Garnier Charcoal Mask I'm fairly new to face masks in general, so I wasn't sure what to expect or look for with Garnier SkinActive Black Peel Off Mask with Charcoal; it promised to shrink pores, and while I didn't see a significant change in pore size, I don't have gigantic, gaping pores, either.
I slapped some product on my nose and chin; I had to apply a couple of layers to make it opaque. My skin started feeling tingly (in a good way), and it smelled nice as well.
The package recommends to let dry for 20 minutes, but I think my layers were a little too thick because even at 30 minutes, some parts of the mask were still a little tacky.
Nevertheless, I procedeed to grasp a corner and peel; you might want to grab something with a flat tip to help you with this part, because it dries like vinyl and it's a little hard to grab a corner at first. It peels off in once piece pretty easily, too. I inspected my skin: it looked good, but it didn't look that terrible before the mask, either.
A few days later, I started getting a couple of cystic pimples on my nose, so I tried the mask to see if it could bring them to the surface. I went through the motions, and was suprised that my pimples ACTUALLY came a little more to the surface, enough to where I was able to remove them with a facial tool.
Verdict: feels great, application not too messy, but did not see a significant change in pore size. May be able to bring pimples to surface for removal.
Disclaimer: I received a free sample in exchange for my review.
Effective but Not I was sent the Garnier SkinActive Black Peel-Ofd Mask with Charcoal to try for free from PinchMe.
I had very little expectations going into this as I'd seen several fails from all sorts of other brands' peel off masks. Since I was sent this for free and had nothing to lose, thought I'd give it a try.
To start, application was easy. The black goo came out of the tube easily and layered well on my face. There is a choice to apply this product to only your nose or to your T-Zone area. I went full-out and chose my entire T-Zone.
After waiting for 20min (as directed), 95% of the mask was dry and ready for peeling. That's where trouble started for me. The peel was not easy to remove. I had to scrape at my skin to pick up an edge which I didn't like. After getting a section started, I was able to peel off in large chunks but found some areas weren't dry. After peeling everything, I saw very little "impurities" on the mask. I don't have many blackheads to begin with so seeing it remove maybe one or two after so much work wasn't making me feel willing to try it again. The other downside was the part of the mask that didn't dry. Using warm water to remove residue (as directed), it was very difficult to remove from my skin. A lot of tugging and pulling again.
Overall, my final verdict is to not use this again. I would suggest if you're looking to wreck your skin, then I'd say buy this, but if you want to nurture your skin, steer clear. There are much better products out there that remove impurities.

Applied the mask, took around 30 minutes to dry. Definitely felt like it ripped my baby hairs out, and I accidentally got some mask on some parts of my eyebrows, and theyre gone because this mask takes everything. So be very careful around your hairline and brows. Other than that, its a pretty good mask. Applied before bed, so hopefully i see a difference when i wake up. Also, very VERY strong alcohol smell when applying. Almost too much. I'm not really sensitive to smells and this was too much for me. My skin feels pretty soft right now after I took it off (slowly snd carefully).
quite good for baby hairs but not pores 4

I was looking for something really strong like pore strips to use on the back because I have tha thing where the hairs don't fall out properly and get plugged. So it worked alright, and then I tried it on my face and it got little baby hairs but nothing quite like a pore strip but it's still a good product
I would not buy this product again 1

The mask went on great, but when it came time to peel it off. It would break apart easily and quickly, making it hard to remove. I tried adding more peel product each time to see if that was the issue, but it was still the same result. I eventually tossed it. Not a fan favorite for me.

Flakes off instead of peeling. I ended up having to use a warm washcloth to get some remainder off. Didn't really clear pores or blackheads on my chin. My nose feels a bit smoother, but that's it.
