Most Helpful Positive Review Seems to work great
This is my first time leaving a review on pretty much any beauty/skin product, but I thought that this product definitely warranted a review.
Now, to be fair, I have only been using this product for a couple weeks now, and I do plan on coming back in the next month or two and reviewing again to give a full, honest review. However, this is one of the few skin products I have ever used that I can really, truly see a difference after even 1 use, much less multiple uses. Okay, so here goes:
* First, my skin type/conditions: Fair skin, slightly sensitive, oily (not excessively, just average oily along the T-zone), combination/dry skin, and sufferer of acne breakouts (at age 27 no less!)
* Okay, in regards to how to use the product, just follow the directions on the container. Dampen a cotton ball (I squeeze out excess water), dip into product (lightly dip and shake off excess loose powder), and then apply by pressing the powder mixture on the areas desired and leave for 10 minutes, rinsing off. Pretty simple, and I do it exactly this way.
* Pro's: It truly seems to help draw out all the nasty gunk in my blackheads, which in return also helps them look smaller! I noticed this just after one use, and now that I've used it several times (I don't do it more than recommended, 1-2 a week), I can see an even bigger differance.
It doesn't dry out my skin (which is usually a problem I have with a lot of products), and I have personally noticed that I have a bit less excess oil on a daily basis on my nose (where I primarily use this product). This has not caused me to break out at all, nor discolor my skin where I apply it. It doesn't really have a smell, or if it does, it's slight enough that I haven't really noticed it.
* Con's: The only "negative" thing I really have to say about this product, which is more of a heads up, is that while this is drying during the 10 minutes on your face, it does flake off a bit. Not chunks, just kind of dusty. More so on a more mobile part of the face such as the chin area. It's nothing drastic, and it's not like it's hard to clean/dust off of anything.
Overall, I really like this. You get a lot of product for a great price, and it works too!
I didn't give it a full 5 stars, only because I feel that would be a bit premature until I have more time with the product.
Hope this helps!!!
Most Helpful Critical Review Reasonable Results with a Lot of Mess
Reading the original reviews on this product, I was skeptical of buying into it, but in the end I am pretty pleased, for the most part. The product itself mimics the look of baking soda or powdered sugar to the eye, and first has that feel when applied to the face. Following the directions given per the MB team, you will come to find that Silver Powder is VERY messy to apply. Going from powder to paste, as other people have mentioned before myself, Silver Powder can be tricky to fully or equally apply to the face. When applying, do so over the sink or counter as there will be fall-out; there are times where I have found the product can 'ball up' during application, so be prepared for that possibility, as well. Patience is a must with this product because if you're in a hurry, you're gonna get aggravated fast. As the paste dries back into powder once on the face, you may notice quite a bit of flaking/'fall-out'; I definitely go through this every time I use it, and again, recommend you stick around somewhere where mess is easily cleaned, like the sink or etc. Upon time for removal, do go by the MB directions and remove with a toner/astringent; I would not recommend using plain water as I tried this and ultimately paid for it as it just smeared the powder around my facial skin, making it look like I had worn full-on white Halloween facial cream that left a residue behind. When the Silver Powder is used correctly, I believe it can do some good; I noticed some minor blackheads were reduced or 'blurred' and my pores were tightened and minimized a bit. Would I say that it actually removed blackheads? No. I would also like to say that I WOULD NOT RECOMMEND USING THIS ON YOUR WHOLE FACE; use it for problem areas, such as your chin, nose, forehead and what not. I say this because I recently made this mistake, and OH boy, I paid for it - my facial skin was tight (in a bad way), irritated, red and dry for quite a bit afterword. Silver Powder is decent, not sure I would re-buy.

I have super oily skin, and this product mattifies it so well! I'm obsessed with it. I will never go without this product.

