Most Helpful Positive Review compareable to a professional airbrush tan!
I have tried every faux tan on the market. EVERY SINGLE ONE. I am very pale, and being an esthetician and knowing the harm of sun I am not willing to sunbathe. After running out of the st tropez mouse which i was pleased with, I went to the store for more, but they were out, I opted for a sample of this guy instead and I am so glad I did. The color is absolutely beautiful... A natural deep tan. though I am VERY pale, I opted for the medium shade in this as I didnt wanna apply as much to get a good color. I thought st tropez was good, but this guy is GREAT, and lasts about a week. Great alternative to a professional airbrush tan which is about 30$ per session. This product looks the same as an airbrush tan, and you have about a couple months worth of full body application. I'M HOOKED. Its refreshing to finally find a brand that lives up to its claims.
Most Helpful Critical Review Nice color, but took too long to get it and didn't last.
To begin with, I am extremely fair skinned and I was very interested in getting a quick tan for some upcoming pictures. I was a bit afraid to try some of the tanning products that went from zero to full color instantly, I liked the idea of a buildable customized color, so I tried this one. I bought the dark version, and then proceeded to follow the instructions as directed, including showering, etc. I did rub a bit of lotion into my feet, hands, knees, and elbows to reduce pigmentation, and also used a soft buffing brush to massage thin amounts into my hands, feet, and edges of my face. I used the leftover remnants on the tanning mitt on my face as well.
I will say, the tan did apply evenly, no streaking or splotching, and the gradual color buildup was nice for someone new to the process. It's rather forgiving. However, the odorless claim is false, it did have a very chemically smell. The color was not as deep as one would hope after three applications, and this was the dark version. For someone as fair as I am, I expected quite a bit more color payout. I just did a fourth, because I took the first shower since my first application and most of the color is gone. It's been 2 days, definitely not the 2-3 week claim. I will finish the bottle because I have used a lot of it to do my entire body (four times), but I will not repurchase and I do not recommend.

No streaks. Keep it in stock in dark.
Buy this if you want to be yellow
Tina from Jacksonville, FL
I wanted to give this a shot because an ulta employee hyped it up so much to me so I was like why not. Honestly I was super disappointed. After putting it on 2x I noticed a yellow tone in my skin, went to bed thinking it better in the morning after I wash off. NOPE I am still yellow tinted and I do not like it. Not it.
The ANTI-ORANGE Self Tanner
TannedRedHead from Florida
I've used A LOT of self-tanners in my life, and I have never ever found one as good as this one. I see lots of complaints in the reviews from women claiming it turned them green. I don't understand that at all. Yes, this foam has a green tint to it when it's applied. But after a couple hours it looks like a real golden tan. I feel like the company eeds to do a better job of describing their product a bit more, so that people understand that the green tint is to help your skin NOT TURN ORANGE like just about every other self-tanner out there. Its the "pH" in pHenomenal. I'm really upset that my local Ulta stopped carrying it and I have to resort to finding this product online.
The best sunless tanner I have ever tried
JD from MA
It's a long process time but worth it. It did not come out looking fake on me, no orange, a beautiful bronze color. It stains easily so be careful not to splatter, wash off fingers right away, make sure you put down something that you don't mind staining to sit on during the time its on. I just started to use it a couple days ago, I LOVE it!! I have tried many protects this summer and this one wins.
Disappointed, won't be purchasing again in the future.

I was very disappointed. The application was difficult and the mousse does not look like what video shows. I would not suggest going out of your way to buy this, very green, sticky, patchy and scent was almost unbearable. I would invest in a better product.
Cdilla from Missouri
Do not buy! Mousse was very green tented, patchy, and smells pretty awful had to wash off 30 minutes after applying invest in a different tanner, not worth the money!
Not for me!
Lisa from NC
Terrible.....will definitely be returning. Bought 2 bottles on a BOGO half off. Not sure if I received and old batch but the color was very green. It is very tacky, slow to dry, strong odor and washes away to almost no color. In the future, I will stick with Loving Tan or Bondi Sands.
I will definitely be returning
Tamra from NC
I didn't like this product, it turned my skin green & was sticky.
Bad Batch maybe?
Josh from Tyler texas
Maybe just a bad batch. It had a mustard yellow/green tint. I compared it to last year's bottle, and determined I ordered the exact same product. It's definitely missing the bronze tone i was expecting. I was highly disappointed!
This isn't it

The only color payoff I got from this product was a slight sickly greenish tint. It smells terrible and is super sticky. It took about an hour to fully dry down.
Emmy from Illinois
This turned my skin a yellowy green bruise type color and thank god it washed off quickly. Highly disappointed since I've used their tan water and got great color from it.

