A few tips to help you color with total confidence:
Skin Allergy Test - Madison Reed always recommends you do a sensitivity test before coloring your hair. At least 48 hours beforehand, mix 1 part Radiant Cream Color (a small squeeze) with 1.5 parts Conditioning Color Activator (a few drops). Use a cotton swab to apply a quarter-sized amount to a small patch of skin behind your ear or inside your elbow. Keep dry. Wait 48 hours. If there is no sign of change to the area, then you're ready to color. Always consult your physician if you have questions or concerns. If you've had a sensitivity to hair color in the past, you may be more likely to have a reaction.
Please see the instructions included in your Radiant Hair Color kit for the best application to achieve your desired results.
Tips and tricks from the experts - Wear a shirt or smock that buttons or zips up the front to make cleanup easy. Begin with dry, unwashed hair. The day after your last shampoo is best for coloring. Make sure hair is free of styling products as they coat hair and may block the color.
Total Color Processing Time = 35 minutes (or 45 minutes for maximum gray coverage)

BEAUTIFUL COLOR - But a bit dark
This color could not be more natural looking. I was previously coloring my hair a light brown/ash blonde and wanted to go a medium/light brown copper red. The preview photos of this color are all very different. I was hoping to turn out on the lighter side, but mine came out pretty dark, but it is o...

Never Again
My color quiz matched me with lighter shades of blonde but I opted for this (it was still one of my matches) because it was darker and I am always afraid of going too light at home. According to the swatch online it did not look too far off of my natural color so I didn't think anything would go wro...

This product did not cover my gray at all.
Hair Type Very Curly Hair
I was very disappointed in this product. I left the product on far longer than recommended. And it still did not cover my gray hairs at all. I will never buy it again. And would not recommend it
Doesn't last
Hair Type Straight Hair
I followed the exact instructions and my color was very faded after only 4 weeks. I feel it's way too expensive to fade that fast.
The only hair colored I use!!
Hair Type Wavy Hair
I have my hair professionally colored and cut every three months. I color my hair in between. This product covers my roots and gives my hair great shine!! I reallt live it!!
Color is Perfect!
Hair Type Wavy Hair
I was tired of my old store brand name box color which faded in 2 weeks and showed the gray quickly. I thought I would try Madison Reed. At first I was hesitant since it was expensive and many reviewers didn't like it. I have to say that the color is beautiful. It looks like my original hair color when I was just a kid! It's a dark blonde and I love it. I love the blonde highlights. I love that there isn't ammonia with that intense scent. It was easy to apply and my hair's condition is wonderful. I highly recommend it especially if you are over 50. It does cover gray!

- Q
I have the kit to color my roots. If I am only doing my roots do you still wear the shower cap.? If so what do I do with the bottom part of my hair. Also, I have a lot of gray by ny ears. She put some kind of pad there with color. How do you keep pads on ?
- Asked by Peggy
- Official Answer By Madison Reed - SyndicationYou can leave your hair down if it’s longer, or loosely tuck it up into the cap if you choose to wear one—the cap is simply to help avoid a mess. We don’t recommend placing pads over the color after application, as they can absorb the product instead of your hair. For best results, apply the color generously—especially to harder-to-cover areas—almost like frosting, to ensure even coverage. Was this answer helpful to you
