Most Helpful Positive Review Best Zinc Oxide SPF I've ever found
I've been using this product as my spf moisturizer for over a year now. It is perfect.
I wanted to leave a review because, in reading some of these 1 star reviews, I see that people may not understand how zinc oxide SPFs work... They are always going to be thicker, a bit pastier than other moisturizers. They're not meant to be thin and glide on like other sunscreens or lotions. And that's a good thing. The thickness you feel is the protection the zinc oxide is providing your skin from the sun. You just have to be mindful of the amount that you use and how you apply it. Once I got the hang of it I have never dealt with streaky problems, and it works well as a primer for my face makeup. I can feel how protected my skin is. Love love love!
Most Helpful Critical Review Too thick, doesn't absorb.
Of course this will be different for everyone, but the sunscreen properties in this moisturizer are much too thick for me. It leaves a visible white residue and doesn't fully absorb, an hour after applying I notice clumping and just a feeling of thick product sitting on the surface of my skin. I've started thinning it out with a pump of the poreless oil free moisturizer so I can use this up before I choose something else. I got this as part of a trial size set so fortunately I didn't pay full price for the full size. But it has a nice herbal scent and would probably work better for someone with drier skin. Personally, I think a chemical sunscreen will work much better for me.

I have very sensitive and dry skin. It's very difficult for me to find a moisturizer that works. It was just too thick and too heavy on my face. The pump also kept getting stuck. I wouldn't purchase again but everyone's face is different.

I have been trying to find a mineral sunscreen for my face that is not cakey or leaves my face with a greasy white film. This sunscreen is perfect! It is so light weight and feels velvety on my face, blends completely in, and smells amazing. I think a lot of the negative reviews are from people who thought this was just a moisturizer and not a sunscreen. I have tried so many options for a face sunscreen and this is by far the best.
Moisturizer & sunscreen

I just wanted to leave a review, stating that at least for me, the film that people are talking about fades once the product has absorbed completely. I probably only use about 1 1/2-2 pumps. I take one pump, and tap it all over while the my fingers, then blend it out/rub it in. If I feel I need more, I will add a partial to another whole pump. Those that having issues with the product absorbing, may be using too much of it. After about 10-15min, I no longer see the moisturizer.
Face Never Looked So Good
ModocWalker from California
I have been using this product for two years now and I must say my face skin has never looked this good. I am 68 and have had some precancerous spots remove from my face. I am active out of doors and I now use this moisturizer daily and my skin does not suffer from tanning and I have not had a sunburn since. I have fewer wrinkles and much smoother skin. I find it does leave a slight white residue when you first apply, but it fades away rapidly. The benefits far outweigh this minor issue!

I love this moisturizer sunscreen! It goes on light and it evens out my skin tone which I love. It also adds a pretty shimmer to my face. I am sticking to this one for sure!
Please don't discontinue!

I am writing this review because I am really surprised by the negative reviews of this product. I have adult acne AND dry skin and I have struggled for years to find a product that works for my skin type. This product is amazing! I have used it every day for over a year now and will never use anything else. While the product is thick, it goes on seamlessly and acts almost like a clear foundation, masking the years of acne imperfections left on my skin. Since beginning with the product, I have ceased wearing the 1/4" of coverup that I was accustomed to for the last 20 years. I have recommended this product to 2 of my girlfriends who also swear by it now. I only hope that the company keeps the product despite the reviews.

I bought this wanting to try out a new moisturizer and was very disappointed. I really like the fact it has SPF 30 and is scent free! However, the moisturizer is very thick and I feel like I have to rub my face pretty rough for it to spread and soak in my skin. I also do not feel like my face is staying moisturized, but rather a little dry, causing it to be a little flaky in some spots. I do love the other skinongevity products, but this one isn't for me.
Like but don't love

The moisturizer without the spf works better under make up however on my true no make up days I like to wear this for the spf and it doesn't breakout my skin!
Great cream with physical SPF
Sharon Li from Irvine, C
It is really hard to find a face cream that has physical SPF an no artifical fragrance. I am allergic to artifical fragrance (FYI those are neuro toxins). I do not want chemical SPF as those bascially absorb sunlight and react to it, your hyperpigmtation can get worse beucase and your body absorbs the chemicals. Most of the face creams either have chemial SPF and no articial frangance or vice versa.
This cream moistruize well, the smell goes away very fast and does not bother me at all, which is consistent with the description that it is not articial. Pysical SPF will always leave a bit white film as that is how physical SPF works, it creats a barreal and refercts UV away.
Many negative reviews center on the fact that the cream creats a white film, do you research and you will understand that is how physical SPF works. If you spread it well, the film is not noticable. For people more concerned about a bare film than their health, they should choose a chemial SPF.
Not a fan!

