People are right to point out that this product has a limited shelf life, because it is pricey enough that I can understand being angry about the product being unusable within 6 months. I'm glad that I went in with my eyes open. I took the advice of another reviewer here and use mine for my shoulders, lips, inner corner, decolletage... and it looks absolutely amazing everywhere. Well worth the price, it flatters the skin and looks positively lustrous, even on my 40 year old face.
I've never really liked cream products for the complexion, but I'm moving more in that direction as I get older. These luminizers do not lift the powder products on the skin at all, as long as you apply them correctly, either by tapping it gently onto the cheek and brow bones in thin layers, or by using a very slightly damp sponge. It can look like a tiny bit of natural glow, or very reflective and intense when built up.
Not only did I NOT regret this purchase, but I came back to buy more. I wouldn't recommend this line to people who want to actually cycle through their entire collection routinely, because they do expire quickly. I am neglecting all of my other highlights, all of my liquid glitter and metallic shadows, but I don't even mind, because they're perfect for my needs and have upped my game so much. My finished face requires far less powder and looks 10 years fresher. Highly recommend to anyone like me dealing with aging skin. Not oily, not greasy, just a beautiful finish with great lasting power and versatility.
I've loved Rituel de Fille's aesthetic for years and finally made my first purchase, Icebow, a few months ago. I love the glitter free shine that can be either a lit from within, ethereal glow or built up to a blinding sheen. It can be applied with a brush, sponge or fingers and it doesn't stay tacky or sticky or emphasize texture. The color is a neutral ivory that, on my very fair, cool toned skin, pulls almost silvery in some lights. It's really beautiful!
The reason I'm giving 3.5 stars, and why I won't buy another, is that after only 5 months, the texture is no longer creamy, the shine has dulled significantly and looks like it's separating when I apply it to my skin. I've tried warming it up and removing the top layer but nothing works. I'm disappointed because I really loved it but there's no reason for it to have gone bad this fast. I love the brand's Eye Soots and cream blushes but this highlighter was a fail for me.
I am so glad that Ulta carries this! It's been on my wishlist forever. I absolutely love the opalescence in "Ghost Light" and I'll definitely go for other colors too.
It's more like a balm than a cream, so it needs a good primer and to be built up a bit for a good payoff, but not so much that it's an issue. I use my fingertips to apply it. For reference, I have cool-toned fair skin.
It disappeared after a couple of hours when I didn't use primer or setting spray, so I primed and set every time after that and it lasted all day until I washed my face.
All in all, I highly recommend it, especially if you're going for an ethereal/magical look!
I'm in my late 30s and have to be so careful about highlighters because so many settle in my lines and make me look older than I am. These are so dreamy. They blend perfectly and give a lit-from-within glow that not only looks great in person, but absolutely magical in photos. One reviewer said they don't have a preservative, but rosemary extract is a natural preservative and in this anhydrous formula, will keep growth out for long enough. If you're really worried, sterilize a spatula and grab some out of the compact and put it on the back of your hand or a palette before blending into skin.
This is my second color of this brand
It is creamy and has a light subtle sheen
Not a highlighter person, but I AM a Phosphene person! I hate too-shiny highlighter and this is not that! It can be as sheer as you want it to be. Great as a highlight, but I like it even better as an eyeshadow and to layer on top of lips to put some extra shine on a matte lip color without it being glossy. My everyday eyeshadow look is Phosphene combined with their Inner Glow Creme Pigment in the color Eros.
I love these highlights, I think I have five colors now. They range from subtle to exciting in hue and brightness, depending on how you apply them. I love Ghost light, it was my first one and it's very wearable but a little bit unexpected. Phosphene I can sort of pull off as blush with the right look. They all layer well with powders, I tap with my fingers to apply and then sometimes blend out by stamping with a dense brush. I've had mine for about a year so while I've heard they expire quickly they're so fun to use I just use them a lot. My fave colors are actually RDF site exclusives, Lunaris which has a blue shift and Spectre which is literally like someone shined moonlight on my face. also I love supporting the brand, and they have amazing customer service. I highly recommend!! (I'm fair w/neutral undertones, and look best with light summer color tones.)
