Most Helpful Positive Review great feel and smooth apply
I use this over specific parts of my face that have a very red tone. It's very lightweight and allows me to use it in combination with another primer. It helps tone down my skin alot. It's not greasy or heavy feeling at all. I love how much is available in the travel size. It's a great product.
Most Helpful Critical Review Very disappointed
I really wanted to love this. I have Rosacea and am always looking for something that will hide the redness. I already use the clear primer plus a powdered color corrector, and was hoping by using this I could eliminate the powdered color corrector. I am hugely disappointed. It made the redness worse and within an hour my face was a total oil slick! It took my foundation and sucked it away leaving nothing but grease and redness. I'll stick with the clear primer and my powdered color corrector until.

It makes my skin smoother and not as red.
Jgee from Brownsburg Indiana
For the money absolutely not. The product itself doesn't hide or cover red like it should or states. I actually had to buy another product to do what I thought this would. I have used other Smashbox products and primer so I thought this one would be worth it.
Smashbox Primers are awesome!!
Jamie from AR
I alternate and use both the original Smashbox PhotoFinish Primer and this one for redness, both are silky and easy to apply and seem to help my makeup go on easier and last longer. I don't have rosacea but usually wake up with some minor redness on my face. This works amazing to cover the redness and even out my color without leaving a green tint behind. I will also use it on my neck where some redness occurs and it just makes my neck look a little smoother and less red. May be a little pricey but only takes a small amount and the bottle lasts longer than you think it would.
So Light and Sheer it's Useless

Very light coverage...needless to say, it doesn't do anything for my redness. Will not buy again.
Would not buy again. Not thick enough to really cover.
Vicky from Birmingham
Used as a primer but not thick enough to really cover.
KenzieJo from Redmond, WA
My absolute favorite primer. I have bought sooo many green primers in the last year trying to find a cheaper replacement and nothing compares. This makes my skin so soft and combats my crazy red cheeks! In love.
Lauren from Atlanta, GA
Love, love, love this primer! My foundation goes on so much better with this primer. Makes my skin feels silky. Doesn't eliminate all red, but definitely helps!
My Favorite Primer

Help even my skin, reduce redness and blemishes Im in Love with this primer
Terrible! It's too oily and makes my face shine all the time
Sue from Rhode Island
I thought this product would help to fade the red spots but actually didn't make any difference!
Works for me!

I have eczema and very redness-prone skin. my face gets red from putting on moisturizer, primer, makeup, etc (which goes away) but it gets super red when I'm in the cold or working out. I loved the original version of this primer and when I found the green I switched to that. on a scale of 1 to 10, the oiliness is like a 6, but that helps to moisturize my skin. Very smooth and not tacky at all. This is NOT an Illuminating primer (which I'm glad about). It's essential during the winter months. I have extremely pale skin and freckles and I can see a visible difference when I wear this. HOWEVER, the makeup you wear also makes a big difference of course. I recently switched foundation and with the new one, I don't need to wear this as much. this primer is pricy and I'm generally poor but it works so well it's one of the items I'll splurge on.
So hyped this product but not worth it

Highly disappointed. Overpriced. Not doing what it claims for me. I think Ulta's store lighting makes products look good in store
But not outside of that lighting.
Dulls the blemish redness but not scarring redness
Lauren from Panama City Beach, Florida
Dulls down the overall redness tone of my skin, especially in areas where I have broken capillaries and/or random discoloration but it doesn't do much for my older (more purple-y scarring). It does mattify so i like that as well, I'd purchase this again and use it in the future for my primer.
I love how soft my face feels
Brit from Oklahoma
I use this product daily before I apply my tinted moisturizer and/or my foundation. It reduces redness and creates a smooth surface. My makeup looks more flawless when I wear this first.
Lindsae from Texas
I don't know why I waited so long to try this! This is great under makeup and alone after skincare. I mostly wear this by itself and just use concealer for under eyes and blemishes and I'm good for the day. My skin has recently become very sensitive to fragrance (natural and synthetic) and this doesn't irritate me at all.
My go-to primer
Chelsea from Shreveport, LA
I use this under my foundation daily. I have very fair and oily skin that's prone to redness. This is the best primer I've found for redness control. I even wear it on days that i don't wear make up. I buy this every time I need primer. Love it.
Smoothing, but doesn't do much for redness
Alison from Boston, MA
This primer makes your skin feel pretty smooth and soft, which allows for easy makeup application. It seems alright as an everyday primer, but I'm not sure that it helps your makeup stay on or last longer and doesn't seem to do that much to cancel redness (like you could not just use this as a color corrector with nothing else on top).

I ordered this product online and when it showed up to my house the bottle was practically empty already. I know I ordered to travel size but I would still expect to receive a product that feels full. I had to shake it and could still squeeze the bottle so the side walls were touching each other before any came out. I won't order this product again.
Not what I expected
Lisa from Waukesha, WI
I have red spots on my face due to Lupus. This product did not tame down the red at all. Sadly, I will be returning my purchase and look for something else.
FabMrsJ from Shiner, TX
A little goes a long way! This product lasts forever! It reduces redness like no other. I have always struggled finding a product that reduces redness...look no further.
The only thing that actually works
Crystal from Morgan Hill
I have tried a ton of different products to reduce redness even very expensive products this one is the best. It doesn't wipe off when applying makeup and it makes your skin feel smooth. Highly recommend!
Does nothing for redness and priming!
Why did I spend $$ on this? from Minneapolis, MN
You're better off priming your face with lotion.
It was good but not what I expected
Loretta from Santa Rosa
I like the product it's smooth but it's my fault because I was looking for a color correcting to cover my pimples and redness, not a primer
Ginderelly from Texas
I have some redness due to sensitive skin and rosacea. The redness is much improved these days (The Ordinary, I'm looking at you!) but I still have enough that I need a little extra help to cover it up. I've heard so much about the Smashbox primers I finally broke down and purchased the travel size to try it out. Glad I didn't buy the full size. It may be just fine as a primer, but it does absolutely nothing about the redness. I have too many other less expensive primers that get the priming job done quite well to think about repurchasing this if that's all I can hope to get from it.
Great redness reduction
meaghan from Minnesota
Use it as primer and it definitely helps with red in the cheeks
Jade from Appleton
I've been using the one from maybelline from a long time now. This one seems like an expensive dupe
