Most Helpful Positive Review LOVE LOVE LOVE. Please Don't Change a Thing!!
I usually don't write a lot of reviews but OMG, I love this!! It's so different from most cleansers. I had to write this in hopes that this formula will never be changed or discontinued (PLEASE) and that it might help someone else. This product changed my life. That Might sound extreme unless you've been battling with dry, sensitive, acne prone skin for over 15 years into your adult life. It's doesnt foam, it's Unscented, feels elegant and doesnt leave any residue. I've tried everything from prescription to holistic cleansers and moisterizers to no avail; just dryer skin, more acne, and itching, resulting in fine lines and scars. After the first week of using this my skin was soO friggin soft! Since it doesn't foam it doesn't make my skin feel tight and stripped. instead it feels really hydrated and calm. No irritation or dryness so my acne blemishes are healing really fast and my complexion is starting to look a lot healthier and refreshed. I've never been able to use a moisterizer either so I decided to try the oil free sensitive skin moisterizer. its fragrance free and very light so it feels really good on and I havent Had any breakouts with this product either. This Might not be the miracle solution for everyone since everyones skin is different but itis definitely worth a shot. It's amazing.!...Please don't change a thing!

during use feels the same as Cetaphil (equally ineffective at removing make up or sunscreens) however it doesn't smooth the skin like Cetaphil, and the "polyglycerin formula" can tingle as it penetrates around thinner skin, like around the eyes. On the positive, it doesn't cause redness like Cetaphil, probably because it doesn't contain propylene glycol, (a penetration enhancer). I wish Neutrogena would have just removed the fragrance from the Ultra Gentle Foaming formula, instead of introducing this new cleaner! I am done for a while with Neutrogena as I have thrown away several of their new products after few applications.

I tried this product, and as soon as I put it on my face, it was burning, and made my face all red. I'm really struggling to find a cleanser that my skin can tolerate.
Unbelievable difference in redness

I bought this after developing some especially sensitive skin and eczema, hoping it would help my skin regulate back to normal. It was alright at first, and then I realized it was causing breakouts of some sort. I'm fairly certain I'm just allergic/sensitive to one of the ingredients in this, since the foaming version works fine for me. It also doesn't feel like it cleanses to the level I need (sometimes I feel like it just smears the oil/dirt on my face around) even though I'm not a particularly oily person. My mom uses this and it works fine for her (she has rosacea if that helps anyone), but her skin is typically drier. We are product finishers, so now we have to use up a big bottle of cleanser that neither of us want to use. I'd suggest that the company introduces a size between the sample/travel size and the big pump bottle. The little tubes aren't big enough to get a month or two trial out of, but the majority of the big bottle would get wasted if someone decided they didn't like this.

Caused a burning sensation the few times I tried to use it. I can't really say how well it cleanses or how moisturizing it is because I was too focused on removing the product and soothing the burning with cool water afterwards to notice anything else.
I don't know why it works so well for others but not me. I have the same issue with Cerave Hydrating Cleanser and thought it could be the niacinamide in it that burned but this Neutrogena cleanser does not contain niacinamide. I don't experience the problem with the Hydro Boost Cleansing Lotion, so I don't know.
Burned my skin
Ceecee from Philadelphia
I have very sensitive, combination, acne prone skin. I use the ultra gentle daily foaming cleanser. It has been great for my skin. My skin has been dry lately, so I figured I would try the hydrating creamy cleanser. I was very inclined since it said that it was fragrance free. The minute I started washing my face it immediately burned. I wound up getting red bumps all over my face and my skin has been drier than it originally was. It actually ruined the progress of my skin and made it worse. I'm probably allergic to an ingredient that is in it, so I don't not want to write it off for everyone, but I will not use this again.
ONLY CLEANSER I CAN USE
EChitwood from Charlotte, NC
super sensitive skin. Looked 4-ever to find suitable cleanser. Foaming in this same line (ultra gentle) was drying. This creamy formula is SPOT ON. recommend to anyone with sensitive, fragile skin. I love this company! They understand the needs of their clients.

