Finally a Foundation That Works for My Skin Tone

[I received this product in exchange for my honest review] Foundation is something I usually have an incredibly difficult time with. I get the shade wrong, it looks cakey, it's too dewy or overly matte, I'm unhappy with the way it creases or settles into my fine lines. I'm always looking for a found...ation that I'm truly happy with. When I was offered the opportunity to try a new foundation from Fenty Beauty for free in exchange for my honest opinion, I was excited to give it a try. At the time I chose my shade, there was a very comprehensive selection with photos, descriptions of undertones and swatches. I found it fairly easy to choose one that closely matched my skin tone. I was even impressed that there was an option for a light neutral olive undertone. A lot of my struggles with finding a good foundation match come from brands not specifically catering to my skin tone, so I really appreciated that option. Once I received the foundation, I could quickly tell I had chosen correctly because it blended into my skin almost immediately. The bottle is a nice frosted glass pump style that feels cool to the touch. The dispenser provides a smaller amount of product with each pump, which I really like because it makes it easy to control how much I'm applying and build up the coverage in layers without using too much at once. For application, I used a concealer brush under my eyes and then I use a foam sponge for the rest of my face. I find both worked really well with this formula. I was very impressed with the coverage after only one layer, as seen in my photo. It didn't completely cover every blemish, but it still looked very natural, while making my skin tone appear much more even. The redness is noticeably lessened, my skin looked smoother, and although this is a matte foundation, my skin didn't look dry at all. It actually looked hydrated. By the end of the day, I didn't notice any major fading and there was very little, if any, creasing. Overall, I'm very impressed with this foundation. I found that it lived up to the claims that I was able to test, and I finally found a shade that really works for me. I especially liked how natural it looked while still giving me a buildable coverage and a more even complexion. I would highly recommend it to anyone wanting a natural-looking, buildable foundation with enough shade options to choose from.
