Juvia's Place The Taupes Eyeshadow Palette: For a perfectly flawless finish every time, make sure this iconic 6 shade nude palette is part of your makeup and beauty routine.
The shades are good, and it's beginner friendly but the matters are sheer and you have to build all of them. I love Juvia's shadows and have most of the mini palettes, so I was excited for this one as soon as it launched. But I was let down by the performance. The shimmers are a little dry so wetting you're brush helps, but you shouldn't have to. If you like a light wash of color this palette is great if you want a bold cool tone look, this palette is one to skip over sadly.
I have a couple of the larger Juvia's Place palettes and was quite pleased with the quality. I expected the same from this palette, but was very disappointed. The shimmers are hard-pressed in their pans, and lack the creaminess and metallic finish that my other Juvia's Place shimmers have. I use a finger for almost all shimmer finishes, and these are not an exception, but even with a finger I have to pack the product on my lid and go over the same spot multiple times to get complete coverage. The mattes are fine, but I was excited to have a small palette that I could get a complete look out of, so the mattes alone don't save this for me. As for the colors, I would consider these to be neutral browns for the most part (neither incredibly warm nor extremely cool). I can get a look out of this (hence the 3 stars), but it's a lot of effort and the end result isn't worth the effort. I would not recommend this palette when there are so many better ones out there across multiple price points. If you want a neutral brown palette, try Going Coconuts from ColourPop. If you want to try Juvia's Place, The Warrior is my favorite palette I have tried from the brand.
I wanted to like this palette so badly, but it was pretty bad. The packaging feels and looks cheap, in my opinion. But i mostly dont like because of the colors. The colors are beautiful in the pan, but there is little to no pigment and they are difficult to build and blend. They also do not last if you do manage to get them on your eyes. I used this palette, and this palette only, everyday for a full week and a half and I never could get it to work. I ultimately returned it, and randomly bought the Colorpop It's Taupe palette instead. it has a very similar feel and already is so much better. If you're looking for the same colors, check that one out.
The matte colors are exactly what I want for an everyday look. The darker matte shade is a perfect grey brown but difficult to blend. You really have to pack them on though to see them so it isn't a quick process to do my eyeshadow in the mornings.
I really like this. Its not super pigmented but the color does build. I love that it is true taupe cool, and can easily be applied as an every day go-to when you want to look put together and not have to fuss. Blends well.
The middle shimmery shade looks amazing in lowlight. The mattes are light but it makes a very nice 2 shadow everyday neutral/ cool eye look. Im happy with it.
Very beautiful shades and very long lasting