Background, I've been using this product on and off for a few years only when I feel like my acne prone skin is desperate for something different.
So here's the best way I've found to use this product. MIX IT WITH YOUR FAVORITE SCRUB/MASK. You get the same benefits but it turns into a usable mask-like paste that isn't a mess. I just take a little of the powder in my hand, squeeze some mask in there with it, add a little water and after it's on my face, I let it sit for a few and rinse away. It doesn't flake off like if you used it by itself. I do it a 2-3 times a week. I've only seen a difference in my skin after using it like this. And sure you could say it's the other product but it's not. My scrub mask does one thing, this does another and I can tell the difference. Try it for yourself!
Love Mario Badescu, and Silver Powder is in my top 10

I really enjoy using this product. It's powder, so yes, it can get messy. I apply using the lid. Thayers chilled cucumber witch hazel works lovely with this powder, as most liquids do. I keep adding powder to the liquid in the lid until it's thick enough to form a medium paste. I always start with my nose, making sure to get around the crevices of my nostrils. Then I spread up between my brows and form an arc out to brow ends, from nose I spread out a little bit further towards cheeks and any area pores are an issue, then down across my entire upper lip and around to my chin.
I get a towel and place it across my chest, and lap if necessary, to catch Flakes as it dries, and remain as still as possible through the drying process. Results are always good. Sometimes I even spritz the facial spray with aloe, herbs and rosewater on my face for a bit longer of a treatment.
one of the only products I buy over and over

Yes, it's messy. It will flake off as it dries. But these are easy things to put up with for its effectiveness! When I started using silver powder once a week in my routine, I definitely noticed some blackheads getting cleared of dirt. Now I use it twice weekly and along with other products aimed at clearing blackheads and minimizing pores, I am seeing RESULTS. My skin isn't perfect but it sure is better than it was before I started using this. Also another plus is my oily skin is NEVER as matte as it is after using this and it feels so good.
Apply it only to your problem areas w/ pores/blackheads. Apply over a sink and do not move while you're waiting the ten minutes for it to dry. I always use a cotton pad with toner to remove and then go over again with toner on a clean cotton pad because there's gonna be some powder left behind.
My skin can be sometimes sensitive but I haven't had a problem with this. In the winter when my skin gets flakey I only use the silver powder once weekly.
This Gets All The Hype!!!

My nose was always covered in blackheads. The first time I use this, they were barely noticeable! It works as long as you use it correctly. I recommend using a wet qtip instead of a wet cotton ball. (Rub it on like a paste, not pat.) It's too messy with a cotton ball. Remove it with a toner after 10 minutes. It gives your nose/T zone a matte finish and leaves your skin unbelievably soft. Honestly blown away, since I was so skeptical. This wasn't my first time trying Mario Badescu. I use their face wash, toner, and moisturizer and it's been my favorite product for a few years now. Silver powder is definitely worth it!

First time user. 48 years old. Skin looks great after first use, no blackheads. I am amazed.
Didn't work for milia
Acarleenb from Virginia
have 5 milia spots around my eyes. While I know this powder isn't advertised to remove milia, I did read quite a few reviews and online that is was successful at removing milia after just a few uses. As of today, I have been using the power twice a day for a full week and it's made no difference on my milia. It may work for what it is specifically made for but I only tried it for milia. For that reason, I did give it 5 stars as I don't feel a low star rating is fair as I did not buy it for its actual purpose.
Kirsten from Delaware
I put a little bit of water on a cotton pad and dab some of the powder into it. Then apply it on my T-zone until there is no shine.
WORKS! IF Used CORRECTLY
Zee from San Diego
So I've had this product for awhile....and the first times I used it, I felt like it just left my face dry. I applied it with a damp cotton pad like the instructions said...BUT! I was removing it with water after like a regular mask. This MUST be removed with a toner/astringent like the instructions say. I started removing it with a cotton pad using the Clinique Clarifying toner. ITS MAGIC! Gets rid of all my white heads on my nose/T zone. It's amazing! Leaves my skin looking clearer.
Does not work

