Most Helpful Positive Review Wow this is good! I was surprised at how well this performed. I ordered the shade Sand for my tan-to-dark skin tone and it was the perfect color match for eye primer (slightly lighter). I first applied it with my finger but then switched to a concealer-blending brush which created a thicker layer of product which I wanted. I used pressed pigments which require a good base, and this was perfect! My eye look held up 8 hours easily and still looked perfect. I would consider it a great dupe for a paint pot, except this is an even better color match for me!
Most Helpful Critical Review It's hard to say I had hoped (like many of us) that this primer putty would be comparable or even better than a certain three letter company's paint pot. Elf does come through with affordable and oftentimes superior dupes, sometimes. I'm personally in need of color correcting on the eyelids for everyday use, as well as good priming for eyeshadow in one step. The texture of the primer is very dry. You definitely need the warmth of your finger to tap this on. This might be a hit for people with oily lids. It's not very pigmented. It's not creamy. It does seem relatively buildable. I have the colors Cream and Rose, which are very close in color, but slightly different undertones. I need to go from the lashline to the eyebrow just to color correct, with or without eyeshadow. Most concealers crease on the eyes, at least some, and I hoped the combination of color and long-wear-ability would be a winner for this primer so I can just have one step for priming and correcting. I wish it was more pigmented. I wish I could apply it with a brush. I can't say I don't like yet it, but I'm going to keep trying it for a few days and under different circumstances. I'm trying it first on its own, then with liner, and then with shadow. I'll update this review, but I think some of this information would have been good to know before I purchased two.

I like the price. The color is nude and it does keep shadows in place.

I bought this in Rose I think and it came a little dry I think but pretty good it covers veins and other discoloration and I think it helps eye shaddow stay on longer
I had high hopes, but I still have creasing. 3

Dry and Difficult to Use 1
ggdbstan from Virginia
The formula itself is extremely thick and not easy to apply onto the eyelid. When it came to putting eyeshadow on, the primer dried up and made it insanely difficult to blend and apply my eyeshadow.

Terrible 1
Gaby from California
Very dry & hard to apply. I almost felt like I was ripping my eyelids off. Concealer works ALOT better
Dry and rough 2

Very dry, feels hard as a rock, and tough to apply/blend. Can barely get any of my brush. Have to dig my finger in to get any product
insanely difficult to use 1

This primer is insanely dry. I couldn't even get it out of the pot to swatch. The consistency is like Halloween face paint. Don't waste your money.
It's Okay. Not great, not bad. 4

It's an okay eyeshadow base. I have hooded eyes so finding one that doesn't allow my shadow to crease is difficult.
Dry/Difficult to Blend 1

This primer did not work for me at all. It was dry and difficult to blend. After a few unsuccessful tries, it went into the trash. I suppose it's a great value since it's so inexpensive, but I still don't like wasting money on a product.

Perfect if you also bake it before applying eyeshadow
Better than high end eyeshadow primers 5
Jajo from MD
Better than any high end eye primer I've tried.
This is the only primer that keeps my eyelids from creasing!!!! Must buy
Leaves something to be desired 3

Honestly, it's really dry and hard to blend. I find it best to blend using a synthetic brush but you have to move quick before it dries. It does cover the veins on my eyelids well which I appreciate and I think it extends the life of eye shadow, but the formula could use some work.

Does the job 3
Cristina Hernandez from Wichita, Ks
I bought this a couple months ago, I dont like it but I dont hate it. At first the product would not go on to the brush, it was hard to pick up. So i scraped off the top and it worked but only that time. It does get the job done though.
Chalky Yet Dramatic 4
RockyfromNYC from NYC
I bought the white putty eye primer. On it's on it looks chalky. It is dry to the touch. You can build upon it though to reduce the chalky look. Also, with eyeshadow ontop it makes the colors pop. Besides the chalky-ness no complaints. Would I like it to be slightly more smooth on application, yes. But it definitely accomplishes what it is meant to do as a primer.
Chunky and doesn't stick 1
Lacy94 from Florence, SC
I can't really complain much because of how cheap this product is, however I purchased the shade in white and it does absolutely nothing aside from chunk up in balls on my eyelid and smears away completely. Their face primer in the same shade is great, however the eye primer is really disappointing. You're better off using a small amount of concealer.

Works well. Product is thick and dry. Difficult to blend
Really amazing affordable eyeshadow primer 5

I'm usually a concealer user when it comes to eyeshadows, but I do really wanna try this product for a while. At first, I didn't like the consistency b/c I got used to elf putty primer and thought it'll have that, but didn't. I use a morphe concealer brush or fingertip to apply it on my lids to the crease area. I was testing it for a few days and I will gotta say it's an amazing product to use. The reason why I said that b/c I use eyeshadow primers in the past like too faced etc. for an affordable price; you will have nice eyeshadow stay put and the colors will remain the same.
I don't think its suitable for dry eyes b/c it did dry mattify a bit (to me) but, I totally recommend it.
Terrible to move on eyelid at all or blend 1
Amy80 from Warren, MA
I bought the white putty primer and either using a brush or my finger this stuff does not soften up and is sticky and you put it on your lid and it wont blend together and stays patchy. Putting powder on top to set it or even eyeshadow left the setting powder and eyeshadow patchy too.
I will not purchase this again. Wearing it today again to give it another try and yes, my make up stays crease free but the lighter shadows i put on my lids looks patchy. The darker and blacks color eyeshadow looks ok though.
Soooooo Dry 1

Was extremely dry. Made my eyes feel crusty and caked. In addition, creased after a few hours use.
