Most Helpful Positive Review Great product! This lotion works wonders for dry skin! I have been using the lotion on my face and hands daily. Living in a colder climate, I apply the lotion to my face once a day and it keeps my face moisturized all day! I also apply the lotion to my hands after washing my hands and it has helped my dry, cracked skin improve greatly!
The lotion is yellow in color and has a chamomile scent to it. I was also very pleased to see that it was sent in eco-friendly packaging materials.
Overall, this is a great product and very effective in keeping my skin moisturized during these cold, winter months!
Most Helpful Critical Review I really wanted to love this. This seemed like a good basic moisturizer. It said free of synthetic fragrance, but parfum was listed at the bottom, which is low in concentration so I thought it would be fine.
When I first used it, it smelled like an essential oil addict had exploded on my face. Which I could have gotten past but I used this for two weeks and had to stop. Week one wasn't bad, I was beginning to break out and assumed it was something else, by week two my ENTIRE face was broken out into little bumps, blackheads, and pimples. My skin has not looked this bad in months.
Im assuming it was the fragrance in this.
If you have sensitive or acne prone skin, I would recommend not purchasing this. Not worth the risk of a bad break out.
Instead try a ceravae moisturizer, ceravae is typically my go to when another moisturizer is irritating or doesn't compare.
BOTTOM LINE: save your money if you have acne prone or sensitive skin. Stay clear of this!

This is a great every day moisturizer. It's not as THICK as the original, but still extremely hydrating. Consistency is good, doesn't leave a whitish cast once it seeps in.
It does smell weird when you cry shortly after putting it on.
Fragrance is overpowering 3
Juniper from Up North
This cream is very moisturizing. It goes on greasy but oiliness disappears once is blended into the skin. The only drawback is the smell. It smells herbal and it's just too overpowering for my sensitive nose. I wouldn't think about using this on my face or body. I only use it on my hands since I wash them often. Don't think I'll buy again. If only they'd tone the fragrance down or remove it altogether, it'd be an excellent product.
Greasy 3

I heard a lot of great things about skin food and was really excited to try it.
It doesn't really smell good and it's pretty greasy. It does leave the skin smooth and soft but it really just feels like petroleum jelly.

Repurchased Already 4

This is a perfect moisturizer for summer and winter skin! The smell is a bit much, but it dissipates quickly.
I use this 3-4 times a week as a night cream mixed with Isle of Paradise tanning drops.
Perfect summertime moisturizer 5
Sarah Clean Skin Stan from Richmond, Virginia
I use this moisturizer everyday multiple times a day, it's my lip balm, hand cream and go to for dryness. I prefer the original skinfood in the winter when my skin is drier and the light in the summer. Soothes sunburns, razor burn, any rash. This is a miracle worker and believe the Goop hype.
Not for my hyper sensitive skin 2
Victoria from TX
Wanted to try this after reading it was good for sensitive skin.... just not mine (hyper sensitive+dry) It left me SUPER oily even though I only used a pea sized amount each time. The smell is okay, kind of spa like, but I know has been a problem for me previously. First few days were okay, and now I am breaking out all over my face. Will use the same bottle for hand moisturizer until it runs out; not going to repurchase.
Another holy grail item! 5

