There is a better product available than this

About Me Budget Buyer

Pros

  • Blends Well
  • Easy To Apply

Cons

  • cakey
  • enhances pores
  • not suitable for dry skin
  • not suitable for older women

Best Uses

  • Normal Skin
  • young skin without pores

Comments about NYX Professional Makeup Pro Foundation Mixer:

I've been trying out this product for about a month now. I purchased this in white, since I'm very fair with dry skin, and have extreme problems finding a highlighting concealer. I tried this out with multiple foundations, concealers, and primers under my foundation. I tried applying with a brush and a beauty sponge. After a trial month, this product doesn't meet my expectations. It went on fine, but at the end of the day, my makeup looked caked on and actually enhanced my pores and fine lines. I would suggest this for younger women with very little pores, normal skin, and no fine lines. Luckily, I found another lightening mixer that held up extremely well after the first use.

Please note that olive is brown

Comments about NYX Professional Makeup Pro Foundation Mixer:

So, I have the white mixer and really like it to lighten my darker foundations but the olive one is brown. There is nothing olive about it. I was expecting it to give a warmer tint to my pinker foundations but hence, it does not. It only gives it a muddy, grey cast look. I am returning the olive one. Really wish someone would come out with a true olive to accommodate the pinker foundations - turning them more yellow or warm.

Comments about NYX Professional Makeup Pro Foundation Mixer:

*This works best in liquid or light creme foundations/concealers and have not had an issue changing the wear or application or coverage. I have found it's harder to mix (for obvious reasons) with stick and thick cream foundations.

*This product works great for minor adjustment when your foundation shade is in the ball park but not quite right. If you need more serious undertone correction, I'll have some suggestions at the end of this review. For those with deep, dark skin tones, there's also some important considerations (keep reading).

I have the entire line. The white lightens, olive is to add a yellow/olive undertone to foundations that are too pink/peach/cool. White is great for my pale friends who can never find foundation that's light enough. Olive is my go-to because I have yellow undertones and a lot of foundations have undertones that aren't yellow enough for me. Warmth adds more of an reddish-orange undertone. I use warmth to create custom peach-to-orange color correctors in both concealers and primers. The Deep in this line is VERY cool. I LOVE IT to create custom contour shades because it's the right gray undertone that mimic shadows- but a little goes a long, long way.

For those with deep skin tones, warmth is GREAT for foundation that is ashy, but with one caveat- it may lighten your foundation shade depending on the foundation shade. If you're trying to deepen foundation with deep, be warned that it is VERY cool. I would use deep along with warmth so the shade doesn't get ashy and get the right undertone- OTOH, Deep can be a great mixer to create custom contour shades that are too warm.

For those that want a super pigmented undertone correction, consider food dye in primary colors (red, blue, green, yellow).

I love the luminous finish changers in both luminous and opalescent. I often mix them with my primer rather my foundation.

This does require some experimentation but I love the entire line.

      White, olive, deep (color/product review)

      By Ally

      from Columbus

Comments about NYX Professional Makeup Pro Foundation Mixer:

I ordered white, olive, and deep color. I experimented using both high end foundation and drugstore foundation. The white and the olive worked very well in terms of color. The white and olive colors also complimented the foundations I used without changing the coverage or effectiveness. Upon mixing the deep with a nude/medium foundation, I found it made the foundation look very grey. This happened with both high end and drugstore foundations. The deep also changed the foundation formula in my opinion. NOTE: I did not try it on someone with darker skin. I honestly did not want to take the risk based off of the look of the mixture. I tested it on my arm (I'm a warm beige skin tone) and it ended up looking grey still. I took the deep one back, but kept the white and the olive. I am probably just going to buy a very dark foundation for mixing.

NYX Pro Foundation Mixer Caused Breakouts

Comments about NYX Professional Makeup Pro Foundation Mixer:

I tried the NYX Pro Foundation Mixer in White to lighten a high end foundation that was too tan for my skin. It did work and lightened the foundation nicely. The pigment is very good. Unfortunately, after I used it, I broke out. I even had some red, dry patches after I used this NYX product. I've used the foundation before, and I did not have any bad reaction. I used the same primer, foundation, concealer, setting powder and spray, so I know my skin did not react to those products. The one and only difference was that I added the NYX Pro Foundation Mixer. I have sensitive skin. Perhaps if you are not as sensitive, the NYX product will work for you. I just need to be very careful with what I apply to my face.

I love my It Cosmetics CC cream but the lightest shade is just slightly too orange on me - but adding a little bit of the white foundation mixer makes it the perfect shade for me. And this is so inexpensive and gets the job done. Love it!!

This is amazing. Foundations never seem to match me no matter what color I get. I have this in deep, warm, and olive. I'm so glad this exists. I can finally stop spending money trying to find my shade. You only need a small drop at a time so you definitely get your money's worth.

Comments about NYX Professional Makeup Pro Foundation Mixer:

A lot of companies fail to consider the outliers of the skin color spectrum when creating foundation shades, so most foundations are too dark for my very fair skin. This mixer in "white" allows me to use foundations that were previously off limits to me. I don't feel like this changes the finish or formula (I use mostly medium coverage foundations) and it seems pretty lightweight.
