Most Helpful Positive Review Heaven sent!
This was the most difficult thing I have purchased... The price was outrageous but hearing that it cut drying time in half sounded like the holy grail. I have very thick long hair that takes about 40 minutes to blow dry and another half hour to style (curl or straighten) I always am running late to events and never have time to dry my hair right. Conventional hair dryer always make me all sweaty because my hair holds heat like a fur coat. This sucks because it messes up my makeup or makes makeup hard to put on. This dryer dried my hair in 13 minutes! And it straightened it too! My sister saw me and asked me if I had gone to the stylist. She didn't believe it was just a blow dryer. It also doesn't make me turn into a sweaty mess!!! Definitely worth it!!! Have never written a review but had to for this!!
Most Helpful Critical Review So disappointing
I really wanted to love this dryer, after all....it cost a pretty penny and we have other wonderful Dyson products in our home. But alas, I was completely shell shocked. I used this dryer a few times, and with minimal product in my hair and although it dried it a little faster than I'm used to, my hair felt tacky and dried out, like straw - each and every time!! I have a lot of hair, and it is naturally curly and fine. I've been blow drying my hair straight for over 20 years and I've only ever used salon hair dryers, and have always had a perfect hair day blowout. My ol' faithful Solano hair dryer is still going strong after 10-12 years, so I'll stick with it. Like the good ol' saying, if it ain't broke, why fix it. I should have known better than to buy the 1st edition of this dryer, as I never buy a first edition anything, for obvious reasons. Sorry Dyson, but you'll have to go back to the drawing board on this one.

Let me start off by saying I typically don't write reviews on products, but I figured this one deserves one. I went back and forth for awhile deciding if I was going to buy this hairdryer because honestly the price is a lot for a hairdryer in my opinion; however, I'm so glad that I did!! I did a lot of research on it and read many many reviews. I will say I was a little concerned after reading some reviews about it drying out peoples hair, but after talking with my hairstylist about it and kinda "learning" how to use it this is the best thing I've ever bought! I have about shoulder length hair and it's fine but I have alot of hair. I like to leave my hair wrapped in my microfiber hair towel for 20-30 mins to get alot of the moisture out but I don't always have time to do that. One night I had my hair in my towel for about 10-15 minutes and let me tell you (because I did time it) my hair was dry in 2 MINS!! Unheard of with my Revlon hairdryer. I will typically start off on the highest heat setting and "blast" my hair for a few mins then drop it down to a medium or low heat setting for the remainder. My hair is super soft and shiny afterwards with hardly any frizz & the attachments are great too! :)

I have thick curly hair, and this dryer dried it so fast and frizz free!!! I'm honestly mad at myself for not buying it sooner! Just get it!!!
A must have

After a while of thinking if I should spend the money on this hair dryer I took the plunge and purchased it. This is a must have for your hair cae routine. It does leave my hair with some volume because I have fine hair. Great product so far.
Worth every penny
Lilliana from New York
It was time to replace my old, heavy and loud hair dryer. This was the perfect replacement. Light weight, quieter, faster and better attachments
Worst dryer ever
Jamie from Michigan
This dryer severely dried out my hair and it had zero volume. I used it a total of 3 times and each time I noticed significant dryness. I will keep using my ghd Helios which is awesome! I only bought the dyson because of all the hype and found it it was all hype. Terrible!

I have been debating on buying this since it came out. I have high porosity curly hair that takes forever to dry. I have the Xtava black orchid blow dryer with diffuser and it's good, but extremely heavy! I would always end up with frizz no matter what I did. The first thing I noticed with the Dyson is that it didn't disturb my curls at all while drying! My hair dried so fastand with no frizz, plus it is really lightweight in my opinion. I'm only sorry for waiting so long and missing out on the limited edition blue!
High price but worth it
Casey from Jacksonville
My hair is so curly and gets super frizzy. This has helped my curls and even though price is high, in my opinion it is so worth it!!! Love this! And I love that the attachments are magnetic!
Brittanie from Oshkosh Wi
I was so skeptical buying this product. But this such a time saver it blow drys my hair so fast. It's so light my arm doesn't get tired while doing a blow out. And all the attachments are so amazing.
This is the best ever for my curly hair! Believe it!

It's way more expensive than anyone ever wants to spend on a hairdryer, but if you are obsessed with getting the perfect head of curls, this is the answer and worth every painful penny! If you know how to blow dry curly hair, the Dyson will be your miracle! I have thin 3B hair--so curly ringlets about "circumference of a Sharpie marker" (quoted from functionofbeauty.com). My curls need encouragement in the winter. I bought this dryer in winter, and I am over-the-moon happy with it. My advice for those who have my kind of hair: apply a small amount of conditioner while in the shower (I use Olaplex), rinse a bit, and then bend over and squish it in and up. Out of the shower, apply your fave curl cream or lotion before you put any towel to it. I then squish/dry with a paper towel or two, or I use a microfiber towel. The paper towel is better, even though I am using a lot of paper. Make sure your curls are where you want them. When you use the dryer, cup your curls in the diffuser, and alternate between the lowest heat and no heat. The dryer can go way up in heat. The first setting is hot enough in my opinion. I bend over right and left to do the sides, and completely over for the top and back. When my hair is almost dry, I give it a cold shot or two with the dryer. Et Voila!--I have a head of bouncy curls with volume! Because I have such great results, I am inspired to let other curly girls know. I think you will love it!

