Didn't work the first time, success the secondThe first time I used it I showered/shaved the night before and did put a light coat of lotion on my legs. This was never a problem with the original 4-8hr St tropez mousse. But with this one, I couldn't tell any difference in skin color after I washed the top solution off after 3 hours. The second time around I showered/shaved the night before but didn't put any lotion on. I left it on for 5 hours and was left with a light but natural looking tan after rinsing the solution off. I prefer the color with my fair skin tone from this solution vs the original. The mitt is a must, I do not use the foam mitt included in the package, but the luxe mitt sold separately. The color is good and application is good for beginners. The solution is green in tone and is easy to see where blended. A light coat of lotion on palms, wrist joints, fingers, elbows, knees, and ankles helps create a barrier for seamless blending in the rough places.I strongly dislike this productI applied it how it said to with the glove and I also made sure to exfoliate and moisturize any dry spots. Based on other reviews, I decided to keep this product on for longer than it said to do so that I got some deeper color, I left it on for about 5-6 hours. It stayed sticky in some spots but dried pretty quickly in others. I made sure to go over every spot. While it was on it looked even and seemed to be a good color. When rinsing off it became super patchy and some parts of my body didn't grab any color at all. Some parts got really pretty golden. The worst spots were the undersides of my arms and the back of my legs, which is probably because I was sitting. I didn't think it would be a problem since it said it wouldn't transfer. Wouldn't recommend this product.

I got this expecting a dark tan. It was not even visible even after sleeping with it overnight. I would suggest passing and getting a better brand. I should have read reviews.

I'm not sure why this has so many bad reviews. I have purchased this kit and other ST self tanning products over the years and had great success. I got this kit last summer. I was on vacation and had a very uneven tan due to falling asleep at the beach. I carefully applied the express tan to my legs to even them out. I didn't shower the color off until the next day. My legs looked so good I decided to apply it everywhere. I can't recommend this enough. But please carefully follow the

Not for sensitive skin

Followed instructions, exfoliated and moisturized the night before. Before applying moisturized my hands,feet, elbows, knees. Applied smoothly with the glove. I wanted a lighter shade, so I left for 1 hour, then rinsed. After rinsing went to bed for the night. I had the roughest night, and got no sleep! The self tanner caused me itching all night long! And additionally, the scent was pleasant at first and then it turned into a self tanner smell that made it hard to sleep! It was one miserable night! I can only give 2 stars. One the color did turn out nice, and two the glove was nice to apply it.

This is a nice formula and gave good color, but the product looks very deceiving when coming out. It looks like you need to shake it and doesn't apply very smoothly.
