As someone who is a very strong believer in sunscreen, this has been the very best I've tried (& i've tried A LOT). This is a physical mineral sunscreen and has 20% zinc oxide which is AMAZING. I'm not a fan of chemical sunscreens that contain Oxybenzone because it can act as a hormone in your body (ew, no thank you), so physical sunscreens are the way to go! This rubs in well, leaves no residue, is not greasy, and does not leave a dreaded white cast! I have very acne prone, sensitive skin and have had no breakouts from it like most sunscreens give me! YAY! This is a great daily sunscreen and wears well under makeup! I layer it over my moisturizer. I've used it while working outside and it wore well. I can't say enough good things about this product! The final test will be to see how it wears when I go to the beach! If it passes that test then this will definitely be a holy grail product for me!!
I bought this stuff because of its high zinc content. I'll use it on days that I don't wear makeup -- when we go to the park or gym, etc. This sunscreen is just too greasy, and it's really hard to put makeup over it. I've applied, waiting 15 minutes, and then blotted, but I'm concerned that I have to blot the entire spf off in order to have a smooth enough surface to apply my makeup.

I like this sunscreen mostly because i feel protected and it applies well underneath my makeup. For me I use a light moisturizer before sunscreen and then I apply my foundation. And this does not pill when applying. I also feel like it adds a nice glow when worn under foundation. Without makeup or powder to cover over it, it is a bit too shiny/greasy, but for the coverage and the ingredients it's worth it either way.

I have a med to deep complexion and I like great skincare. A mineral sunscreen without white cast was hard to find, but I think I've scored with this one ! I have sensitive, acne prone skin .. age 39 too.
pros: no white cast, great ingredients, no chemicals, great price , great amount of product. THUS far no breakouts. non tinted so it gives no purple or orangey tint.
cons: can wear with or without makeup, a bit thick (I rub in palms before applying) , can be greasy but I dab with a clean , dry makeup sponge to absorb some of the shine before continuing with primer and makeup. ,

My skin leans oily in the warmer months and dry in the winter months. This sunscreen is probably best for someone who has dry skin because it is very hydrating and rich. I do not like to use this in the summer for that reason. It will make your skin look shiny, so beware if you have very oily skin. It also runs and gets chalky (just a bit) if you're wearing this and you are sweating. I know it is water resistant, but everything about this SPF says, "for wintertime" to me. That being said, it does its job. I have not burned while wearing this. Sensitive skin folks will probably love this, too, since it only contains Zinc Oxide.

I really love this sunscreen, great for sensitive skin! I have psoriasis and honestly it doesn't irritate my skin! Goes on easily , makes my skin look so smooth !

It's not bad, but it never dries down so you are sticky/tacky all day. Good choice for active sunscreen but not for every day. I am disappointed because I remember COTZ before the package change (orange bottle) being such a great feeling sunscreen. At least this one is un-tinted, because the tinted versions are obnoxiously orange on fair skin.

This will probably become my go to daily sunscreen. I'm fairly pale, and it does leave a slight white cast at first, but it fades as it absorbs some, much better than other non tinted mineral sunscreens. It does leave a dewy to slightly oily finish, but my skin tends to be in the drier side so I it doesn't bother me. Overall happy with this and will probably buy again!

I wore this sunscreen at Knotts, reapplied throughout the day, and did not get a sunburn! It is a little thick, but it rubs in pretty easily and does not leave a ghostly cast (shade 185 in Fenty Beauty for reference). It definitely is a little greasy and shiny once it sets, but if I don't touch my face it doesn't bother me.

I got this because Ulta's store brand of mineral sunscreen was a month expired when I bought it (check the expiration dates on the tops of these tubes! They do expire!). I took that back and got this since it was basically all they had on hand. I don't like it though. It does the job, and doesn't make me break out when applied to my face, but it's just too thick to comfortably rub it into your skin in a reasonable amount of time. For the price, I was really disappointed. Won't be buying anything from this brand again.

I have very sensitive combination skin, so most sunscreens cause breakouts from a single day of wearing, clog my pores, are itchy, or are actually very drying to my skin through the course of the day. Not this one! I was looking for something to replace my spf moisturizer for the summer that was non-comeogentic, clean/natural ingredients, clean on the skin, blends into skin without white residue, safe for eyelids, safe for the environment, free of the usual skin product junk, and I could wear as a moisturizer replacement. I have been using it daily for a few weeks now with no big issues!! I plan to buy the "just for face" version soon for summer travel.
Tip: Summer is awesome, but terrible if you have combo skin and struggle with the t-zone oil monster. I use a chemical "clean shot" serum a few times a week to really help clear out any skin issues and strongly recommend in general during sunscreen wearing months.

I'm in my 40's with oily skin @ T-zone. I live in Houston a very hot and humid place. Considering this, really liked this sunscreen because:
- is not heavy
- does not leave any white cast
- my skin does not feel oily/heavy throughout the day
- no strong smell
- does not clog my pores
- on my skin I don't see a matte finish, which is good so it won't look dull.
And love the fact that is a mineral sunscreen, SPF 40, cruelty free, vegan, and reef-friendly.

My friend recommended this for me because I wanted to ditch chemical sunscreens and their harmful ingredients. However, I had a tough time finding a mineral one that rubs into my skin and doesn't leave a white cast. This rubs easily into the skin, and does not leave a white cast. I can actually go out without foundation and no one can tell (I have medium skin by the way). When I use makeup on top of it my makeup goes in smoothly and there's no clumping or balling when I add anything on top of it (foundation/powder). I am SO IN LOVE with it, I bought 4 just so that I stay stocked up.