It's very gentle and works great, only not sure if it works to clean water-resistant sunscreen. Wish I can find an answer to that from Neutrogena
Very Good for Dry Skin

I love this stuff. I have very dry skin in the winter, and this effectively cleanses without making my skin feel tight or raw.
MY EVERYDAY CLEANSER
CarlyB from undisclosed
Probably the best gentle hydrating cleanser that is budget friendly. I have recently been buying Neutrogena everything for my skin care needs and I have yet to run into any issues with any products. I have combo skin and I use this twice a day, my skin has never been so happy. I researched so much to find the best cleanser was Neutrogena and any other products are at equal caliber. Amazing, just amazing. I recommend it to everyone because you don't have to worry about it conflicting with any other products.

First time using this cleanser. I have sensitive dry skin. This cleanser is gentle and hydrating. While my face feels clean, it does not have that tight and squeaky feeling. I will repurchase this again.

Love this cleanser. Very gentle on my skin and moisturizing. Leaves my skin feeling smooth and soft
Gentle, but works so well
Ashes Toast from Rochester, NY
Completely in love with this face wash. Typical acne-fighting ingredients (like SA and benzoyl peroxide) make my skin break out, so I usually have to go for super gentle washes. This one doesn't disappoint. I love the feel of it on my skin, I love that it doesn't dry my skin out, and I love that it leaves my face feeling super clean.

Skin type: combination (dry cheeks and oily t zone), dehydrated, sensitive. Very irritating on my skin after 1 use. I could feel it burning some parts of my face when using and gave me irritated/red patches. Didn't work for me but might work for others. I won't be repurchasing.

I'm relieved to have finally found this cleanser!!

The creamy formula. I have used sooo many cleansers and eventually they dry out my face or irritate it. I have combo skin and currently going thru a perioral dermatitis flare up and this cleanser has calmed it down dramatically no exaggeration. I don't use Neutrogena products because most have fragrance. This one does NOT and ingredients are safe for acne prone skin. Finally have a good cleanser which was recommended by Dr Dray. Thank you

An actual gentle cleanser. Doesn't over dry skin, and cleanses well.
First week trying Ultra Sensitive face wash
Trinket35 from Wisconsin
My face looks red and burns. I don't understand why. This is supposed to be Ultra Sensitive formuls, yet after 4 uses this week, I can't sleep because my nose, chin, cheeks and forehead feel chemically burned and look that way too. I am in shock that this went so bad.
Very gentle, non irritating!

I have normal to dry skin. This was my first ever gentle cleanser to try. I used to use foaming cleansers only before. Not sure if I will be sticking with Neutrogena Gentle Cleanser (Creamy Formula) as I would like to try other brands for comparisom. This cleanser is very creamy and feels very soothing on my face. It doesn't cause stinging like the foaming cleansers would for me. It also doesn't dry out the face after I pat dry, and it doesn't pull the skin. I can also skip the moisturizer and my face is fine after this cleanser! But, of course, do not skip your moisturizer! Hope this helps.
Gentle and removes make-up well!
Dare22 from Oakland CA
I have been using the Neutrogena Naturals Fresh Cleansing + Makeup Remover product for many years, I keep one in the shower, one on the sink, and one in my travel bag. I am at an age where I really need to make sure to not dry out my skin, and since I love to use my clarisonic, I generally do a double cleanse with Missha's fabulous Super Off Cleansing Oil as the first step. And even though this gentle Neutrogena Cleanser magically removes my make-up, including my mascara, I don't feel as though I need the double cleanse. It's that gentle!
I might have my two teens start using it in the am as a gentle way to start the day, I don't like all those harsh products that are marketed to teens.
Maybe too gentle?
Customer Smith from Memphis, TN
I love that this is gentle and unscented, but it feels like the product washes away as soon as water hits it thus doesn't actually do any cleaning. This may just be a perception and may not be a bad thing. It definitely doesn't remove makeup, but I use a balm first and use this after in the PM and use it alone in the AM. Not terrible, but I'm considering giving it away and trying something else.
The product is a very light cream. If all other "gentle" cleansers irritate you maybe try this one.
