Most Helpful Positive Review Deep and long lasting color
I've used many different semi permanent colorful dyes over the years and this is definitely the deepest and most intense color deposit I've come across. I have naturally blonde hair at about a level 7 that's been lifted to a level 8. I was actually trying for a less intense color so I only left the dye on for 20 minutes, but this color is STRONG and left my hair a darkkkk purple that made my hair look like I had put purple over a dark brown. I ended up bleaching my roots/about 3 inches down so the blonde was visible again because I'm a committed blonde, which wasn't apparent at all with how dark this dye turned out. It's been 6 weeks and I've washed my hair (with a cleansing conditioner exclusively) probably 20 times and the color has definitely faded but it is still VERY much purple and with the fading I've actually reached the color and intensity I initially wanted.
Pros: -smells great, fruity and reminiscent of artificial grape, doesn't smell like typical hair dye at all, grape smell lasted for a few days
-quick results (can be washed out within 20 minutes)
-doesn't bleed out in the shower (after the initial two or three washes)
-doesn't stain clothing or towels when wet
-leaves hair feeling soft and conditioned
Cons: -very messy application, the slightest touch will stain skin/counters/anything encountered
-stained shower floor and walls on initial rinse
-might be darker than anticipated
This is a great product if you're looking for an intense color deposit that will last longer than some other brands. If you're looking for a lighter color, I recommend mixing dye with a white conditioner before applying to hair.
I've attached three images- my initial level of blonde, directly after dye deposit, and now-6 weeks later- with blonde roots and color fade after ~20 times cowashing.
Most Helpful Critical Review I mean... sure
I used this product in turquoise 2 weeks ago for homecoming.. cause yknow.. school spirit. Anyway.. I've used this product before in the pink and purple but just on my ends. I decided to be adventurous and use the turquoise all over my hair. The color was great! The only problem I have is.. it won't come out. It has faded to this light green and I've tried all sorts of things to get it out from anti-dandruff shampoo to vitamin c tablets. If you are looking for something that will last a while and you don't mind the fading.. get this. But if you are looking for something to last maybe a week.. just don't do it with the turquoise. ALSO! If you have thicker/longer hair you may want to get a couple jars because I only purchased one and barely had enough. Good luck on your hair adventure.

I bought this for my friend to dye her hair and it was absolutely horrible. You'd have better luck using kook aid. It turned her entire body and shower purple and took days to wash out
colors beautiful but the aftermath..😳

i dyed my hair with the midnight blue and the color applied very nicely but what i wasn't ready for the washing out process, i prepared myself for a mess but never did i anticipate my entire tub being blue,my WHITE pillow cases turning blue, my entire body being blue from my neck to my feet including my ears and neck so intensely that it won't come out
i wouldn't buy it again only because for a few more dollars, arctic fox is much better and it doesn't bleed all over the place
YOUR WELCOME from Florida
I purchased 2 tubs of this product in order to avoid using harsh chemicals on my hair. The color I chose was Onyx. After using it for the first time, I will never use it again nor will I ever repurchase! As a matter of fact, I will be returning the unopened tub. I followed all the instructions, waited just 15 minutes even though it says I could wait up to 30 or more for more vibrant color. When I got in the shower to rinse out my hair, this product completely STAINED MY SHOWER!!! From top to bottom, my shower was covered in this product! The walls which where at first white turned blue, red, then pink! It literally looked like a rainbow exploded in my shower! As if that was the worse part, my feet, fingers and face all turned blue as well! Removing the stain from my shower took 2 bottles of bleach, a lot of time and elbow grease to completely get it all out and there is still some left! Beware when using this product. Avoid it if you can, otherwise do not rinse in the shower. Find an alternate location.

I have purple hair. I'll either use this in between washes (mix it with my conditioner) or just directly put it on my hair (feeling lazy to go to the salon or am on a budget).
This product did not work at all!

This product was a waste of my money. We put it on twice. It all washed out and you still could not see any color.

I'm a licenced hair stylist and i have axcess to many brands. This is by far the best fashion color brand that I've used!!!! Lasts a long time. Smells great. Does stain my counter, but nothing a little bleach can't clean.

Will buy again

Great purple dye

I've used the plum shade a few times by them. It's very vibrant, and it lasts a long time. It does have a weird fake grape smell too it but besides that It's a great product
I'll never use any other brand of dye

I have tried a lot of different brands trying to achieve really vibrant, fun colored hair. I've struggled to find a brand that creates a lasting, vibrant color that doesn't fade super quickly but finally, I've found it! The color came out great, it wasn't too damaging to my hair, and it's still super bright even after using less-than great quality shampoo. Very happy with this!
IF YOURE THINKING ABOUT IT GET IT

I mixed mine with leave in conditioner. I STRONGLY SUGGEST MIXING IT WITH A LEAVE IN CONDITIONER AND LEAVING IT IN FOR ABOUT AN HOUR WITH A PLASTIC BAG OVER UR HEAD TO INCUBATE. THEN THOROUGLY RINSE IN THE SHOWER UNTIL NO COLOR COMES OUT. It did not stain at all, color (flamingo pink) came out vibrant and long lasting. I have dyed blonde hair and dark roots and looked so good. Not sure how to add pictures but my insta is sweatycoco and I have picture on there. I'm so in love
LOVE THE PURPLE!! BUT IT'S MESSY AND STAINS EVERYTHING
Marisa from Washington
It comes out pretty and lasts a decent amount of time recommended.
Just be extra careful with applying once it gets on something it doesn't want to come off. The only thing that works to get it off your sink and shower is bleach cleaner.
When I first used it I washed it out in the shower it looked like I killed a purple dinosaur it was bad, my whole body was purple I didn't think I was going to get the purple out of the shower.
Highly recommend to wash outside.
My favorite Dye

