Most Helpful Positive Review Amazing Product I developed redness around my nose area for the past year. When I would flare up, it would be bright red with texture/bumps. It's gotten so bad to the point where I went to see a dermatologist. They said I had adult acne/rosacea/eczema. I tried 3 different prescription medicines but nothing seemed to work (in fact, the 3rd prescription made it worse.)
I decided to give Dermalogica a try since I had heard good things about it and after doing some research, I saw that they had UltraCalming products. I decided to give the Redness Relief Essence a try since it was one of their new products and it specifically targeted redness. After 30 mins of applying the essence (along with my other normal skincare products), I saw that the redness had gone down significantly. I've used it for 4 days now and the redness has turned to a light pink, almost nonexistent sometimes and the texture/bumps are completely gone.
It's only been a few days, but this is an amazing product in my book. I can't wait to incorporate other Dermalogica products into my skincare routine! Hoping this "adult acne" goes away for good.
Most Helpful Critical Review Doesn't Do Anything I use all Dermalogica skincare products: Ultracalming Cleanser, Skin Resurgacing Cleanser, Skin Hydrating Booster, Super Rich Repair cream, Multivitamin Power Firm eye treatment, and just ran out of the Antioxidant Hydramist.
I have a tendency for redness on my chin and around my nose, so figured I would buy the Redness Relief Essence and use it as a replacement for my Antioxidant Hydramist... I find this product doesn't do anything. I've been using for about a month, and see zero difference in redness. I'm honestly not sure what the point of this product is and think it's a waste of money.

I developed adult acne after having my daughter, with redness and bumps that would not go away on my face. I bought Proactive which is something I haven't had to use in some time. Well that didn't seem to work, so I happened to buy this product when shopping at my Ulta store. One day of using it and my skin is clear! Will be buying other products from this brand and canceling my Proactive. Buy it, great product!
Esthetician review! YOU ARE USING TOO MUCH 5
Middy from California
I've introduced this in my practice and I love it! The problem most people have with Dermalogica arises from using way to much. The reason these products can be priced so is because they're super concentrated. Try 2-3 drops and press it softly into skin. I bet those of you saying it dries you out will fall back in love with it. You also must used a moisturizer BUT you guys should all definitely invest in a serum too. Get one that targets a skin condition you are struggling with, if you're not sure always just have a vit c ( biolumin c is great) in your regimen or a hyaluronic acid.
Not for me 1

I bought the trial size of the Redness Relief Essence and I'm glad I did. I gave it a full month of use and it did nothing for my redness and it left my face feeling sticky. I much prefer the Ultra Calming Mist!
Seriously, ignore reviews. Listen to your skin! 5

Okay, so I had to write a review because this product got soooo many negative reviews. However, I have never used the mist everyone is talking about.
When I first bought this, I was just desperate for any product that would calm my skin down. My face has been patchy and red for months and I couldn't find anything that worked, so I gave this product a shot.
And let me say; I've been using this for a little over a week now and there is a NOTICEABLE difference!! I've been using this once a day, in the morning, right after I wash my face with the Cetaphil Redness Relief face wash and my skin looks so much healthier.
It is drying, so I do recommend moisturizing right after.
Point of my review - don't read reviews. Everyones skin is different and this is working beautifully for me.
In love 5

I was hesitant about purchasing this product at first, it was recommended to my on the dermologica face analysis. I had never noticed the redness in my cheeks or nose before. After using this product, I immediately noticed a difference in my complexion and it leaves my skin super soft and smooth!
Waste of $ 1

I was talked into buying this after I had a facial. I was told it'll help with the redness on my face, which it did not. It's sticky texture is disgusting & it doesn't absorb into my skin well. When I try to put on facial cream & makeup after using it, it doesn't apply well. An absolute waste of money!
I would definitely buy this product again! 5

I have been using this product for a few weeks now and I usually use it in my morning routine after I wash my face. I have some redness in my cheeks that it helps with, it does not make the redness disappear but it has calmed my redness a lot from where it use to be.
New favorite product! 5

I have very sensitive and red skin! My face is almost always red. My esthetician recommended that I try this to help with my redness and I had amazing results after just 2 uses. This is definitely be a forever product for me!
Great product for sensitive skin! 5

This product was a game changer for my skin. If you have rosacea, use this! The consistency is thicker so it protects & normalizes your skin.(better than the spray was) Great for the itchy patches I can get. Use w/Ultracalming serum, my skin is in great shape!
Rosacea Friendly 5
TKC from California
I've been using the Redness Relief Essence as the second step after cleansing in my skincare routine day and night for the past 9 months. The essence does help calm my sensitive skin, especially when my rosacea decides to flare up.
Dermalogica's worst product yet 1

