Previously I was a routine purchaser of an Aveeno sunscreen that was mineral and had an SPF of 30, but after that seemingly disappeared from Ulta overnight, I had search for something else. I found this product after I had begun using more Pacifica products, and so far I've enjoyed it! It's a thin formula that spreads fairly well. It has a very faint tint to the formula (likely to help combat the white cast mineral sunscreens tend to leave) and smells like coconut! I know other people have mentioned that it does need to be worked in, but frankly that's just about all mineral sunscreens on the market (and a fair trade off in my book to avoid chemical UV absorbers). Any sort of makeup I've applied over this has applied wonderfully so long as you don't use any sort of excessive rubbing or buffing. Cost wise it's also very affordable (seeing as Ulta constantly has coupons available as well) and a fair price for protecting your skin!

I love this brand and all that they stand for, so I was naturally excited when I saw that they came out with a face sunscreen, since I am a Florida native. However, the formula was way too thick, took forever to rub in (even using a small amount) left my skin feeling oily, heavily coated so much so that it was white from the sunscreen. Also, the smell did not remind me of any coconut flavor/scent I've ever encountered. I can say that for the price, I will not buy again and will not be finishing the tube I have already purchased, sadly. I hope that they can perfect the texture and smell in the near future.

I've been looking forever for a good mineral sunscreen to wear to work and this is the closest I've found! It does leave a minimal white cast, but it's not really noticeable (although, for reference, I have red hair and super pale skin). It isn't greasy or sticky and layers really well. Some people have commented on the weird texture and that is true- I opened my bottle and it had this brown liquid and then the really thick sunscreen, but it really helps if you shake it before using. I do also wish it had a higher SPF.
Black girl approve? Oily skin?
richachey from Humid
As a black girl with oily- hyperpigmentation acne prone- sensitive skin this worked fantastic in humid weather. yes, it leaves a white cast. What I did to combat it is patting it into my skin rather than rubbing it into my skin. after like 20 minutes the white cast fades away, like the sunscreen melts into my skin. This sunscreen also works great under makeup & foundation that has SPF in it.
Wanted to love it

I think I got a bum tube but it was SOOO chunky and the fragrance was horrible. Also slightly sticky. I love Pacifica sunscreens but this one I'll have to pass on :(
I like it!

It's p good. I've tried a lot of sunscreens I like how this doesn't feel greasy
Maxine from Minneapolis, MN
I am a big fan of Pacifica, but this product is horrible. I am sure it works ok for sun protection, but it STAINS/RUINS CLOTHES. I am so bummed out - it stained a brand new pair of shorts. I've tried spot treating and all the tricks, but the stain is there for good. I applied this product sparingly and let it absorb before dressing, but it still rubbed off. Beware!

Don't. I'm begging you. I have translucent snow white skin and even on ME there was a chalky white cast?!?! I was unaware that could even happen on my skin tone but this product found a way. It also pills up on the skin when other products are placed on top of it OR BY ITSELF. It truly defies physics, only buy this if you're using it for scientific research.

Love! Smells nice and goes on smooth.
Best face sunscreen for combination skin &lighter complexion
Linz from Burlington, VT
I use this product every.single.day. It's a little harder to blend in when not in-front of a mirror, but all in all, a little goes along way. I accidentally forget to put it on before a walk and got a sunburn so it really works! It's never made me breakout, but as I'm nearing the end of the bottle I bought in November 2020, it is getting clumpy so time to buy a new bottle!
Mineral Face Shade

