Why is turpentine used in the New formula??
- Asked by kmog
- Official Answer By Paul MitchellOur products are all reviewed by a safety assessor as we use safe and effective ingredients; the surfactants are appropriate for the intended performance of a given product; turpentine oil has always been in the Tea Tree fragrance at very low levels as it is a naturally occurring fragrance component that provides a fresh balsamic warm pine note and the colorants also used at very low levels give the product its appealing soft green appearance. Was this answer helpful to you

Works Well
ok, let me first say that I didn't want to like this stuff! HOWEVER,,,it does work nicely. I have had a dry flaky scalp for 20 years and this stuff cures it in one wash. I hated the smell in the bottle and in the shower,,,HOWEVER the smell changes once your hair dries and it does smell great duri...

WEIRD NEW SMELL!
I've been using this conditioner for close to a year now. but just recently I think they may have changed the formula because this last bottle I got smelled really gross. Everytime I showered with it I thought not conditioning my hiar would be better than that smell. What's even weirder is that the ...

I don't ever write reviews but felt like i had to with this one… An ulta worker & "licensed cosmologist" recommended this for my thin, fine hair. It was the worst experience I've ever had with a shampoo. My hair felt like literal straw and the tingling sensation was sooooo intense. I hated everything about it. Do not recommend!!!!!
Too many chemicals
I really don't want or need turpentine (nor Methylsothiazolinone and methylchloroisothiazolinone etc) in my shampoo to be absorbed by my scalp skin and lingering in my hair. I was wondering why the latest bottle of it was so strong smelling and really tingled in not a good way.
Works for me
Hair Type Straight Hair
I have noticed a gradual decrease in the amount of hair loss when washing and brushing my hair since I have used this product. That's why I bought it the first time and will continue using it as long as it's effective.
Formula Change
Hair Type Straight Hair
Paul Mitchell changed the formula and removed most of the high-quality essential oil ingredients. And replaced them with... turpentine and a bunch of other chemicals. I had been using this shampoo for 10+ years and am very disappointed in the formula change. This was the only shampoo that worked for my hair + scalp, now I will need to find a new shampoo.
