend this to anyone and everyone who has difficulty drying and styling their hair - this dryer makes it a breeze! :o)
Most Helpful Critical Review Damaged my hair This did dry my very thick, long hair super duper fast! It has a ton of air flow and heat. The problem was that it damaged my hair in just a couple of weeks use. Even at lower heat. It took me a year to get my hair nice and healthy, and a couple of weeks to undo it with this dryer. I would not recommend this if you have fragile, coarse or dry hair. If you have baby soft or fine, thin hair, it might be ok. Mine tends to frizz easily and just didnt like this dryer. I needed something with pampering ions (this didn't do enough).

I usually get the cheapest blow dryer, but decided to splurge and I'm glad I did. This is worth every penny. It blow dries my hair in hair the time. It also feels very nice in the hand.
Do not recommend this hair dryer if you have coarse hair 1

I have natural curly frizzy hair...and let me tell you...after I blow dried my hair I didn't have to flat iron my hair...and that's a first!!!
Pretty good dryer 4
Michelle from Central Texas
Does a good job drying, cuts the time in half. Dryer seems heavier than others and the buttons need to be re-designed. I'm constantly adjusting the speed and temp when holding it in my right hand.
Fantastic for thick hair!! 5

I purchased this about a year ago in black, I really wanted to test it before I wrote a review. This is absolutely amazing! I have extremely thick curly hair and when I used to let it air-dry overnight it would still be wet when I woke up. Other hairdryers would take me 1.5-2 hours to dry my hair completely, using this it only takes me between 15-30 minutes depending on the length of my hair. I recently had 20" tape in hair extensions and it would only take me 30-45 minutes to get my hair and the tape-ins completely dry from scalp to ends. It's so easy to use that if you brush while drying you won't need to use a straightener after so this is less damaging because you only expose the hair to heat once instead of twice. The only downside is that it is a bit heavy but I just see it as a small arm workout.

Not one to ever write reviews but I just love this blowdryer so much. I always flat iron my frizzy wavy hair just to make my life easier and thats been very damaging. My hair also usually takes at least 30 minutes to dry with any hairdryer before that. This blowdryer has changed my life, now I can dry and style it in 20 minutes and it comes out so soft! 10/10 recommended

The power and temps on this dryer are fine. But, the roller mechs to turn on power and adjust the temps are really difficult to use.
My first expensive hair dryer and WOW 5
Shenaja from Dallas, TX
This hairdryer is great, I have extremely long hair all the way down to my waist and it's pretty thick. The hairdryer I had before was your standard drugstore brand and a few years old. I never knew a hairdryer could be this good, my hair was literally dry in a handful of minutes. It was so fast that I honestly didn't believe it was dry and I kept touching my hair after expecting it to still be wet. Besides the speed, I didn't have any issue with it being too powerful, it didn't blow my hair around/tangle it up near as much as my old one. My husband likes it because it's a lot quieter. Plus several people at work commented my hair looked "different but good" like they couldn't figure why it looked better but it did. Which since I didn't style it besides drying it. Overall I'm in love and want to find a straightener of this brands too.
Broke within 5 days 2

My hairdryer broke in about five days. Ulta is kind of far away and I had to drive 30 minutes to get to it and get my money back. Loved the hair dryer but I'm not getting another one.
Love it 5

I was able to have my hair so much more flatter in half the time than I would have with my old blow dryer which still left dry but still puffed out it made it much more easier to flat iron it

Best Hairdryer I have ever owned! 5

I always thought all hair dryers are the same until I bought this one. It dries my hair super fast and it has never looked more healthy than it does since I started using the Rusk dryer. I have been using it for 6 months and will never go back to any other brand.
Best blow dryer I've used. 5
Coco from Oklahoma
I have had this blow dryer for 9 years! I can tell the motor is starting to go out because it changes speed during use but it dries your hair fast, makes it sleek and shiny and again, it has lasted 9 years! I would highly recommend just for quality alone.
great blow-dry 5

Mama needs to dry her hair from Scranton, PA
I have long, thick hair that I wash and dry daily. I purchased this less than a year ago because I needed to be able to dry my hair quickly with a newborn at home. I felt the power going over the last few weeks and today it didn't work at all.
Not a good investment 2

Hair was smoking and blows too hard. Invest in the Dyson.
Damages and dries ends 1

After my Babyliss dryer broke, i purchased this maybe 3 years ago. I should have returned it after the first use as it made my hair dry and fizzy even when using a lower setting. I assumed maybe i wasnt blow drying my hair correctly or its the products what i used. I used it sparingly but now i realized it's the reason why i need to chop inches of my hair cut every few months. This dryer is too powerful for my 3c low porosity high density hair. I just tossed it and will be purchasing my a Babyliss Titanium blowdryer.
Very disappointed 1
Lisa from California
This worked well the first couple of months but I noticed that the power slower decreased afterwards. Now it's pretty weak and seems to be malfunctioning to where the speed goes high to low on its own. There have been several times that it emitted a burnt plastic smell and I had to turn it off in fear of it exploding. I am now in search of a new dryer. This dryer is way too expensive for the poor quality performance.
I love this hairdryer. 5

Cuts down on my dry time considerably.
Outstanding dryer. 5

I bought this in 2013. It is 6 years later and I still use it everyday. Just now I am starting to detect that slightly burnt smell that all blow dryers put our right before they croak. But this has been so great for all this time that I am picking up another one today with my 10$ off coupon. So happy it isn't discontinued.
Great dryer but doesn't last 3
magistra from San Antonio, TX
I really love this dryer. I've owned three of them! But, I'm giving up on them because they always break down within 24 months. Hoping I can find another high-end dryer that lasts longer.
You'll LOVE it, cannot go wrong. 5

This blow dryer will not disappoint. My previous dryer was a Rusk and was awesome. It lasted me 10-15 years easy. Great performance and super quick dry time.
The best I've used so far 5

Have bought this same product over a laps of 10+ years. Tried a different brand but had to come back to this one because of the power it has.