Love this! I blend it with my foundation for extra protection for my face.
Love this mineral sunscreen!
CatMother from Indiana
This is one of my favorite sunscreens, especially considering the price. Considering the price, I would consider it my favorite. It has a slight tint, so I don't get any white cast. I don't notice a smell. I always shake the tube because it does separate a little, but it still is easy to apply.
Sadie l. from San Diego, CA
Good mineral sunscreen. Most other face sunscreens irritate my skin but this one doesn't. The texture out of the bottle is kinda clay like but it's not drying. It does have a white cast to it.
Love Pacifica sunscreens but...
Meg R from Ashland VA
Since I use and love several Pacifica sunscreens, I'm wondering if I might have received a bum tube of this. Unlike all the others, this one comes out chunky and unevenly even after shaking. Once applied it spreads and is fine. I will purchase again.
Affordable Mineral Daily SPF
Jerrica from Indiana
I use this product as a daily SPF, and I think it works really well as far as a mineral sunscreen goes. Of course it takes a little longer to rub in, but that's the case with most mineral SPFs. SPF 30 is great for everyday use. It has a weird texture, kind of chunky and liquidy. I shake it before using, and despite the weird texture I get great coverage. I've been using it daily for a couple of weeks now and I haven't broken out. Pacifica products are very affordable and this works well for me, so I will be repurchasing.
Wandas from Pittsburgh, PA
This is so far the best daily mineral spf that I have found. Comes out looking a little strange but goes on smooth and doesn't leave a whiteness (but I'm pale.) There is no overpowering odor which is great. All in all I'm very happy with it.
Too Much Fragrance
Mari from Seattle, WA
I like the formula in general and the feel of this sunscreen. It dried okay without too much white cast. I have pretty dry skin and this was thick and moisturizing, without feeling too heavy.
However, it does have a strong fragrance that did not die down. I couldn't keep it on for very long as the smell was making me ill. I ended up washing it off after about 20 minutes. It smelled like coconut and perfume, reminded me of old beach sunscreen.
I'd like to try this again if they remove the fragrance. I was hoping this could be a daily facial sunscreen. This might work for you if you like the fragrance or if you're not bothered by scents.

Horrible white cast even on medium complexion and makes skin look super dry
BarbaraD from CT
Goes on thick, so a little goes a long way, but doesn't make my skin feel
Skincare junkie from Hemet, CA
I m really happy with this product. I like the smell and a little of it gkes a long way. I also think it helps my skin look brighter thanks to the caffeine and probiotics in it. The only issue is that it does leave a slight white cast but my makeup covers that up. I get dry skin occasionally in some spots and this really helps with that as well.
Best Face Sunscreen
Lauren B. from Palm Coast, Florida
Mineral face sunscreens are the way to go for non-greasy, skin-softening protection from the sun; this one has those factors, along with a fantastic scent!
Not a fan
christim10 from undisclosed
I was very excited about this product and have tried to use it a few times. I am really not a fan of the fragrance nor the feel of the lotion. I appreciate that it is marketed as a natural product but I will not purchase again
Broke me out
Anne from San Francisco, Ca
This sunscreen burns my face when I put it on and makes my skin red. It also causes me acne. I don't notice much sun protection maybe cause it's only spf 30 and I've always been using spf 50 from another brand. This was cheaper that's why I wanted to try it, but I will not be buying another one.
Won't buy it again
Karla from Houston Tx
I wanted to give this sunscreen a try bc is vegan and cruelty free, is not the best protection bc is 30 but is better than nothing, is not so smooth when applying and it leaves my skin looking pale so if you have dark skin I do not recommend it for you bc it would leave you looking super pale
Abbydesouza from Trinidad and Tobago
I bought this product a couple years ago and haven't stopped using and rebuying since . This product is especially great for acne prone sensitive skin . I actually find it helpful with managing oil production as well . It does leave a white cast but it's definitely due to the zinc oxide which is amazing for acne prone skin. I use this daily and really enjoy using it as a base to my makeup or just a little when I'm going bare skin.
Great for oily skin!!!
Ashley from Indiana
It's pretty thick, however if you put this on and mix it with your moisturizer, it spreads very nicely and leaves no white residue!
Please Never Discontinue!
Steeph from Toronto, ON
I'm obsessed. My skin is very sensitive to spf, most mineral spf will make my skin dry and flakey. This is SO well-balanced with hydrating ingredients that it blends in easily and feels glowy and hydrated. Will live a minor white cast, as will all mineral spfs, but really nothing substantial for fair to light-medium skin tones. Normally I give up on wearing a daily spf, but I have no problem using this every morning. I love it, I need it, I'm going to buy it forever.
