Most Helpful Positive Review Changed my skin routine for the better!
Although it has a bit of a white cast, after about 5-10 min it soaks in nicely and has a great matte effect. I've been using this for a month now and I find I don't need to wear foundation anymore. The SPF 50 holds up great in dry and hot weather. I'd definitely recommend it! Great value!
Most Helpful Critical Review Terrible
I cannot use chemical sunscreen, so it's nice that mineral options for the face are getting easier to find. However, unlike its claim, this sunscreen does NOT dry clear when using the amount you're supposed to. It gives a severe white cast, does not apply easily or evenly, and stays excessively shiny. After an hour, my face felt itchy and parched. Makeup applies terribly, and once on there's severe settling into lines and pores. I've never looked so cake faced. I tried it for two days, and it broke me out. Maybe my body will like this better, but I'm never putting this on my face again. I'd rather pay more to get an actually decent product.

This made me look like a GHOST. If it's a face sunscreen at least don't make it so white neutrogena. You can't even go out in public like that.
Zink protection without the color
anonymous from Lansing, NY
The Zink Face Dry-touch sunscreen is thick and looks white coming out of the tube but as it is rubbed in the color disappears. After applied it does not feel sticky but when you rub your face you can tell that it is there (and presumably working!). When washing your hands after applying the sunscreen you'll notice that it takes a bit to remove, which is it's purpose, after all, since it can't protect if it's not there. I wear it when kayaking, where you get sun from the sky and reflected off the water.
Good sun protection

It goes on nicely. Somewhat hard to wash off, but that means it's doing it's job.
too thick and white cast
scorpio from Boise, ID
I have a very light skin tone and the amount of white cast this gives me makes me look like I am wearing a mask. It is so thick I have to tug at my skin and rub in so harshly. The only good thing ab this product is that it doesn't burn my sesitive eyes.
Sheer Zinc Face

It is not greasy does not rub off yet wonderful mineral protection
Effective but difficult to apply

Averaging my experience at 3 stars
5 stars for effectiveness - no sunburn when using this sunscreen
1 star because it's sticky and takes time to apply and rub in well to reduce white cast on skin...maybe just a downside of this type of highly effective sunscreen.
Zinc based sunscreen

It's the first sunscreen I've used that doesn't run and sting your eyes.
Dry Sheer Zinc Face

In the hot weather it is not greasy can wear foundation over it lasts does not rub off.
Too thick to really apply
Kels from GA
Went in very optimistic about this product but unfortunately it's a bit too thick for me. I like to "warm up" mineral sunscreens between my fingers because even though I am light skinned, I do definitely see white cast, and warming it up can help alleviate this issue in my experience.
This product is so thick that it's nearly impossible to do. I'd like to spread sunscreen onto my skin, but it's just too thick to do so - you'd have to pat it into the skin. It generally isn't too streaky on the skin (exception being around your hairline, eyebrows, and contours of your nose - always rub those in a bit more to make sure you aren't getting white streaks around those areas). It also definitely leaves a white cast. It wears fine under makeup, which is great because due to the white cast, I'd never wear it by itself.
I don't hate it enough to return it, so I'll definitely use it all the way through, but I won't be repurchasing.

I like this sunscreen for coverage and ease of use. My only problems with this product is it leaves a white cast on your face, bad. It leaves white flakes in my hairline and sticks to dead skin a lot, so it looks like your face is flaky if you have dead skin there. Once it dries, it seems to leave patches of white. Thankfully I'm using it for outside work, so cosmetics aren't really important to me. Once it goes on, it is very greasy to the touch, so give it a bit to soak in and not feel that way. Otherwise, good product. Not sure if I will repurchase this specific face sunscreen due to those problems.
Love this! But I don't think it's for darker skin
Dylan from USA
I have dry, sensitive, acne prone skin and this sunscreen is perfect for me. It protects from the sun as well as adding hydration. It takes about 3 minutes too massage into my skin to reduce the white cast, and then eventually fully soaks into my skin in about 15 minutes. I am white and pretty pale, so the white cast is not a problem for me, but I definitely don't think it would work on people with darker skin. Which is unfortunate because everyone should have access to the same products. I wanted to inform people with darker skin to not but this because it would probably leave too much of a white cast.