I have been a Dermalogica aesthetician only for 15 years and this product makes you feel like you have grit and powder on your skin it's horrible they need to bring back the Ultra Calming Mist

amazing! it helps soothe the skin after brow waxes and I use it everyday and a toner. it's very hydrating. Pat on let dry and add moisturizer. no more break outs and no more dry skin!
Replaced my Clinique toner & changed my skin 5
Eve from Milwaukee WI
Perfect replacement to several years of believing I needed a toner/exfoliant for my oily/combo skin. Doesn't cause any more breakouts. I can use it Morning and night without it being too heavy and oily under my makeup & moisturizer. It definitely helped my redness from blemishes and daily irritation that shows so much on my fair skin.
I absolutely love this product 5
Auna from Scottsdale Arizona
I have tried other products but when Rosacea and sensitive skin and allergies it's been difficult to find a good product. I recently got this and it's amazing my face no longer hurts, no longer beat red. So far it only lasts about 10 hours and I'll have to reapply but it's easily done.
Bring back the Ultra Calming mist 1
Jenny from Redding, CA
An absolutely inferior product to the Ultra Calming mist in every way. Caused breakouts within 2 days of using, not too mention this product produced a stinging sensation upon application, and was far from being calming in any way. This product is a total disappointment and fail in every way, and I usually love Detmalogica products.

I have developed horrible adult acne. I have tried everything to clear it. Nothing has work until I took a chance on this product! I start with the ultra calming cleanser, apply this redness relief essence then moisturize using neutrogena hydro boost gel. My face literally cleared up overnight. If a new spot develops, this stuff clears it up! It's amazing!!!
Breakouts, did nothing for redness 3
sunkitten from mid-Atlantic
I've loved a lot of Dermalogica products and the Ultracalming serum has been my favorite moisturizer for years. I still have some redness and I was hoping this would help. It did nothing for my redness at all, it leaves a sticky feel, and worst of all I started breaking out like I haven't in years. I had even bought this during a big points multiplier and I still returned it. I just couldn't fathom ever using it.
Just not doing anything for me 2
Product Addict from PA
I use all the UltraCalming products and this one doesn't seem to be doing anything for me. I've been using it for over a month and not seeing any results. I have rosacea in areas of my face and not all over.
Helps relieve redness!! 5
Jub from Oregon
I've been dealing with rosacea during pregnancy and I am always red, a little bumpy around my nose, and my complexion is blotchy. After a few days of using this I noticed a HUGE difference. With daily use of less than 1 week I was able to stop using all that foundation and go all natural! I am absolutely stunned that this solved my redness and and rosacea issues, that my skin is looking nearly flawless now. I am so impressed!! I've used prescription lotions (for rosacea) prescribes by my derm, that did nothing. I will absolutely keep this product in my regime.
To be clear, I bought the ultra calming cleanser at the same time. I have isolated the products and I believe it's the redness relief that is the miracle worker, but perhaps the cleanser helps too! I also am using the skin smoothing cream on top and I'll say I like that moisturizer a lot better than intensive moisture balance- which is what I had been using previously.
Amazing!! But a tad smelly 5
J from Atlanta
Ok, Im going to address the elephant in the Review. This product is absolutely awesome and I love it and use it twice a day. However. It completely smells like armpit. Like, no deo in Aug in the South kinda smell. If you can push through, its well worth it.

So much worse than the mist 3
Ale from California
I wrote Dermalogica asking about the discontinued Ultracalming Mist, which was an amazing product. They told me this was the replacement. So I tried this, and it's nothing like the mist. It's not soothing, it's not hydrating, it's doesn't apply as easily. m my skin is red and irritated from this stuff. so horrible. I don't understand what they were thinking.
Understand it 5
Lady Mandy from Midwest
This is not a cure to redness. It calms the skin once its been irritated, after an acne flare or skin irritation such as a retinoid. It is an essence, not a toner or serum which means it should be used as an aid to a problem not a preventative measure. Do NOT let this product dry down completely as it is not a moisturizer and needs to be sealed in while still tacky with a moisturizer.
I use this after a sunburn, the morning after a retinal or retinoid, and when I get scaly patches. It clears up the problem pretty quickly in addition to the proper moisturizer for whichever problem I'm treating.
I wanted to like it... 1
Jenn from Lancaster
I've heard nothing about good things about this brand and so decided to look into the UltraCalming line for help with my very red, patchy nose and cheeks. Not only is this product annoying to apply (is it a toner? a serum??) but it made my face sting the first couple (and only!!) times I used it. Dry, flaky patches developed under my eyes and around my nose too--I hadn't changed anything else in my skincare routine, so I have to assume it was this. All that and it did zilch for my redness. I think I would still try out other products from this brand in the future, but I'm returning this one.
Not for my sensitive skin 3
Beli from Chicago
It doesn't work for me at first it feels really hydrating but when it dries completely it feels drying.
