softest brush!!!!

By A

from Wisconsin

Comments about EcoTools Retractable Face Brush:

I have a Too Faced retractable kabuki brush that has what they call "teddy bear hair" bristles, but this EcoTools brush is far softer and far less pricey. a lot of brushes feel itchy to me but this one does not at all. (Unlike the Too Faced!) Wish I would've found this brush first. All I wear is concealer and powder (NARS RCC and Revlon Colorstay pressed powder, to be specific) and this brush both applies my powder wonderfully on the initial application and looks great when I do touch ups.

Comments about EcoTools Retractable Face Brush:

Overall it is a good brush. I use it to apply powder products (foundation, bronzer, blush), not liquid. What I dislike about it is the case - the cap doesn't stay on very well. The retractable mechanism (part that covers the bristles) doesn't stay locked in place. When you close the lid it retracts down to be compact, but somehow does not lock, so the barrel protecting the bristles slides up and down from the closed compact size to the extended full size. That makes it feel cheap.

For an inexpensive retractable brush I like how soft it is. I use it with the Molly gel in a circular motion and leaves my face feeling so soft to the touch.

Comments about EcoTools Retractable Face Brush:

I had another travel brush I was looking to replace because the bristles were too long. It was a no name brand brush. After getting this Ecotool's brush I hadn't realized how incredibly soft it was compared to my old brush. I use it daily and won't ever go back to my other travel brush.

          Good but breaks easily

Comments about EcoTools Retractable Face Brush:

I've had two of these brushes and while they're soft and work well, they break so easily. Unfortunately I won't be repurchasing because I think there are many brushes that out perform this one. Still a nice brush though!

Great question! This brush unfortunately doesn't twist into a different shape, but it is pretty awesome in and of itself! :)

                  Hi Ziggy,

This kabuki brush would be an amazing brush for powder foundation because of how lightly packed and fluffy the bristles are - they would give you that light, but flawless coverage.

For a cream to powder foundation, I would tend to use a brush whose head is more dense and compact. One brush I love within EcoTools for liquid foundation application is the Buffing Brush, shown here: http://www.ulta.com/buffing-brush?productId=xlsImpprod4260025

                  Thanks!

                  Hi Abbey,

I do love me a kabuki brush for a lot of different things, and it would be an amazing brush for a bronzer because of how lightly packed and fluffy the bristles are - they would give you that natural glow you're looking for.

However, I probably wouldn't recommend it for contouring - you need something with a bit more precision and something that has a bit more of an angular cut. My best recommendation is a brush from our sister brand, Real Techniques. We make a Sculpting Brush in that line that is absolutely amazing for contouring - you can find it here: http://www.ulta.com/sculpting-brush?productId=xlsImpprod11861065

That has the angles, the smaller cut bristles and the dense packing that is perfect for creating a fierce contour!

                  Thanks.