I bought this moisturizer when it came out because I love the serum. This moisturizer is thick and leaves a white cast on the skin. My Original foundation looked horrible the day I used this moisturizer. I wish I had returned it but I lost the receipt.

I always look for a moisturizer with SPF but this is more like a thick sunscreen. Left my skin (already fair) white and did not feel moisturized at all. Disappointed and luckily received as a gift so I'm not out $$. Hate to waste it so I'll try adding some serum or vitamin E oil to it.
Erica from Mississippi
This product does not blend into my skin at all and leaves it completely white. If you try to blend in the product it just becomes clumpy and eventually you'll end up washing it off. Don't bother.
love this spf

I really like this sunscreen. it's Important to note that I have fair skin, so I cannot comment on how it preforms on darker skin tones. my first bottle of this came in the set with the serum and overnight gel. after gently cleansing my face in the morning, I apply ONE pump of the serum into my hand and work it into my skin. the directions say to use 1-2 pumps of the moisturizer, but if you are using it for sun protection you need about a quarter of a teaspoon for it to be effective. that being said after I work just the one pump of serum into my skin, I put two more pumps in my hand then add maybe 4-5 pumps of the moisturizer mix it together then apply. I use this time to give myself a little 2-3 minute facial massage. at this point I will have just the slightest white cast but after waiting 5 mins or so my skin absorbs it and there's not a trace of it visible anymore. my only complaint is I wish it were in a squeeze tube, as I feel like this packaging must waste a good amount of product. I reccomend this to at least fair skin folks and I will buy a third bottle after this second one is gone.

After hearing so many good things about this, I figured I'd try it, and I am completely disappointed. Due to it being mineral sunscreen instead of chemical, it leaves an awful white cast over my face and leaves my skin feeling sticky. I'm very fair, so the fact that this product can leave me looking even paler than I am is surprising. Another negative is the ingredient list. For being a natural product, it's littered with skin irritants including fragrance and limonene. I don't recommend, especially if you're any deeper than ghost white.

This is truly the best product I own. It's worth every penny.

Just dried out my skin and made me look even more pale (and I'm already a pale redhead)
Is there a way I can return or exchange? I do love other Baremineral products
HM1(SCW) from Dallas, TX
I was totally surprised by all the negative comments when I got on to order another bottle of this product. Yes, it can leave a little bit of white marks because it does have zinc which is thick. I wash my face first, then use a toner, let that dry, then apply this moisturizer and really rub it in. It's also important not to use too much...the directions state 1-2 pumps, which is plenty. I don't do anything special, just put the pump on my finger tips and start rubbing it on my face...almost like blending in my makeup, which helps get rid of any white marks. I love that it doesn't contain the toxic sunscreens that other brands use in their moisturizer.
Does not run into skin
KB from 95603
I wanted to love this moisturizer especially since it has SPF 30. The white hue from the SPF does not soak into skin at all, leaving you with white streaks that are so hard to blend in. I've tried warming the product in my hand before application yet nothing helps when applying this product.
I love this moisturizer!!

I bought this, by chance, and I'm so happy I did. A little background: I'm 57 and have always had break- outs and still do. This moisturizer has helped me so much. Please never stop making it!!
Not for brown skin
ladeeda from NC
I wanted to love this, but it left a grayish cast on my skin. I tried warming it in my hands and multitude of techniques but I finally just gave up because I shouldn't have to work this hard. I didnt have the flaking or any of the other texture issues as in other reviews, so I will pass it on to one of my friends with fair skin. Hopefully she will love it.
Not very moisturizing
CR from Portland, OR
The product makes skin feel soft, but it's not very moisturizing, which is ok since I mainly bought it for the SPF.
Not what I expected - especially for the price
KaRam from New Jersey
I bought this in replacement of my Mary Kay moisturizer. I wanted to love this product because I love Bare Minerals makeup. It does not spread easily on my face, left a white dry flaky film on my face which is really noticeable on tan skin and my combination, sensitive skin which glows after moisturizer looks dry and white. It has a pasty feeling and chalky consistency.
Not what I expected

I thought I just got a bad bottle, but after reading all these reviews I'm finding out that others are having the same issues. Not moisturizing at all. Created dry patches and left a thick white film.

I love Bare Minerals and have used their makeup since I was a teenager. I was excited to buy this product and use it. It left a white, thick, greasy film on my face and my skin was flaking all over. It was awful. I had to wash it off immediately.
Thick and pasty white

The zinc oxide in this product leaves a white film on my skin. I'm sure this is a great sunscreen if you're a lifeguard.
