Most Helpful Positive Review Loving this product !
I use this product in the morning after I shower & exfoliating (using a loofah) . I apply lotion on my elbows/knees/wrists&ankles before applying. Then I use a tanning mitt to apply the product in circular motions to avoid streaks .
I let it dry for the desired time (1,2,3 hrs depending on the color wanted) and then I shower with look warm water (No soap!) to rinse the guide off . It works great ! I usually try to leave it on for 3 hours and It results in a natural deep tan color ! I use it all the time but it could be used for special events as well. No color transfer ! It dries quickly and you really wouldn't know it's a self tanner !

Before I started using this product I was using the St. Tropez gradual tanner and I absolutely loved it but when I ran out I didn't want to spend so much on a tanner when I saw that my ulta started carrying this one for wayyy cheaper. I bought this and the first couple times I used it I LOVED it, amazing color, not too terribly sticky, and it made me very dark. But after using it a couple of times, no matter how moisturized I kept my skin, it made me itch all over my body and I would get these red, inflamed, bumpy, dry, and painful patches all over my body and my face. I do not have sensitive skin what so ever so I have no clue why I broke out in such a painful rash but from reading all of the lower rated reviews I am seeing that this problem is happening to a lot of people. Stay clear of this tanner and if you have a little bit more money to spend, spend it on a good reputable tanner brand.

I've been using St Moriz for about 1 year after I gave up tanning salons. It's been my "go to" for a while due to affordability and great coverage. However the past few times I've been using a new bottle, my entire body is SO ITCHY! I mean I could literally just scratch my skin all over, I've been using the mitt to lightly rub. It's no rash that shows or bumps but the itch is beyond real. I'll be discontinuing it. Not sure if formula changed but the first 30 minutes of application is beyond itchy where I can't even sit in it for hours to get a tan.
Go to for years

I've tried so many products and for over 5 years now this is all I'll use. It's inexpensive enough to commit to using as often as you want without feeling wasteful and it works just as good for me as St Tropez did. I recommend this one because it's super quick and just as good. Literally would throw on a few hours before going out and it would look amazing all week. Never had any fading issues for me, and I'm super pale! Not patches or anything!

Bought this for summer. Not terribly impressed. Goes on very easily, but does not last beyond a shower. Stains materials easily. Will also stain hairline if not careful. I was disappointed that the tan did not last longer. I am now back to the gradual tan lotion within this product line and I can highly recommend.
decent tanning mousse
Nina from Puerto Rico
it gives a nice bronzed color, very natural looking, but i had to exfoliate a couple of times because when this fades it looks like dirt on your skin! i had brown patches!! but for the price its an Ok product. Im refreshing my tan with Vita Liberata to see how i like it compared to this. Im new to tanning, but i followed all the steps, shaved, exfoliated and applied lotion to feet elbows and knees.
Good for the price

I recently decided to switch from St. Tropez to this and I was pleasantly surprised. There are a lot of negative reviews because of 1) streaks, 2) allergic reactions 3) color not lasting long/not dark enough. I think the people complaining of streaks either are not applying it quick enough or don't have a good enough mitt (don't use the st Moriz mitt, it's too thin and will make it harder to apply). I have very fair skin and the color is more subtle than st. Tropez but looks more natural on me. I probably wouldn't recommend it for anyone with olive toned skin, I just don't think you'll get the color payoff you would like. It's definitely less sticky than other fake tanners (feels more like Fake Bake). The color has been going strong and fading evenly. If you're having a hard time with color retaining, you might want to try a primer. My skin chemistry changed when I switch medications and I had to start using a primer to make any tan last. Even if you have to apply this twice as often, 2 bottles are still only about half the cost of one St. Tropez. I would recommend doing a patch test first given all the issues with it reacting to people's skin. I will say it's smells nice going on and I don't smell as strongly like burnt toast in the days after tanning like I do with St. Tropez. Honestly probably one of the least smelling tans I have tried. Tanning is hard, you just have to find what works best with your skin.
I would buy this product again & again!

I don't tan very well, I burn so when a wedding or a party comes up during the summer or anytime this product gives me that glow and is fast acting! Saves money from going to the salon and I don't smell strong like coming out of the spray booth! This product will be in my cabinets every year!!
I would but it again