I have used many self tanners before never with a greenish streaky tint . Very very disappointed
Turned my skin green.

This stuff is terrible it barely shows up.I put it on three times over a period of two days as recommended and it was very blotchy. The only pro is that it didn't have a very bad self tanner smell, but like I said it barely showed up and it was very blotchy and I used a velour tanning mitt!!!
literally wiped off
Madison from chicago, IL
I got dark and it barely changed my skin color. It wiped off of my face when I fell asleep and I only had the tanner in the middle of my face. DO NOT BUY. The color pay off isn't there.
Sticky and smells terrible!
Nicole from Ohio
I only bought the sample pack thank goodness! It was easy to apply and the color came out nice, but it didnt seem to want to dry and I had to keep touching up spots that got wet! It's now the next day and I'm still sticky and the smell is terrible! I cant wait to shower in Hope's the smell goes away and the color stays!
Expensive product that doesn't deliver!
Kelly from Boston, MA
I have tried them all! And this was my second try with vita liberata. Maybe it's just me, but this product deposited almost no color, despite applying it 3 times (per the instructions). I feel confident saying that I get darker from the $12 drugstore sunless tanner.
Kate from Pennsylvania
I have never wrote a review before but I saw some other people complained of a reaction as well. I started to apply this and in less than 5 minuets my face and neck got extremely inflamed and red. Instantly hopped in the shower. I now have severe redness and bumps. Please do not use if you have sensitive skin or do I test spot like I should have. Learn from my mistakes!
If you want a tan, this ain't it girl
Rach from Virginia
This junk is awful. It doesn't smell bad but when I tell you this gave me no color and I let it process for over 12 hours!!!!! I was pasty as a bottle of ranch still. Not to mention when it's first applied/ processing you'll look GREEN. This is not worth the money at all.
Not worth the money
Lauren from Scottsdale, AZ
I bought the "Dark" version, because the ulta I was at didn't carry Loving Tan (which is what I usually use). This is not dark in any way, quite sheer, and applies unevenly. I've been using self tanner for 12 years and I find it almost impossible to get streaks or uneven looking tan with Loving Tan. This one just is not worth the money especially because the color pay off is so weak. I'd stick to Loving Tan if you're considering this, more product and less money, not to mention better product in general!
No difference in skin color
elj from Wisconsin
I bought this after having success with other tanning mousses like Loving Tan and St. Tropez, but I was drawn in by the 2-3 week longevity that this tanner claims. It doesn't work at all. I applied exactly how the directions described and I noticed zero difference in my skin color. I asked someone else if they were able to notice and they weren't able to either. Keep in mind I am very fair-skinned so tanner usually shows up pretty drastically on me. Not worth the money or time it takes to apply the multiple rounds of it. I never write reviews but I couldn't believe how useless this stuff was for such a high price.
Do not buy
Ava from Merrillville Indiana
Used 3 times, nothing showed up at all. Literally woke up in the morning with a slight tint and I was using DARK! very disappointed, going to return. I would recommend the fake bake flawless darker self tanner, that is the one I usually buy but at my ulta they did not have it so I tried something new! Do not buy!
Do not buy

Not worth the money would not use it even if it were Free, horrible products
I would buy this product again
Pops Girl from Florida
Its critical that you use the mitt to apply for the most even color. There is no other self tanner that goes on as smoothly with no sticky feel and almost no odor at all. And the color lasts and lasts.
Nicole from New York
Let me start by saying my original order was actually lost in the mail and Ulta was kind enough to re-mail it to me. But maybe it being lost was a sign. This was very difficult to apply, settled into every pore on my legs, and turned green. I recommend against this product, especially because there are SO MANY ALTERNATIVES for you to try. I'll stick with Tanologist and Loving Tan.
