Most Helpful Positive Review Pretty good! I bought this for my hair because I have wavy/curly hair that is usually a little frizzy. I preferred it over most other drugstore shampoos because of the cleaner ingredients, and lack of "omg it made me loose my hair" reviews. (Ahem shea moisture and deva curl ahem) I have bought two bottles now and they last me each about four-ish months when showering twice a week. I have long, pretty normally dense hair. I usually use 5 or 6 pumps, the shampoo is a very light formula and doesn't lather as much as most others do (because of the lack of sulfates I believe). While it doesn't lather too well, I do think it cleans pretty nice. It leaves my hair feeling clean but not stripped or dry. I have mild oily dandruff, and it gets rid of it well. I usually spend a good 30-50 seconds rubbing it on my scalp. The scent is a lovely orange citrus-y scent, it's a little strong on application, but does not linger on the hair after rinsing. If you are sensitive to scents, i think you should be fine as it is no stronger than when you open an orange. The shampoo leaves my roots looking healthily shiny and smooth, and keeps them oil free for about two days. It definitely could be a little stronger, and maybe a little less fragrant, but overall for a drugstore price it's pretty good. I'd much rather this over a Tresemme or a Pantene! Haha.
Most Helpful Critical Review I really wanted to love it but... As a few others have mentioned it is a little thin so I feel like I have to use more of it to get it to really clean my hair... while i had to use a lot every time I used it, I was still willing to repurchase because I loved the scent and it did leave my hair soft. After a few washes (I dont use it every time I wash my hair) I started to notice my hair would get a little greasy the next day and I know I can go much longer without that happening, but I wasn't sure it was this shampoo (and conditioner). I figured it was the hot summer and all the sweating I was probably doing but after about a month and a half of using it I now know that it is definitely this shampoo. While it does leave your hair soft and feeling clean I believe it strips hair too much because after this last wash, not even 24 hours later, my hair is a grease ball. May work for some but not for me.

I have tried so many brands of shampoo in the last two years - Redken, Paul Mitchell, Kenra, Sebastian, Briogeo, Ouai, and so many more, and they all left my hair feeling dry and unmanageable. Then I got this as a sample and fell in love. First off, the smell is AMAZING - it smells like freshly squeezed clementines. This is also the only shampoo I've tried that left my hair feeling hydrated and soft even before using the conditioner. It also drastically reduced the frizz and defined my waves/curls, and normally I would have had to add other products to achieve that. Not anymore! I am obsessed.
I will never buy it again, I must throw it away 1

It irritates my scalp, gives me a lot of dandruff and makes my hair very frizzy. Good presentation but it seems like a bad product, I have not recovered from the first time I applied it...

I took my daughter to get new shampoo and conditioner and she picked this one along with the matching conditioner. After she used it I could tell an immediate difference! Her hair has never looked better/ healthier and she kept going on about how soft her hair was and that it was so much easier to brush ( she has super long ,thick hair ) ! Definitely an awesome find !

Love the clean fresh scent and the way my hair feels. I follow up with NatureLab Tokyo Perfect Smooth Conditioner and I feel my frizziness is under control.
Incredible! 5

Easily the best shampoo and conditioner I have ever used. This duo works together with ease to tame my thick, wavy and sometimes frizzy hair. It has no residue and leaves your hair feeling light smooth and clean. Perfect before a blowout or instead of.

Smells Like Celery 2
Steph from Ohio
I'm someone who wants either a wonderfully scented product or an unscented one. I tried to get past the smell but everytime I used it, it reminded me of celery.
Consistency was good and lather was good especially for it being sulfate-free but again, it's the smell that got to me.
The matching conditioner doesn't smell as much like celery.