Not for me
Emmy from Chippewa Falls, WI
I have tried multiple self tanning mousses, and this one is probably my least favorite. Very streaky, transferred onto EVERYTHING, left orange patches even after exfoliating and moisturizing. Probably won't buy again.
Does not last long
Paige from Oregon
My husband always loves it when I put this on for the first few hours. Then we are both disappointed when I shower in lukewarm water as directed to remove the guide color. The tan is way too subtle and doesn't leave a long lasting tan. By the second day, there's no noticeable color left. Exfoliating before and moisturizing the days afterward doesn't seem to help.
Tulsa Belle from Tulsa, OK
Easy application, non-streaking if you blend it carefully, doesn't stain fabric, not drying, but not moisturizing either
Not exactly amazing but I'm not mad about it
Sal from East Tennessee
Just tried this out for the first time. I took all the precautions- exfoliated, moisturized, etc. When applying, I wore gloves and used a mitt, used 2-3 pumps per section, and used a body buff to blend around the feet, knees, elbows, hands and face. I waited for the first coat to dry and applied a second coat. The guide on this product becomes very dark. It has a red base but pulls a green tint on very pale parts of my body. For my face, I mixed half a pump with moisturizer and blended it around my neck with the buff. I waited 3 hours to wash off. The color achieved on places on my body that tan well like my arms and legs was really nice and natural looking and was not streaky at all. Places like my stomach, chest and upper inner thighs achieved very little to no color so I look like I did before from laying out in the sun...it was not evenly distributed like I expected from a self tanner. For some reason it wouldn't absorb into these areas even after applying it correctly and leaving it on for the longest reccomended time. However, I am loving the natural look where I did get color so I'll keep using this product until its gone...and then I'm going back to the normal St. Moriz dark tanner.
It works great 👍

This price is great because it goes on smooth and looks like a real tan. No orange color to it. I will definitely be buying this again!
do NOT buy!
grace from tyler texas
this product was wonderful at first i had a very good tan it was evened out and pretty and after the 2nd time using it it began to look very orange and i got rashes all over my chest no matter how moisturized i kept my body there are dry burning bumps all over my chest and it begins to peel and come off like scratch off of your skin
elis from Denver
It is not streaky or orange at all. It is comparable to the more expensive self tanners but much cheaper. Definitely better then any drug store options. 4/5 stars because it is sticky and is not as dark as I would expect it to be. Definitely buy the darkest shade if you want results.
Just go to the salon
Kay from New York
Second time giving this product a go and I'm already regretting it. I would just rather go to the salon and pay for a spray tan. This product is streaky and doesn't apply evenly no matter how hard you try.
Renee from East Coast
Iv tried a lot of tanners and using this has been a pleasure. I have made repurchases of this product and now am on the tan accelerator and face drops. I'll recommend this to anyone it's awesome doesn't stink or make your skin sticky and tanning isn't all over everything either. Great formula and am very happy I made this purchase
FIRST TIME TANNER SUCCESS LOVE THIS PRODUCT
Pasty Who? Never heard of her! from Alabama
I had never self tanned before, but I'm naturally pasty and new I would fall behind this hot girl summer if I didn't do something. Like any sane person I bought this. it's AMAZING!! NO ORANGE!! VERY NATURAL TAN!! I know I was very scared when choosing tanner, well let me put you at ease. Look up a video and follow it step by step and you will snap back so much sis.
Excellent Color on Olive Skin Tone
Sunrise from Alabama
So this has been sitting on my bathroom shelf for awhile - always hesitant to try a new self tanner but with the Covid-19 closures I couldn't rock a bright colored dress without some color. I was pleasantly surprised with the application and the color. I have a warm olive skin tone and this looks very real and very natural on me. I do not know if it would look as good on other skin tones as this does have green undertones. All in all I would definitely recommend. Even my husband was able to cover my back half 🤣 with no streaking. Ladies we know this alone should be motive to try this product. If a man can do it, honey so can you!
good from chicago
really good self tanner it doesn't look orange at all super natural color and DARK. Reason why i'm giving 4 stars instead of 5 bc it started coming off after only a few days but i'm sure if you continue to reapply you'll be fine
Best Self tanner!
Regan from Columbus
I'm naturally super pale, like alabaster white pale. So I'm always on the hunt for a good self tanner that's not only affordable but will trick people into thinking that maybe, just maybe that I could naturally be a healthy, bronzed tan. I've been using this for a month and my routine is applying once, waiting one hour, applying it once more then showering after 3 hours and it gives me the perfect even tan. No streaks, doesn't smell weird for long, and the tan lasts me a week with no touch ups. Don't waste your money on St, Tropez and just get this!
express tan on a budget!
Jamie from Detroit
If you need a fast tan and don't want to spend $40 on high end tanner; definitely give this a try. it gives really nice color and you get to see results within 1-2 hours. I I do leave it on for about 3-4 hours as I like deeper darker color; never had issue with it. super nice and excellent value !
Would use again
Kasey from NC
Very sticky when applying as opposed to other self tanners I've used. Don't feel like it stays on after 1-2 showers but I applied and washed off the next day and had a very nice tan until showering it off! Would compare to Jergens mousse
Julie from Michigan
I love this stuff! I usually will wear it for the full 3 hours and sometimes I even sleep in it and it always looks great. I've mixed a little into my facial moisturizer to tan my face and have had no problems with that either.
Not as good as the regular
Maria from Chicago
I like the non express one. This one doesn't distribute and I think it dries too fast. It leaves a great color but I'm always getting patchy knees and uneven color with this. I'll use it for the tome being but I much prefer the medium formula that takes longer to develop but looks a lot better.
