Shine Away Ionic Clay Mask

(22) REVIEWS

3.5 oz Item 2502292

This mineral-rich oceanic clay mask contains a negative electrical charge which acts like a magnet, helping to draw deep-rooted impurities out of the skin without drying. Its hydrating and oil absorbing properties leave skin soft, smooth and wonderfully cleansed.
Apply to cleansed skin. Smooth a generous layer of mask over the face and neck avoiding eyes. Leave for 10 minutes. Wipe Away excess mask with tissues and rinse with warm water. Use weekly.

Precautions: Avoid contact with eyes. If product gets into eyes rinse with water immediately.
Sea salt (Natural oceanic clay), Aqua (Water), Phenoxyethanol, Citric acid, Potassium sorbate, Benzoic acid, Dehydroacetic acid, Salix nigra (Willow) bark extract.

Giving Time

Comments about Botanics Shine Away Ionic Clay Mask:

I've only used this product once but I could lean either way on it. A couple negatives: 1. They need different packaging. Instructions for use should never be under a 'peel here' label, especially for something like a face mask. I didn't even see it until after I used it, and the Ulta instructions doesn't say that you need to shake it first so I didn't know to do that (this could be the cause of some of the redness, etc). It was very runny and thin because I didn't shake it, maybe the next use will be better with that knowledge. 2. This made my face incredibly red and hot immediately after removing, mostly in areas where I'm not that oily. I will probably only use this on my t zone in the future. Pros: 1. The redness went away after about a half an hour, so it doesn't bother me much. I just would only use this product at night before bed and I might try using cooler water to rinse it off. It didn't hurt at all, it was just bright red and warm. 2. My skin was very smooth and not as oily after use, once I got through the redness.

Mixed feelings

Comments about Botanics Shine Away Ionic Clay Mask:

So I got a free sample of this today with something's I bought. And I was excited I LOVE face mask. Now this can be super messy since it's a liquid so be careful, however I followed the directions on this but I couldn't leave it on no longer then 5 minuets on my forehead it burned so bad. But the rest of my face was fine so I left it the whole time it recommended. I will continue to use it on the rest of my face to see how I end up liking it just not my forehead unfortunately which is unusual since I don't have sensitive skin

First, the mask is extremely watery and messy so be careful with opening and applying it! Also, my skin is not sensitive to things at all and this is the first product where I ever had such a bad reaction. When I took the mask off my face was extremely red to the point where it looked like I outlined my face with a red marker. Would not recommend!

I have never had a reaction to any other beauty product in my life. I left this mask on for 5 minutes and my entire face is red and burning. I would be very careful using this mask.

Do not use if you have allergies to aspirin. Willowbark basically is nature's aspirin. I do not have aspirin reactivity to foods that contain/produce aspirin, but I went to the ER and am on a 4-day pack of steroids after using this product.
Please note that the packaging has no instructions and no health warnings. Unacceptable.

My skin needed a big refresh after switching birth controls and then also going on a not-so-health vacation. I had a load of items in my arms, and saw this toward the checkout line. I've been needing a good mask for so long, and nothing's been cutting it (or they're $40 and who needs that). I picked this baby up, used it that day, and VIOLA it was just what I needed! It helped to brighten me up, the oil is controlled, and my red patches were softened. I'm going to use this once a week to keep my skin happy. Do not use this too much or it'll dry out your face, as does any mask. Even, easy, smooth application, and it's buildable so you can add a little bit extra in your problem areas (T-zone I'm looking at you). Nice feel while it's on, natural ingredients, easy to take off.. the list goes on. Grab this!

I got this as a sample and let me start off by saying it is messy. The mask is watery. I was only able to apply a thin layer because of this. I left it on for 3 minutes and washed off the clay to see my entire face red. I threw the product away.
