Most Helpful Positive Review I would buy again, blends so well
So I've heard a lot about this brand through Instagram and wanting to support more black owned businesses plus all the positive things I've heard I wanted to give it a try. Looking through the reviews I see that they're pretty mixed but for me personally I really like it. I sometimes I have a hard time finding the proper shade for me because I'm light-skinned so either the foundation makes me look like I have a weird tan or way too white but I got shade stick in Bolivia and it is one of the best color matches I have ever had. it Blends seamlessly also a little definitely goes a long way. I have dry skin and sometimes foundations will leave me with dry flaky spots but unlike what I've read some people say I had no issues with that which I love . The only thing is the other color that I got as my Contour I wish I actually had gone a bit darker because they're mid shades actually seem to look lighter than they do in the pictures so I would recommend if you're getting one to do your Contour to maybe go as far as four or five Shades Darker than your foundation color.
Most Helpful Critical Review Not for me.
I wanted to give this product a decent shot. I am 27 years old and I have very dry, very sensitive skin (just as a disclaimer). I purchased this foundation stick in store. I've heard great things about Juvia's eyeshadow pigments and the affordability of this line alone was enough to bait me into a purchase. I bought the stick in shade Tokyo. Here's what I've decided:
-The formula is, at first, creamy and smooth and easy to apply. With a wet blender I was able to achieve a nice sheer coverage not unlike BB creams and balms- which are my preferred coverage.
- Appears dewy and velvety at first glance.
- I applied a light veil of finishing powder to set my makeup and INSTANTLY saw cakey/flakey spots on my forehead.
- Cakey/flakey condition just worsens throughout the duration of wear.
I KNOW that I have dry skin, I know that my skin is sensitive and needs to be babied a lot. With that being said, I can dump literally EVERY moisturizer in my arsenal onto my face. I can keep a wonderful regimen for my skin, and it will look dewy and healthy. The SECOND i put this foundation on: all of that hard-work is out the window. It is drying, I literally have rough spots that are flaking off of my face after only a few hours of wear.
I would not recommend this product to anyone with dry or sensitive skin. It will not do you any favors.

The product arrived broken, and it smeared all around the tube and inside of the box. Because I touched and I was able to see the consistency, which Was pretty thick.

Came broken and doesn't blend evenly

I was excited to buy this foundation stick. I got the color Jacmel. couldn't wait to use it. I was so disappointed because it oxidized so bad on me making me look orange and oily I want to try a lighter color but dont want to waste my money when my black opal foundation stick is cheaper and is the bomb. I also got the foundation in Punta Cana but scared to try it. I am open to any suggestion because of covid I can't test any other colors!

My new favorite contour stick. I would definitely look at the different shades on the Ulta App to see all the colors and shades. I determined which one I should get based on the short description it had. I'm using it as a contour stick so I got it in the shade Brasilia. I have medium beige skin. It gives creamy warmth to my skin and it goes on smoothly. Overall it lasts the whole day and performs great.
Love it! from Texas
I love mixing the two shades I received. Love the Dewey look and the coverage! Stands up pretty well to this Texas heat too. I love how my blush just blends in so well.

I blend this in with my fingers and the result is beautiful.
Why would t it be awesome?!?!?

You don't need to pound this product on, after awhile it becomes cakey* I use under my eyes because I live in Tx, and a whole face makes no sense...also a whole face just dirties my mask! Over all this product is awesome, and I would recommend for people of color
Excellent medium coverage stick

Easy to blend and pretty good color match.
Excellent foundation for me, am very fair.

Apply with a sponge all over face and set with finishing powder.

Used this as a cream contour, maybe that was my problem. I can't imagine it would be any better as concealer.

I love that it doesn't take much to cover your whole face, and you can make it look more natural or more glam depending on how much you use. It looks beautiful but doesn't feel great on the skin, it is very greasy and probably not the best for oily skin.
This is the best foundation stick I've found!
Missi from Alpharetta, GA
Love this foundation stick! My shade is Zambia and it is a perfect match! It gives me a beautiful, dewy, natural skin finish and last all day!
pretty good! combo skin review
lavender from CA
got mine in shade Manila and it matched pretty well. Got Boliva to highlight and it looks nice! slips and slides if you don't set it with Powder. my skin tends to be more on the dry side but I can have an oily T zone sometimes. overall good! in juleps 5-1 complexion stick I am 220 Sand for reference. I am more neutral with some warmth to my skin.
Doesn't work for me :(

I wanted to love this foundation so badly but it doesn't love me. The shade Barcelona is the closest color match I have ever found for myself BUT the product looks absolutely awful on my skin. I have dry/normal skin and this foundation immediately separates and looks greasy on me, even after setting powder. It never seems to blend into my skin, instead it sits on top like a cakey mess! I've tried many brushes, sponges, and primers and still have not found a way for this to work for me!

It took me 3 times to find my correct shade due to Covid19 restrictions, but once I found my correct one I was impressed with the amount of coverage I got from this Foundation stick. It literally look like my real skin. I purchase the shade Guinea which look darker than my face but once I apply the foundation stick it oxidized and the color match was impeccable. I also paired it with the I am magic concealer, which I also highly recommend.
Super comfortable to wear!!
LadyKage from DeWitt, IA
I really really liked this product! It felt light on my skin and was comfortable all day long! I like that I can dab on as much or as little as I need. I find it super easy to use. I apply it to my face and use a brush to blend it in! Follow up with IT! Cosmetics powder to set it ❤️ I'm going to get a darker shade to do contour with it!
perfect for no-nonsense makeup!
Pidge from Las Vegas, NV
I was able to find my perfect foundation match with the shade stick. It's beautifully lightweight, despite the oily feel. I highly recommend a hydrating primer and a matte powder to go with this. I live for no-nonsense makeup, and liquid foundations just don't do it for me! This stick allows me to slap on my foundation and blend it in in less than a minute. I don't recommend this for FULL heavy coverage, but for people searching for light-medium coverage in seconds flat, there isn't anything better!
Love love love

I originally purchased this color for a contour shade & I picked the wrong shade but it's a perfect foundation match so it's a win Situation
Cat from Rahway NJ
The shade is a little light for me but I always find it hard to find foundation that matches me perfectly. I like the formula, it provides great coverage.
love it, don't get all the negative reviews
kikodiva from New York
This has a multitude of uses, and I use it for medium to full coverage foundation, brightening, and contour. Yes, it is emollient, so if you have oily skin you may have to skip this one. I am 45 and have normal to dry skin, and I love it. It doesn't settle into my fine lines. You do have to set it. It gives my skin a slight glow even with powder, and I love the undertones. I will be repurchasing. I do wish Juvias would come out with a wide ranging light coverage foundation... hint hint...
When it's good it's good but when it's bad it's bad
jgamblian17 from Manhattan, KS
This foundation has a lot going for it, great coverage, smooth finish, and the greatest shade range at the price point. For that alone I'd give it 5 stars. But (and it's a big but) transfer proof is not in this foundations vocabulary. Even after baking and using setting spray on it, it somehow manages to get everywhere. So Ig if you don't mind getting foundation on everything you own, this may be the foundation for you.
Great product for the price!
Keneisha D from TN
I bought this foundation because a friend recommended it to me as I was having trouble trying to find affordable foundation that had my undertones. I bought Abidjan and it fits my skin tone perfectly! I will definitely be buying this again!