This does not do anything for my face. It makes a mess and does not fully come of making your face feel weird. I want a refund
Make a paste
SissyB from TX
Ive been using this for well over 15 years. First heard of the line from Martha Stewart.
I guess I have honestly never read the directions. Ive always tipped a teaspoon full in one of those teeny clear glass prep bowls added a few drops of bottled water , stirred into a paste and painted it on with a flat shadow brush. Usually just nose, chin and any breakout spots.
Let dry...it drys fairly quicklt...they remove either with a damp warm face cloth or in the shower.
Amanda from Illinois
Amazing. Definitely great for reducing the appearance of sebum collections/blackheads. I will say that It does not remove blackheads because blackheads are deep underneath the skin and will require some thing a little bit more deeply cleansing like salicylic acid masks to remove but it does make them less noticeable and DEFINITELY CAN see a difference in pore color and size. Bought this and the whitening mask as my first two products from them along with the drying mask and love love love this product. My boyfriend begged for this in the white and a mask for his birthday as well and I love it but it does take a little bit of getting used to in application though.
Mario is a favorite product line
Serenitylynne from Virginia
I've always been happy with this line of products but I can't figure out really how to use or why. There are 3 other MB products for breakouts. So I'm not sure if this one is for constant problem skin or what. It didn't feel good so it might be because I simply and lucky enough not to have the skin this is most useful for. I would recommend just because of MB name but with reservations.
Hard to use
Steph from PA
You are supposed to take a damp cotton ball and dip it in the powder... it either falls off the cotton ball or sticks to it. When i have gotten on my face its either too runny or too pastey... its frustrating
does nothing but get everywhere!
ava from virginia
my caption says it all. i have really bad blackheads, and I used this once a week as directed and it was awful! it gets everywhere before the time is even up to wash it off my face and gets into my eyes. i see no difference in my face either when I use it
Best Thing I can find for Decades-Old Blackheads/Pores
Agent Snogpitch from Olathe, KS
This is definitely one of the best products I've found for those blackheads I've had on my nose since I was like 12. I find it's best to use after exfoliating and taking a HOT shower, and I definitely follow it up with the Glycolic Skin Renewal Complex. Also, I used this after a professional microdermabrasion, and my nose is actually looking about as pore and blackhead free as I ever recall it being in my LIFE, so. I can't complain too much. But if anyone else has a BETTER product (the internet seems to say this is it) for those years old congested pores/blackheads on the nose -- I'd love to hear about it, no doubt!
Stubborn blackheads gone!
Michellexoxo from Colorado
I'm giving this 5 stars because this has been the only product that has actually been able to clean out all my blackheads on my nose! I've tried many masks, scrubs, and strips that would only take a few blackheads off but not leave my pores completely clean. This stuff completely cleaned out my pores! It can be a bit messy but I think it's worth it.
Heather from Colorado
I have been using this product for 20 plus years. I make sure I never run out!
this literally does nothing
julie from louisiana
I've used this about 5 times now and every time it just makes a huge mess and breaks me out. it didn't remove my blackheads or anything. it just sucks tbh.
Audrey from USA
My blackheads are terrible I've tried everything nose strips, face masks, expensive treatments made for blackheads none of it worked. I tried this for the first time a couple of days ago right after I used it I saw my blackheads were minimized I used this again yesterday I am already seeing amazing results I gave it 4 stars because I haven't seen the long results and it's a little messy but it's great!!!!!
Yes it worked for me
katies11 from Troy, MI
I always forget I have this stuff and I'll put it on for like 5 minutes remove with toner and I swear my pores just bounce back! Obviously its not a cure all, but it definitely helps me out.
Did not work

Product did not work, supposed to remove blackheads and it did nothing for my blackheads.
Madi from Ewa Beach, HI
Only gave this product three stars because I just used it for the first time and feel like I need to use it more before I give 5 stars. However, it's really not as messy as people say it is. I will say do not use a cotton ball to apply it, I can see how that would be a mess. When you take the lid off don't peel the seal all the way off, peel it a little less then half way off. Then pour a little into the lid. After I took an old clean flat foundation brush and ran it under the sink then dabbed the brush into the product and dabbed/wiped it onto my skin. It worked great. As it dries it does flake a little, I was straightening my hair during the drying process and did notice it flaking off a little so my advice there would be to sit/stand still in the bathroom during the 10 minutes. I used it on my nose for blackheads (didn't notice any major change after) and then on some areas where I was having a breakout. On my cystic acne I could tell it dried it up and made them less red with one use. Really hoping this works! If you're afraid because of the mess, don't be, just follow my tips and you're set!
han from Missouri
I have always struggled with blackheads on my nose and chin and stuff is like a magnet!! Can be a little messy (the powder will start to fall a little as it dries) but it's worth the mess! I will ~never~ use nose strips ever again and that is saying a lot!! Mario Badescu has done it, holy cow!
I love this product!

I have used this twice now, with wonderful results! I love the simplicity of use and the easy removal. I can very plainly see that it unclogged my trouble spots. After rinsing I used my toner and then the Vitamin C serum, waited a bit and then applied the Buttermilk moisturizer. My face looks like I've had a professional facial! No kidding!