Love this dye. The only one i use. Colors are vibrant and last a long time(if u wash your hair with luke warm to medium warm water).
the plum isn't NOT purple
AJ from San Francisco
my hair is naturally black (level 1) but bleached to a level 8 (9 in some areas). left on punky color's plum for 2 hours and it turned out bright fuschia. it's not terrible but i went in aiming for purple :P besides the misleading picture online, i think the color payoff is pretty good- it comes out really intense and bright. i got bored during quarantine so i purchased all the purples and blues from this line- looking forward to trying the other colors.

Hair color that lasts from Dallas
When they say this lasts for 35 washes, it's no joke! Firstly, you guys should know that I am TERRIBLE and still wash my hair every day even with color (which is why I avoided it in the past). On a whim, I decided to let my sister, who is in cosmetology school, due my hair. The dye her school uses washed out and looked terrible after a week... but I had already prepared myself for the disappointment. I found this product and read the reviews and decided to give it a chance, again not expecting much because I just HAVE to wash my hair daily... AND LET ME TELL YOU!!!! It's had been almost 2 months since I dyed my hair with punky colour and it is still VERY vibrant!!! I will say that this is probably not for you if you wish to change your hair color in the future (I am fully committed to the green life) because even color remover doesn't do much to get it out.... so if you want something that lasts, stays vibrant and is low maintenance then this is for you!! Again, if you want a different color I'm the future, you may have issues... but overall this is a good product

im in love with this dye I used the violet. my hair turned out SO bright and vibrant but also is still a darker purple. I had pre bleached hair but had used a box dye silver/gray and it turned this light blue/light green/spotty yellow and not in a good way so I was looking for something to cover it and this did the trick! I had no trouble with staining I justed followed instructions and covered my neck ears and fore head in petroleum jelly not a thin layer but kinda thick since I didn't know how strong the dye was. I also used gloves when applying so my hands were not stained and I put on different gloved when I was ready to wash out my hair just incase and again had no problems none of my body stained not even the parts that did NOT have the petroleum jelly on it. also my shower did not stain at all. so for the staining problems people seem to have id just say follow the instructions.
Buying again but its not gonna stay for 30+ washes.
Julie from Fresno
I really loved how vibrant the color was the first few days after i dyed it but i didn't like that as soon as i started using hot water on my hair then it would rinse out. For the price you pay, i do say that it is still worth it, but just make sure you have color safe shampoos and conditioners for the days you have to wash your hair.
New mixture or bad batch...?
fumiiko from MKE, WI
I've used this brand for many years and always loved the color pay off & how long it lasted in between washes! But whatever they've done to the mix has been AWFUL! I run my hands through my hair and they come out blue! I've never had so much color transfer in all my experience of coloring my hair! The color literally transfers worse than my foundation does....and it never used to be so terrible! Even dry, it just turns everything it touches to the same color! no matter how many times I rinse, even if the water is extremely faint in color, the dye STILL manages to transfer everywhere! I wouldn't want to use this ever again!
Beautiful vibrant color. Use gloves at all times

I used it to get the green out and it worked amazing!
Never. Buying. Again.
Just wanted a dark root from San Jose
I used this for a black root. It bled into the rest of my hair that was supposed to orange and turned it an ugly looking faded green. Scalp is blue. And the black looks almost purple instead of blue. Stained my tub like crazy. DO NOT RECOMMEND

not even close to how artic fox is... also it stains like CRAZY. the midnight blue just made brown hair black. no blue even in the sunlight. Im going to return it cause its a totallllll waste of money. I'll pay for artic fox next time.
cj from usa
The color pay off was great. However, it was extremely messy compared to my normal arctic fox. Messier to apply and to wash out. I stood in the shower for 40+ minutes rinsing out the black and theres still a lot of dye that wanted to come out. The purple i used wasnt as bad with rinsing out though.
Easy to use!
Julie from Mn
My daughter loves this product. We use it to dip dye her ends or sometimes just streaks of color. It's easy to use and fades nicely.
It's great IF you know what you're doing...

I've read a lot of negative reviews about this product but honestly, it just sounds like a bunch of amateurs that have no idea what they are doing and didn't bother to read the instructions. It's obviously going to stain and be messy (it's DYE), you just have to prepare for that.
The product itself does exactly what it's supposed to do - DYE your hair (and everything else it touches, duh). Yes, it stains the shower, but there are products out there that take it out, you just have to find the right one for your surface-type. I have a white tile shower with white grout... it was purple after using the one of the purples (I can't remember exactly which one), but with one application of Soft Soap cleaning spray with bleach, it's completely gone. I had the same thing happen in my old fiberglass tub with blue... with the right product it will come out.
USE GLOVES... Basically just practice common sense and you'll be pleased :)