This is a game changer. Finally, a sunscreen that won't break me out and it's perfect for my sensitive skin. Don't be afraid of how white it looks as you're applying it, it will absorb into the skin leaving a nice dewy finish. The bottle is pretty big. A reasonable size for the price.

I used to hate putting on sunscreen since I haven't found a great one since using the purito one! I tried so many and they all left a white cast, was too greasy, or broke me out. When I used this, I was so pleased to see it left no white cast on my broke skin and wasn't too greasy for me!! I never thought I'd find a mineral sunscreen that rubbed into my skin like a chemical one. I'm in love!!!

The consistency is like a whipped cream, which I enjoy for my dry skin. My skin is very sensitive and tends to become inflamed easily and I feel as though this product soothes it rather which I LOVE. It does have a little white cast at first but on my fair skin it disappears after massaging it in and letting it dry. It leaves a nice glow. It states that it is water resistant but when exposed to water I notice it immediately starts to become noticeable and wash away. For that reason, I would probably avoid using this if you're planning on being in the water. Makes for a great, everyday, out of the water sunscreen though.

I have been using this sunscreen for years, and I have never found anything better. This is a wonderful, cosmetically elegant facial sunscreen that is best-suited for dry or sensitive skin. It's on the moisturizing side, and if you apply an adequate amount, it can be slightly shiny. This fades on its own within 30 minutes or so, but I sometimes use powder to minimize the shininess (it works well either way). There is a very slight white cast immediately after application, but the white cast disappears entirely on my skin within a matter of minutes (which is amazing, considering the high percentage of zinc oxide in the product). This sunscreen never pills or flakes, which is an issue I've had with other mineral sunscreens. Overall, this is an amazing sunscreen, and I would not change anything about it!

I'm always searching for a suitable SPF for my sensitive skin. I don't like heavy skincare products because I tend to get clogged pores easily with my sensitive skin, however I need product that is moisturizing enough for my dehydrated face. This product ticks all the boxes, parfum free, for sensitive skin, and coral reef safe. The price isn't too bad either. It also dries clearly and doesn't accentuate dry patches. I used Elta Md before and while it was good, it irritated my face, clung to dry patches, and made my skin even more dry. This Cotz Spf doesn't do that. I will be repurchasing again!

If you tend to have normal to dry skin, be mindful. I've used this every single day after my morning skincare for about 4 months. It took me on a ride from loving it to tossing it. The bad is that I've noticed little granules coming out of my pores when sloughing this off at the end of the day with my oil cleanser. This is the second physical sunscreen I've tried and the only one to feel that way. Second, I'm typically normal to oily skinned in the warmer months but this dried my lower half of my face like you'd never believe. I was experiencing random breakouts & dry patches surrounding my mouth to the point where I could feel my skin tearing if I opened my mouth to speak & this is very unusual for my skin. I did the elimination process with my skincare products & narrowed it down to this. I then researched pure titanium zinc used on face & it said it could definitely dry out your skin, which not only explains the dry patches but the breakouts as well. I didn't know how bad it was until I decided to play with makeup (is anyone even using face makeup with masks enforced?) & the foundation/powder that I typically use was separating/caked & just down right awful. Unfortunately, I had to discontinue use as it was not the best fit for my skin.

So I wanted to love this as the reviews are good overall. While this does do a much better job at not having a white cast (seems a little white at first but seems to settle and blend after a minute) but it got so oily and greasy in the southern heat it! It got in my eyes and burned. Returned it. Sadly.

I bought this and the tinted face version to compare. I tried this one first, thankfully on a day where I wouldn't have to go out. I would say I have normal / combo skin - not flaky dry, and not greasy at all. I applied moisturizer and waited about 30 minutes before applying this product. WOW greasy - it got better over time, but I'd say you probably need to wait at least another 30 minutes to apply any liquid foundation or concealer over this. If you have the luxury of time in the morning, this could be a great option. One pro - there is absolutely no white cast (you can clearly see the redness of some pimples!). This definitely feels like a mineral sunscreen (sits on the skin), but I am on the anti-aging topical treatment prescribed by dermatologists* and chemical sunscreens really irritate my sensitive skin.
In conclusion - if you are already somewhat oily, I would avoid this one. I will continue to use this, probably without moisturizer before and only when I am not trying to follow with makeup (i.e. beach or pool days).

I'm black, and this leaves no cast whatsoever. The first mineral sunscreen that I feel comfortable over applying because it always Blends. Blends nicely into my facial hair as well. Gives it a nice sheen. Makes eyes a little sensitive but doesn't burn just a little watery.

It is sooo hard to find a mineral sunscreen that
1. blends in seamlessly
2. non drying or super oily
4. doesn't make my skin itch
THIS CHECKS ALL THE BOXES!! I love it, please never change it.

I LOVED IT. I have been searching for a sunscreen for my sensitive skin, not give me a white cast, not be crazy expensive, and not to break me out. This is the first sunscreen to fit all four of those needs. I have light/medium olive skin so white casts usually look grey on me; this sunscreen blends in beautifully. Its also nice because I have dry skin, so this is very moisturizing. Highly recommend.

This is my current favorite SPF! It does bother my eyes, but all mineral sunscreens do, so I use a chemical spf there and use this all over the rest of my face and neck. It's so hydrating and dewy, I'm kinda obsessed! I also love that it's fragrance free and sensitive skin safe❤️ It looks scary and white when first applied, but soaks into the skin and has zero white cast after it settles. I'm not gonna lie, it's a LITTLE too dewy to wear alone, but I just blot the shiny areas so I can reapply when not wearing makeup. It is fantastic under makeup and the dewyness shines through and looks beautiful!

It's pretty moisturizing and blends easily. When I first put the sunscreen on it's very white, but blends completely on my medium-tan/olive skin tone!