I haven't started using the product yet, so will have to update my review once I do. I am hopeful though because the reviews are great.
Great for curly hair 5

I bought this for my super curly haired teenage daughter after I had tried the repair shampoo and conditioner. She absolutely loves it. Her wild curls are tamed and look super shiny and healthy after using this! She is no longer afraid of her own hair!!!
extreme hair loss!!! 1
Larissa from Undisclosed
The first thing I noticed after using it is that my hair looked greasier than before I washed it. It laid a strange film over my hair, like other reviews said. The second thing I noticed is that I had extreme Hair loss that started when i used this shampoo! My brush was full of hair, in the shower more and more strand fell out and when I went through my hair with my hands the hair just kept falling out. I got a blood test dine because I thought I was sick, but after the results came back with everything being good, I made the connection to the shampoo. After I changed to a different product, my hair stopped falling out. Now I have significantly thinner hair than I have ever had because I took me 3-4 months before I realized it's the Shampoos fault!!!
GREAT FOR THIN HAIR! 5

I have very VERY fine hair, and was going through a rough patch of major dandruff-- it was the worst! But between oiling my hair with Jamaican castor oil/rosemary & trying out Perfect Smooth Shampoo & Conditioner I've been itch and flake free for 3 months now-- I also use the scalp exfoliater. Note: I wash my hair every other day, it's NOT dyed and drys pin straight. With the rare hair curl, I also don't use heat on it and allow for it to air dry.

I have the hardest time finding hair products that work for me. My hair is long, color-treated, thin (but a lot of it), wavy, coarse at the ends and oily at the roots. I was using Dry Bar shampoo and conditioner and it was getting the job done but it's just too expensive so I had to try something else. I spent an hour in Ulta looking at reviews and finally stumbled upon this brand. I'm so glad I found it! It's affordable, smells AMAZING but still light and not overpowering, it leaves my hair feeling clean and it's just awesome overall. The conditioner is great too. Usually sulfate free means you can't get a brush through the tangles after washing but not with this! I'm super impressed!
Very drying for my hair 2

I have very thick, wavy/curly hair and this shampoo made my hair very dry. I have a hard time combing it even when I put products in my hair after washing. Not for me. The smell and texture are very nice and clean feeling though.

I love this shampoo, nice to not have all the chemicals of the other on the market. Thank you for you products!

I've been both blown away and disappointed by both drugstore and high-end shampoos and conditioners. So far the ones that have worked for me are the Paul Mitchell Tea Tree line, Aveda Cherry, and Garnier Whole Blends Honey.
That being said, I really like the Nature Lab Perfect Smooth line so far. Since using it I notice my hair has become easier to comb, and as the line is named, smoother. To put it into perspective, I'm asian with straight black hair that can get funky if I straighten it, and so far I've yet to see a need to use a straightener after using this product. I'd say price-wise its in the middle; not cheap, but also not outrageously expensive. And since you don't need to use a whole lot of product it will last pretty long, so I feel like you're getting enough for your buck. Overall, I'd give this line a 4 out of 5.

I'm disappointed!! I read wonderful amazing reviews so I decided to buy! I absolutely hate this shampoo. I have damaged processed dried hair. Well this made my hair extremely tangled and super dry! I also used the conditioner and it did not help! Glad I bought during a sale.
Pretty good 4

I got this shampoo half off during an Ulta sale event and for that reason I think it was a great price for the amount of shampoo you get. The smell isn't bad, but it smells like a chemically cleaner I would use to smell my counters, it's very lemony. The lather is my FAVORITE thing about this shampoo. The lather is so smooth and leaves my hair feeling great. I've only been using it for a week or so but about a day after i notice my hair feeling really smooth especially around my scalp. Another thing about this product, if you wash your hair daily like me, one or two pumps is plenty of product, even for the conditioner.
Cleans but... 2

Weeks later my hair is straw-like dry, theres 10x more split ends, and hair had developed bumpy coarse texture. It was nice to use in the beginning but I guess over time it has just been damaging my hair more and more.

Love this shampoo. Been using drugstore shampoos, then got this in the mail in one of my subscription boxes. I basically threw out the rest of my shampoo after using this and it's been life changing. My hair is so soft and smooth, I didn't know a single wash could do this :)
Worth it 5