the sunscreen got rid of my acne scars and hyperpigmentation!! The ingredient zinc is amazing for reducing acne and treating it. I apply it on my breakouts over night and the next morning you can hardly see them. only downside is that it does leave a white cast and it is thick but if you apply a small amount and rub it good in your palms and pat it gently on your face it is manageable. Definitely recommend trying it if you have oily skin or acne prone

I used this for three months with foundation drops and loved it BUT Do Not sweat in this. consistency is too thick and resulted in a heat rash
perfect for sensitive skin

i love this sunscreen! i have sensitive skin and it doesn't irritate my skin, also i am very pale and burn easily and this sunscreen protects my skin so well. I also doesn't cause any breakouts!
AMAZING for oily skin, just know HOW to apply correctly
:) from CA
I have pretty oily skin that feels greasier with most sunscreen. But this really took me by surprise. It doesn't add shine to my already oily t-zone. However, in the reviews section I saw many people complaining about the white cast. BUT that is absolutely no problem IF you know how to apply.
- don't RUB it all over your face
- don't work with large amounts at a time
-don't try to apply to your entire face in one go
-work with a VERY small amount (I use a dollop half the size of my pinky nail) at a time
-rub it out between the palms of your hands until it looks fairly clear
- PAT gently onto one section of the face (ex: cheeks, nose, or forehead)
-repeat those three steps for the other sections of your face until done
I really hope this helps others enjoy this sunscreen as much as I do!

Love how thick it is. Doesnt even melt in high heat. Wish you had a mineral body one as well.
Annabelle from Montana
This is an okay sunscreen for me but I do have very pale skin. I would not recommend this to anyone with more color to their skin since it leaves a white cast. For the price and blendability I do like it overall.
Great product and water resistant, hard to apply
Alonso from Miami, FL
Too hard to smear on the face. Great product but difficult to apply
Hard to blend
Minguez2020 from Nj
Seems to work but would not purchase again as it is hard to blend without a mirror or witness to tell you if there's any white left on your face.
It's very thick.
Jessjess85 from Dana point
I love this spf for the beach and pool, people that give it bad reviews shouldn't use it for everyday use. It's a thick waterproof spf. The reason it's white is because it's all zinc. If you don't want that then buy a chemical spf. I love this product cuz I don't get zits from it :)
Thick, sticky, but effective.
Hendersonc227 from Delaware
It's thick and difficult to apply. Doesn't go under makeup very well. I use it for the kids faces now when they want to go swimming. But not a good everyday facial sunscreen for me.
mmee from Springfield, MO
I am known to develop allergies to sunscreens. This one seems ok so far. Its a tiny bit greasy when applied but it dries up pretty well.
Worst White Cast
emmad from Santa Rosa, CA
This is the WORST white cast I've ever had. Its super thick and sticky. It doesn't fade very well either. I would recommend using Cervae Mineral Sunscreen over this product. I know white casts happen with mineral sunscreens but this is seriously horrible. I am super pale too and this somehow makes me look even paler.
Not user friendly
Joe89 from CT
This sunscreen is white and thick in consistency. Hard to spread without pulling skin on your face to incorporate. Will not be purchasing again.
Worst thing I've ever tried!
Sammy5 from KS
I have very sensitive skin and burn easily so hoped this would be a good product for me. I could hardly apply it because it was so thick and goopy. When I was done I had a white shiny greasy mess on my face, it looked Halloween makeup. I let it set for at least 15 minutes hoping it would absorb but no such luck. I finally scrubbed it off and it took two washes to get my skin clean. And I didn't use a large amount of it. To make it even worse, I broke out in red bumps and blisters all over my face. I would give this minus stars if it was an option. Don't waste your money on this stuff.