No I did not. Due to my Ulta account being hacked. I called immediately after receiving order notification to cancel order. The order was shipped to a NY city address, so I guest you need to direct this review to who used my account,

I got it for Valentine's Day and I'm so in love with it! So light weight and easy to use! A bit expensive but definitely worth the cost!
Fly away attachment

Fly away attachment is a game changer. It works so well on my fine thinner textured hair. My husband even noticed.
Not Worth the Money!! Dyson is slipping!

Spend your hard earned money somewhere else! I purchased the fuchsia/pink colored hair dryer on another website because it was on my wishlist for years. I have long, thick hair and drying my hair caused it to be dry and brittle, even when I tried using it with deep conditioner and other products in my hair. The dryer also came with its matching magnetic stand which did not hold the dryer in place. It fell off the stand and hit the wall (which caused a fuchsia/pink colored mark on the wall) and it then fell floor. While using the comb attachment, the attachment will turn itself while I dried my hair which became very annoying. After dealing with all of this, I returned it to the retailer I purchased it from after a month of use. Find a better value dryer!
I would definitely recommend this hair dryer!!!
Tinker from Yardville NJ
It is very quiet and lightweight. It drys my hair in minutes.
If you're contemplating because of the price... DO IT!

I looked at the Dyson hair dryer for about 2 months before taking the plunge to purchase and I wish I would have done it sooner. I had a pretty good, luxury hair dryer previous to this so I kept thinking I don't need this right now, I have a great hair dryer. BUT the Dyson blew my previous hair dryer out of the water! First of all, my drying time went from about 10 minutes to maybe 2-3 (not to mention it's way lighter than any other hair dryer I've used). Secondly, the attachments have been SO helpful in shaping/styling my hair. And lastly, I have not had a bad hair day since purchasing. I never really write reviews unless I LOVE a product and I can say I will never be using another hair dryer again. The Dyson has given me soft, beautiful, always stylish hair. I also read a lot of reviews with people complaining that the dryer has just stopped working and wanted to wait until I've had it for 3 months to write the review and make sure this didn't happen to me. It's been working perfectly since I opened it. 10/10 will recommend over and over. The sooner you buy it the happier you'll be.
Overpriced & Not Great
Angela10angel from SoCal
This took twice as long to do 1/2 as good of a job on my hair as my Rusk hairdryer…if it hadn't been a gift I would return it. I might work okay on thin, straight hair…but it causes my curly hair to frizz & tangle when I tried to do a blow out. Only positive is that it's lightweight.
Fried my hair
Mel from Vegas
I looked to see if anyone else said the same things and there are similar comments. Ruined my hair texture and made it dry and frizzy. Gave it a chance and it fried my hair. There are much better dryers on the market. I don't understand why this is so hyped up. It's god awful.
Not for all hair types
Brookie B from Long Beach, CA
After using about two weeks I started to notice that the ends of my hair were fried and starting to break off. I have somewhat thin medium length hair. I used heat protectant but something wasn't working with this dryer and my hair. I wanted to love this but I had to return it if I didn't want to end up bald.
I would definitely buy recommend this !
Lori from Charlotte MC
I love that I can dry my hair quickly without exposing it to all the heat other hair dryers create
Easy to Use but Electrical Cord is Ridiculous!!
Shel-Shel from AZ
The Dryer itself is compact, light and powerful which I love however the power cord is crazy ridiculous and for the price the dryer should come with a storage bag.
Love Love Love!!!
Crystal from Hampton, VA
I have been eyeballing this hairdryer for a long time, but couldn't justify spending that much. Finally took the plunge and I'm in love!!! It dries my hair quickly. I have also let my 10 year old use it by herself without worrying. My daughter did not ever want to dry her hair with a regular hair dryer for the fear of burning herself and the air being too hot. She has said this is easy! I still think it's costly, but all Dyson products are and the company has a good rep! Overall, I'd highly recommend.

My Husband and I saw this blow dryer and thought it might be an option to replace my old one. He did some research for me and decided I should get it. I didn't jump on board right away. Every time we went to Ulta we would see it and he would tell me to just buy it. Finally I had some points saved up, a Christmas return and some money burning a hole in the in my pocket I guess so I decided to do it. The first week I had many pros and cons. Pro- it is not as loud as other blowdryers which meant at 3am getting ready for work the whole house doesn't hear me. It dries pretty quick and not super heavy. Con- it was twisting my hair into knots and after like 5 times I was thinking it was going to be a return. These knots couldn't be brushed out either. They were full on brushed and in the end pulled out. Before I returned it I decided to turn down the air by one click and it stopped my problem completely. I also didn't feel like it increased my dry time. I absolutely love it now. Will never own a traditional blow dryer again. Anytime I travel it fits in my carry on. Even if I take 5 pairs of shoes for 4 day weekend getaway. I did go one trip to Vegas without it once and that will never happen again. My hair felt awful using the blow dryer they have in room and my hair showed it. So with that being sad just buy it, play with the settings and I am sure most people will probably say the same thing I am.

Definitely an investment but this dries my hair extremely fast and I notice substantially less frizz than with any previous hair dryers (T3, Chi, etc).
Hannah from Jonesboro
I have super frizzy and curly hair. I've never been able to wear it natural or blow dry it. The diffuser on this dryer made this possible for me! I would definitely recommend it!!

It's nothing special. My Connie is better. I will be returning this week.
