Am a Nioxin convertI started using all Nioxin 3 products one month ago; shampoo, conditioner, scalp treatment, volumizing thickening spray and extra hold hairspray. Since I use them all together, it's hard to say specifically if one of the products works or doesn't. In my honest opinion, the Nioxin line has improved the body and texture of my hair greatly. I recently turned 51 and it's been within the last year or two that I noticed my hair thinning (mostly on the sides). I keep my hair in a chin-length, layered bob. It's always been fine so it's always been a challenge to make it look fuller and healthier. But this line of products does that. The shampoo and conditioner have a (very) strong eucalyptus/menthol fragrance and they do make my scalp tingle (I like it - it feels like something is happening). A little bit of shampoo goes a long way. When I'm rinsing the product out, my hair does feel thicker...like I have a bigger handful than before. I use the scalp treatment after I towel dry my hair. It's very watery (not sticky) and the nozzle is a strange choice for an applicator; it can run down your face if you squirt too much on. I don't know that I'm seeing any specific results from the scalp treatment yet (but I read it takes three months) but it does work well in conjunction with the other products. I use the thickening spray as a styling product - lightly spraying it all through my hair. It really injects fullness and lightness into my hair (no stickiness or heaviness). I finish it off with the hairspray (again, not heavy or sticky) and I am generally very happy with the outcome. I'd recommend watching a video on how to blow dry your hair using a large round brush for volume. A good haircut along with the right products, tools and techniques makes it possible for those of us not blessed with beautiful hair to have good hair days. I do think Nioxin is the right product for me. I would highly recommend trying it.Doesn't work for me...So I gave this system a little over a month to try. I knew from the reviews (from every website I stalked that sells this product) that there might be some fallout that could last a week or two. So I prepared myself. Fast forward to today, 34 days, and I'm still seeing fallout. Hair brush has to be cleaned off daily kinda fallout. I'm not bald... but I am concerned. I started with minimal hair fallout, and it increased slightly to medium fallout from using this. Anyway, about the products: I like the shampoo, I like the conditioner (do NOT get this stuff on your newly scrubbed face though, yikes). Hence, the 3 stars. However, I absolutely canNOT stand the spray! I stopped using it at week 3, and my hair looks slightly less ratty now. That spray. Was. Awful. It made my hair look greasy, as well as my normal-sensitive scalp feel as though it was always inflamed. I also know (from just my observations as well as my female intuition) that this [spray] was what kept me from seeing any results. For now, I will continue to use the shampoo and follow up with the condition. And that's it. I'm already on a second bottle of the shampoo, but I'm still undecided about the whole thing. Again, the shampoo is great! I think that this just didn't work for me bc that's the luck I usually have: works for everyone else, just not me. Hope others have better luck. Oooh, and no sign of new growth. Yes I know it's not exclusively a "hair growth system"... more like "promotes a better environment for the hair you have" type of product... buuut it would have been nice to see the babies sproutin.

I've been using this product for over two months and have not noticed any new hair growth. NONE. NADA. ZILCH. Don't waste your money.

wanted to like this but couldn't use it long enough. used every other night for a week and when I washed it out one morning I broke put in a hot rash on my forehead and face.

I really love this shampoo. The only downside is the cost, I wish it was on sale more often. My hair is very fine and straight. I have been using the Nioxin shampoo and conditioner for a few years now and my hair is noticeably thicker and even has more body.
