Most Helpful Positive Review It okay good amount for the price I use this primer as an alternative to urban decay. It is thinner and the less amount you use the better. I use it by putting it down after my face primer. I just put a little bit on each lid and blend in and spread around with my finger. Sponge soaks it up too much. And then I go in with my foundation and put what's left on my sponge or brush OVER the primer, then set it with powder with the rest of my face. It's good it's no urban decay but it works better than the super cheap elf one. The less you use the better just spread it with your fingers. It only creases until I put the tiny amount of foundation and powder over it. After that no creasing and I still get great color payoff on my shadows.
Most Helpful Critical Review Not great. I'm always on the lookout for a new holy grail primer because they seem to keep discontinuing the ones I love. I don't have extremely oily lids, but I can't wear shadow without a good primer. This wasn't great. It worked okay over some Tarte Shape Tape and blotted with powder, but that's a lot of work for a primer that should keep my eye shadow looking fresh all day. It's also very fluid, moreso than a primer should be in my opinion. The only plus I can say is that it's a good price for the amount of product you get, but that's more than expected from Makeup Revolution. I bought the cut crease primer they have to try also, I thought I would try that as a primer. This one's going back to the store.

Didn't like this product. Too thin and after trying to apply with fingers, a blending sponge and a brush, I found the product gave very little coverage.
It works! 5

First time using an eyelid primer (Ive used my concealer as a primer for decades), and color me impressed! It's extremely lightweight and sheer, and goes on very smoothly. I find application and blending to be much easier. Best of all, it doesn't crease on my tired old crepey eyes!
Just not for me and my oily eyes 2

I have been on a quest for the best eye primer for oily eyelids and, sadly, this isn't it. I saw several reviews recommending it, but it just didn't work for me. After I applied it and let it set, it felt like it took 2xs as much eye shadow to get my normal color concentration. A few hours later, I still had transfer of color and creasing after using this product. This worked better than some and not as good as others, overall, I was disappointed.

Amy from NY
This primer made my eyelids crease and it's hard to blend because it turns to this flakey texture.
Weird texture 2
Badgalkimmy from New York, New York
I don't know if I got an expired or bad product but this was horrible compared to the one I see people using, it's watery and not thick like it supposed to be. Will be returning

It sort of gets the job done, but I feel like there are better options out there that are also affordable.

So my friend recommended this and I bought it but I'm
not sure it I got a bad batch because it looks nothing like the one she has, it's so watery, going to exchange it
It does what it's supposed to. 5

Overall a really good primer. Good texture, no creasing, keeps things in place. Have bought multiple times and will buy again.
It's been working great for me!!! 5

Let me first start off by saying that what works for me may not work for you. I have been using this for about a month and I have been enjoying it! My shadows last and helps them really pop! I would definitely recommend this eye primer! But I would agree with the other reviews I've read, if you have "oily" eyelids it may not work for you.
Just doesn't stay 2
Tabitha from MO
So I bought this because someone I follow spoke very highly of it. I was disappointed though! It is a very emollient primer so if you have dry eye lids if may be a lot better but I have normal/oily lids and this does nothing for me. I found that a lot of shadows don't blend evenly on the lid when I used this and my shadow (even liquid/cream ones) wore off in my crease area. I've tried using very little, a lot, setting it, not setting it, nothing I did could make it work for me. I will not be repurchasing and I don't even know how I'm going to use this up either! I'm sticking with my Milani or Revlon eye primers!
Horrible 1

This product does not prime or hold your eye makeup on at all. By the middle/end of the day. My liner and shadow had run together. That's what I get for trying to switch primers because of a sale.
I always use this primer for my eye looks 5

I always pay this product down because it is watery but once I do that it's fine. I wish ulta would put cut crease canvas in halo back
Disappointed 3
MzNoemi from Bronx, NY
I was excited to try this when I bought it. No later than half and hour later, after applying, my eye shadow creased. I bought e.l.f. primer several years ago, and for a very affordable primer ($1), it has always worked for me, believe it or not. I have used this particular brand from when it was still a rather unknown company from way back when. The Prime &Lock Primer went on beautifully, blended effortlessly, and made the eye shadow look beautiful when first applied, and that's where it ends. Disappointed.
did not work for me. 2

i was disappointed, thought this would work for my eyes. it creased and faded my eye shadows within an hour.
Great quality 5

I love this eye primer! Eyeshadow blends beautifully over the top of it every time. My eyeshadow lasts the entire day. Highly recommend.
Holy grail primer 5

I use this on top of shape tape, since shape tape is full coverage and I have veins on my eyelids. But it's also matte so I need something tacky on top to help the eyeshadow stick. Those two are a match made in heaven. It also works great on it's own when I'm doing a more natural look.

Did not work well, and I've discontinued use.
Great Primer! 4

Not sure why this has so many bad reviews! I have never had any issues using it! my only complaint is it's not opaque enough and doesn't cancel out any color on my lids. Otherwise its great!
creasing 2
Kelsey from Tennessee
i usually never have a problem with my eyeshadow creasing as i don't have oily eyelids. i was really disappointed in this primer. my shadow hadn't even been on for 2 hours and was already severely creased
Love it ! 5

I really like this ! I've been using this on my upper lid but also as a concealer for my under eye area. After putting on my under eye moisturizer and waiting 2-3 min for it to set, I dot on this Prime & Lock to conceal my dark areas under my eyes. What made me really happy was finding that this also set my foundation under my eyes and I have no creases or wrinkles and doesn't wear off during the day ! Bonus !!!
I'm 60yrs old and have medium skin w/a neutral undertone. This provides a very natural skin look (for me).
Just a concealer in a primer bottle 3

This really did nothing that using my concealer as an eyeshadow primer didn't. Not really worth it.
Didn't Work for Oily Eyelids 2
Stephanie from Eagle River, AK
I really liked the applicator used to apply the primer and the smoothing effect/texture of the product but it did not make my eyeshadow last. I have oily eyelids but never have my eyeshadow slough off with primers like the original Urban Decay eyeshadow primer or the new Anastasia Beverly Hills one. My eyeshadow was almost gone by the end of my work day.
