Most Helpful Positive Review Benefit Cosmetics Roller Liner
This eyeliner is great! I've been using it exclusively since receiving it to test and very pleased so far. It's a pen style so it's easy and comfortable to hold to get my line and wings precise. And if you find you have to go over lines, the product layers nicely without lifting or product build up.
The shade of black is BLACK, not grey. So know that the color is going to be bold. The liner isn't completely matte after the dry down. It had a semi satin finish but I did find it mattified later on. I wear glasses regularly but applied while wearing contacts did not irritate my eyes. The liner is also an easy removal with makeup remover or cleanser and doesn't flake off throughout the day.
I love black liquid liner but usually find felt tip pen liners to not meet my needs since they either dry out too fast or the tip gets super flimsy or the tip is too hard that it hurts to apply. I tend to prefer brush tip since they're durable but flexible, but I have no complaints with Benefit's Roller Liner. Still I would make sure storage is tip side down so it's always ready for use and doesn't dry out (which sucks aesthetically since the cap is a cute hair roller but that's not a major con).
My only complaints are that it claims to last 24 hours & is waterproof. While I wouldn't wear makeup for a whole day, I can say it's pretty long lasting, just not 24 hours. Definitely at least ten to twelve hours for regular daily wear without excessive fading and the color is still black. But if you scratch or rub an itch by your eye or if you sort of tear up, your wing is going to fade slightly. I can't vouch for water running over my face to see if liner holds up but I doubt it can hold up for so long without fading or smudging, especially when you wipe water away.
However this liquid liner is great. I'd probably buy it when
I run out and I may look into the brown version.

Most Helpful Critical Review Great Liner But Pricey
The first time I used the Roller Liner, it was a disaster. Most of the time if I don't use eyeshadow, I like to put a concealer on my lids and then use a felt tip liner after it dries down. I have to say that this did not work well because it transfered on my top lid almost immediately and continued to do so throughout the day. With that being said, this would not be a good liner to use with just concealer, a paint pot, or a cream eyeshadow. If you use only a concealer on your lids or a paint pot, you have to either set your eyes with a translucent powder or use eyeshadow before applying the Roller Liner. I don't know how it performs on the lid by itself since I do not wear my makeup that way. When I used the Roller Liner with concealer and eyeshadow on top, it performed perfectly and I didn't experience any issues.
It claims to be 24hrs and I believe it is, but don't expect to sleep with it on and see it the next morning. It claims to be waterproof and I have to say that it is rather difficult to remove. I haven't tried swimming with it, but I'm more than positive it would survive a water test. The Roller Liner does dry down matte without flaking. You can go over your lines as many times as you want and the liner stays in place. For the most part, I would say the Roller Liner does create a smooth and continuous line, however I did experience a few times holding the applicator incorrectly (especially when creating a wing) can cause the liner to skip and not dispense product. I found the best way to apply the eyeliner is to use a light hand or the line ends up looking too thick. The packaging is cute, but the actual felt tip seemed too long in my opinion.
All in all, it's a great eyeliner, but the price is disappointing. I was excited to try this product out, but I don't feel like I was blown away. It was just okay. *I recieved this product compilmentary for testing purposes.*

the application was really nice and easy, and the dry down was a nice matte. It lasts for about 1-2 hours until it wears off on me. the area of my wing near the corner of my eye wears off so quickly. not great for hooded eyes tbh. But it didn't flake or irritate my eyes (i wear contacts). I got it as a gift from my mom, and I'll keep using it, but I wouldn't ever repurchase. Not worth the price when the wing only looks the same as when I put it on for a few hours.

