      Think twice

      About Me Product Junkie

Comments about Living Proof Restore Conditioner:

Let me be clear. Had I given this product a review in the first 6 weeks it would have been positive and 5 stars. I loved it at first. It made my wavy hair easy to straighten it looked and felt silky and awesome. Fast forward 4-6 weeks later of using it every time I washed. I started to notice my hair felt hard like it wasn't soaking in any of my after products. I thought It was weird but continued to use it. Pretty soon the shine started to disappear from my hair. I thought my hair was just getting bad with age. I cut 4 inches off and chalked the problem up to my highlights. My hair started to break and had no elasticity. After some research I found out this product was over proteining my hair. It took months of using only mositurizing products to with no protein and my hair is finally gaining some elasticity back and shine. Basically unless your hair is dried cotton candy that is stretchy I wouldn't use this product too often. You will love it at first but you will suffer the rather of over protein. You have been warned!! Wish I had

I'm addicted! I love this conditioner. I am going to but the matching shampoo because right now i am finishing the Perfect Day shampoo by LP. I picked this up using my rewards points as an alternate to my regular conditioner hoping that my finicky hair wouldn't get used my other favorite but this have become my everything. I use it 3 times a week and it is amazing. It leaved me hair soft, easy to detangle and shiny. I can also tell it is better hydrated. LOVE, LOVE, LOVE

        Better than the Shampoo

        By Lucy

        from Chicago

Comments about Living Proof Restore Conditioner:

This conditioner is better than the shampoo that you're supposed to use with it. This is easy to lather, and makes my dry, course, and bleached hair feel SO much better. If I would've known about the shampoo being a miss, I would've just brought the bigger version of this condition and used it as a deep treatment.

            Loveeeeee

            By Sam

            from Providence ri

Comments about Living Proof Restore Conditioner:

My hair is naturally dry, coarse and wavy. Add to that it's color damaged (I have had every not natural color you can think of, and my hair is almost black so I have to lift it to blonde for the crazy colors to show up) and this whole line has improved the health of my hair so immensely. To get the best results you really do need to make sure your cutting out all your other silicone based products!

Is the shampoo and conditioner sulfate free?

                  • Brand Expert

                    A:

Restore shampoo is and the Restore conditioner is not.

You've probably heard a lot about sulfates and generally think they are bad for hair. You should watch out for sulfates in shampoos as when they are used in lathering, cleansing products they can strip hair of its natural surface oils, making it feel rough, dry and brittle. Sulfates can also strip the scalp of its natural oils, leading to dryness and irritation. Examples of commonly used sulfate ingredients that can be stripping include: Sodium Lauryl Sulfate, Sodium Laureth Sulfate, and Ammonium Lauryl Sulfate. You should watch out for these in shampoos.

Sulfates do not inflict damage on hair when used in conditioners or treatments. When used in these products they actually help make hair smoother, softer and visibly healthier.

Sulfates in conditioners and treatments do not damage chemical treatments or color. Characterizing them as not good for your hair in these types of products is incorrect.