If you love the original Skin Food, but feel like it's too thick, then the light version is for you! I religiously use the original version in cold weather, but I wanted something not as heavy in the summer. Just as moisturizing but not as heavy.
Loved it...at first. 3
Sayitaintso from Wa state
I absolutely loved this! But then, it broke me out so so bad. For some reason I assumed it would be great for my skin, but then I looked it up on cosdna.com and realized it was irritating my skin and the fragrance...not for sensitive skin! I'm giving it three stars though because it's great for my dry hands...but I won't repurchase for that alone.
Disappointed 2
El from Charlottesville, VA
I honestly thought this would be a winner for me looking at the reviews. As soon as I put it on my skin, it burned and itched. I tried it on by itself to make sure it was that and not something else, and unfortunately it was the moisturizer. I'm very disappointed in this. And apparently my skin has some sensitivity to it.
Perfect 5
Beams from Seattle WA
This product hydrates all day, layers well with other products and doesn't break me out! ( I am acne prone)
I really liked this 4
Mica1957 from Oklahoma
I have combination skin, so I bought the smaller size. Overall I really like it. I use it as a nighttime moisturizer and it hasn't bothered my sensitive skin at all! I think you can probably find it cheaper elsewhere because it seems like Ulta's prices are higher on some things, but overall I really liked it.
Love it! 5
Meyo from Lexington, NC
I have purchased so many face creams but none of them compare to Weleda Skin Food! Within a week of using it has helped my uneven skin tone as well as held in much needed moisture. I absolutely love it!
Smells good but leaves me greasy! 4
Brooke from Salt Lake City
I bought this product to add to my morning skincare routine, but for me it makes my skin too shiny! I switched it up and now use it as my nighttime moisturizer. I like the smell of it and a little goes a long way.
Another great Weleda product 4
Jamsandjellies from Minneapolis MN
Fan of the original Skin Food but find it best for nighttime use. This is a lighter version. Still rich and emollient with a similar fragrance that dissipates. Hands, feet, face - it pretty much softens and heals it all
The best face cream! Ever! 5
Anna from Canton MI
I suffered from dry skin, and hormonal acne. I tried dozens of moisturizers, and was left with a film of product that would sit ontop of my face, and would break out. Now this little gem of a cream soaked right into my face, left a natural glow, and guess what? No acne whatsoever! no dry skin whatsoever! I hope this stuff is around forever!
Pretty good stuff! 4
Paige from Missouri
I've been using this the past week or two as a morning moisturizer. I would definitely agree with other reviews that it's very hydrating. Plus, the price is right! The only reason for 4 stars is because it is a little sticky when applying.
This is what I have been needing for years! 5
Jami H from Hudson, Ohio
I LOVE this product so far! I have combination skin (oily in summer and very dry in winter) and i have been struggling to find something for my dry/flaky skin. I tried The Ordinary Hyaluronic acid for a couple days and unfortunately all it did was make my skin more dry. Then I tried this... and my skin has not been dry or flaky!!! The only complaint I have it the smell... not great but I will happily put up with it for how well this has been working so far. Also, It is a pretty heavy product compared to what I am used to so I was expecting it to cause breakouts but none so far. Very happy!
Wonderful lotion! 5
Lil B from Winston-Salem NC
I use this every night as a face cream. It's made a huge difference in texture of my skin.
Awesome 5
Cassandrak from ND
The skin food light is awesome!! Leaves me feeling very moisturized. Very light feeling, not to thick and greasy, which is great for the winter months! Smells great and makes me happy to put no my face knowing the ingredients are safe. BPA Free, Non -GMO, not tested on animals, Paraben free. I am all in!
Real moisture, no breakout 5
RockyMountainWinter from Denver
I have THE MOST SENSITIVE combination skin. I can't use any of the fun / fancy brands without crazy breakouts. Since I can remember I have to use CeraVe PM only and that works great most of the time, but it has flaws. So when a friend recommended this, I prepared for a breakout because it's SUPER thick. After testing on my chest, then neck, then cheek, I wasn't breaking out and I couldn't believe it. This is my new HG. I finally have something to get me through winter. I use it over my serums and it's a game changer. I wake up and my skin feels so soft and supple. My dry skin patches are gone. Just peeled right off after the first night. I'm still in shock. My skin has never been happier. It's like magic.
Hydrating 5
Nesh1500 from NewYork NY
This cream is very hydrating which is a plus. Works great for a make up base. My skin feels moisturized and healthy after use. The texture is thick but melts quickly into my skin so only a dime size is needed for application. Another pro about this cream is that it is natural and plant derived.
Weleda Skin Food 5
ddnlmathis from Chipley, Fl
The directions on this product state to "apply whenever and wherever skin needs immediate moisture". I would not recommend this product on the face as it leaves a greasy residue and led to a breakout on my chin and forehead the day after using it. It did, however, seem like it immediately hydrated the rough, dry patches that were my initial intended target. It should probably just be labeled a little more judiciously and not state it is good "wherever".
Great feeling and smelling moisturizer 4
Pitties and Kitties from Lakeland, FL
When my Welluda Skin Food Light Nourishing Cream arrived I was unsure of what to expect; it came highly recommended but I had never tried any of their products before so I was a little nervous. I was pleasantly surprised at the smell and feel..both of which were light and summery. I liked that it wasn't greasy and heavy.
Leaves skin refreshed 5

The Skin Food Original Ultra-Rich Cream has left my skin feeling and looking great. I use the Skin Food Original Ultra-Rich Cream after my showers and the cream does not leave a sticky residue. Within a week you can see the change in your skin.