It honestly worked amazing the first few trys but after the 4th time the tip was very dry it was applying my eyeliner very patchy. This eyeliner was just not it for me. Overall I do have to say that the tips is very thin Im(which I love) and made beautiful eyeliner look when it did work good.
Better than Stila
Emmarosebud from California
I used to use the Stila liquid pen for years, but this one tops the charts. It goes on so smoothly and in a solid black line. It's easy to get thin lines without having to go over them again. It stays on forever but doesn't irritate my sensitive eyes. Love the felt tip

Its an average eyeliner but I expected better considering it was from Benefit. It is very streaky and hard to remove
Wish it was actually waterproof:(

I do love this eyeliner, but the only issue is that it completely wears off when my eyes water from allergies :(

Worst eyeliner ever

I have drugstore eyeliners that perform 100x better then this and that's coming from someone who one buys drugstore products when needed. Smudged everywhere luckily my coworker work me but wow, I looked like a street walker. Never again.

my friend loves this, so I wanted to try it. I don't care for it.
it's super black and holds its own well. applies well enough too, but I'm not a fan of the felt tip liner. I'm mixed Asian and have mixed almost hooded monolid looking eyelids. felt tip liners tend pull on my lids and is harder for me to get a good wisp of a tail. I didn't like it enough to keep it, I gave it to her instead of returning.

I was given this to try instead of KVD tattoo eyeliner and this product is too dry at the tip.
Least favorite liquid eyeliner

I got this eyeliner after reading good reviews, but absolutely hated it. I've used a bunch of different brands, including even drugstore brands that were better than this one. I'll just stick with Tarte from now on.
Tugging on my heart strings
Bernie Mac and Cheesy from Long Island, New York
This has been my go-to liner since it came out a couple of years ago. You would know when it was time to replace it about 4-5 months after buying it by tugging slightly and not getting that pinpoint edge for the Cat Eye look. (Using it almost every day).
This last pen I got has been absolutely terrible, and judging by the recent reviews, it doesn't seem like an isolated case. I'm wondering if they changed their formula.
It smudges and I have to go over the same area several times, which doesn't create that ideal, crispy line. I figured maybe it's because it's new that this smudging was happening but it hasn't changed a couple of weeks later. I struggled getting a smooth line this morning and almost threw the pen across the room. Super disappointed and will be finding a new eyeliner pen.
I did not like this product it's very dry

Easy to apply and stays put all day! I love doing a winged eyeliner and this works perfectly. Color is great and applies very smoothly.

I didn't realize how bad this eyeliner was until I used Stila's. Wouldn't buy again nor recommend.
I might buy this product again
Kimmie from Orange, CA
Although the price is fair, applying this liner is unsatisfactory. It cracks, and there is not enough liquid to complete a line even after 3 attempts. I have to blot and reply several times to get an even line.

First off, this liner ISN'T waterproof. Not even close. Not even worth 1 star. 3 hours into my shift I go to the restroom to see black everywhere under my eyes (yeah, NOT A SINGLE CO-WORKER TOLD ME). During my first application this morning, the liner dried up on the middle of my eye. Had to dab it in a hard surface several times just to get it on both eyes. After being paranoid all day and frequent bathroom visits to make sure it hadn't repeated its failure (it had), I go home and take a shower. When I tell you I looked like a girl after a night of partying and being thrown in the shower while drunk, I'm not kidding. I had black ink all the way down to my jawline!! Waterproof??? I'm beyond disappointed in this product. Especially because I've always trusted Benefit! Will never buy again, and will probably return this to the store tomorrow. Not worth the money. I'll gladly go back to my Hank & Henry and spend more money for a liner I can trust all day.
Love this liquid liner

One of my new favorites! Comparable to KVD, really love it
Selina from Pennsylvania
I was so excited to try this. Usually I use Kat Von D's liquid liner which I love. I've been doing winged liner like every day for the past ten years because I'm a fiend. I've never had an application go this poorly before. This makes my wings look blobby and not sharp at all. I would love to to get my money back.
Channabanana from Salt Lake City
Don't buy! It will be all over your eyes. I'm a pretty experienced make up junkie. This is the worst eyeliner I've ever used! Honestly Stila all day hands down! L'Oréal is better! Save your money ladies.
Clau from Arizona
It's kind of matte
beautiful brown liner
nap g from Texas
I used to love using a black eyeliner but now that I'm getting older and my eyes are more hooded, black makes my eyes look heavy. Taisha recommened this liner and I'm in love. It is the perfect brown that matches my eye color.
Anne from Virginia
I was excited to try this product based on the good reviews. However, I did see there were many reviews remarking on the dryness of the formula/ felt tip. The felt tip was extremely flimsy and not in a good way, and the formula was so dry. It was as if I had been using it for months and it was running out. I was not impressed. This product was dry and not easy to use.
