Most Helpful Positive Review Awesome!!
I've tried at least a dozen dry shampoos, both sprays and powders. I hated all the sprays, both high end and drugstore. I've been using Alterna and Oscar Blandi Pronto, which are both powders. However, I haven't gotten much volume, one of the main reasons for using dry shampoo. They also don't leave my hair feeling really clean, enough that I feel comfortable skipping shampoo. So I just don't use dry shampoo very often. These powders are just ok, but they didn't blow me away. However, this PHD dry shampoo is totally different from anything else. The ingredients or technology must be completely different because the results were magical! I got tons of volume that lasted for two days, there was no residue to brush out and my hair looked and felt truly clean and fresh. I followed the directions, shaking the can between each spritz and focusing solely on the roots, parting my hair in 1/2 inch sections, including the back. This product is white but the second step is massaging it into the roots. Supposedly it takes about 30 seconds for it to work but I gave it several minutes. After this time, there was no more white powder, it was absorbed by the oil. I have to say that my hair was quite dirty and incredibly, it looked better after using this product than it does when it's freshly washed. It was amazing!! Now I know what all the fuss was about and why my local Ulta is always sold out of this product. They simply can't keep it on the shelf. I'm a huge Living Proof fan, I use PHD s/c, Prime Style Extender, No Frizz Styling Spray, Satin Serum, Root Lifting Spray and Restore Instant Protection heat spray. Now I'm adding another product to this list of successes. This dry shampoo is simply incredible. If you haven't liked dry shampoo in the past, I urge you to give this one a try. The volume and freshness lasts me two days, which is great for my color treated hair. And it washes out easily with no buildup. I love it!
Most Helpful Critical Review I used it up too quickly
This product is ok.. definitely not worth the money. This product doesn't last very long, I used it up in about 2 weeks and I don't use it very often.

Awful. Makes my hair look and feel so bad. Leaves my hair extremely dry with white dots at the end of ever single hair that look like breakage.
Don't buy other brands

This was the first dry shampoo I used. I tried a few other salon brands to save a few dollars, but they ended up in the trash. When I use this my hair doesn't feel like it has product built up on it like with others.

Performs well and not cakey in the hair...a little pricey
Best fry shampoo ever. Definitely worth the hype!

Somewhat of a splurge as far as cost for a fry shampoo. But definitely worth the cost. A little goes a long way. Always get the largest container because it's a better deal!

This is my third bottle and I will continue to purchase!
Never buy another dry shampoo

I looove this dry shampoo. I have bought many different kinds but will never buy another brand again! Adds so much volume and truly makes your hair feel clean and brand new
Best dry shampoo

Best dry shampoo I've ever tried! Haven't washed my hair in three days and it looks, feels, and smells amazing! Highly recommend!
Best dry shampoo ever!

This stuff works really well! A little definitely goes a long way and it smells great. You do really have to work it in if you have dark hair. It is a little pricey but definitely worth it!
The best EVER

I've been trying to take care of my hair more since getting it professionally colored and cut. Problem is, when styling my hair it gets greasy/ sweaty after day 1 or 2. I don't have time to style it every other day. So I wanted to invest in a good dry shampoo. I bought the travel size of this and loved it! However, it only works for styles you can brush out. Otherwise you get left with gray roots. So unfortunately, I would not recommend it if you plan to use it for curly non brush-able styles. If you're debating I would try the travel size before committing!
Took off a star because they don't offer a dry shampoo for dark hair 🙃
Tips for using
-less is more (you can always add more!)
-don't spray too close to the scalp
-lift the hair sections
-let it sit
-massage it in your scalp
-apply it at night (so it has time to soak up oil)
Why the hype?

I bought this because of the great reviews and I'm not sure why it has any great reviews! The smell is extremely awful. It smells of just straight chemicals. It didn't help my hair at all. It made it gritty and stiff. I would not recommend this!

My daughter was bedridden due to surgery. Biught the 7.3 oz can and sprayed 2x on one side and then it stopped working. The sprayed area looked great, but the rest of her hair was still oily since we couldn't get the product to come out of the can
There didn't seem to be any blockages, but I tried to clean it. Still didn't work. Disappointed on how much money was wasted.
100% NO ON THIS!!!!,
NeeceK from Chino Hills, CA
Not sure why any good reviews on this. It smells HORRIBLE like old lady perfume. Also leaves white powder on your hair horrible, literally like a container of powder blew up in your hair!!
Michaela from NY
I would not purchase again. Not enough product in the container. I feel like I had to use so many sprays to cover even a section of my hair. Used the whole bottle in about a month with spraying every few days. Don't recommend unless you wanna buy multiple times every few months. Just expensive. I have thin and oily hair so that could be why I went through it so quick.

It gives your hair a clean look. Also the dry shampoo does not make your hair look oily.
New favorite dry shampoo
stephmeetsdress from Chicago, IL
I really don't like strong scents in hair products, and my long, very straight hair gets oily easily, so I've found it worth it to splurge a bit on dry shampoos. I bought this one when Ulta was out of my usual by Kloraine. It smells really nice, but not too strong at all. And it works really well! It leaves a soft, non-oily texture that lasts all day without getting too stiff. My new favorite!

I've tried about every dry shampoo there is and nothing holds a candle to PhD. In my opinion, every dry shampoo is going to leave a little white cast but a little goes a long way with PhD and will rub in nicely without leaving too much of white cast on my brown (natural) and burgundy (colored) hair.
Won't buy again

The formula is good quality and I saw a difference in my hair but the nozzle spray stopped working. I still have half of the bottle to use and there is nothing I can do which really sucks (I did try my best to clean it). The product is to expensive to be having issues like this. I have bought cheaper dry shampoos and never had this problem.
What good is a product if you can't get it out of the can?
C from NY
Let me preface by saying I worked for Ulta for 5 years, I've used many a can of PhD with no problems. This is by far the best dry shampoo formula I've ever tried. I was so excited when Living Proof debuted the jumbo size of PhD! However, the first can I purchased stopped working not even halfway through. I could feel so much product left in the can so I exchanged for another can. Here I am, once again, spraying and spraying with no product coming out. I know how to use it, I was even trained by a LP rep at Ulta once. I've tried everything to get this stupid can to work. I just wasted half a can trying to get it to spray the actual dry shampoo. I'm incredibly disappointed, paying just about $40 for a can of aerosol.

This is the only dry shampoo I use and it's perfect!
Seriously a holy grail
Mimi from Kansas
Once you try high-end dry shampoo, you will not want to go back! I needed a reliable dry shampoo that worked and didn't just make my hair clumpy and appear dirtier than it was before. This is IT. The smell might be strong for some, but I love a strong perfume-y smell for my hair. It's worth spending more on a product that I can rely on. I'm a very busy grad student and need a quick fix for those days I don't have time or energy to restyle my hair.
Will never buy another brand of Dry Shampoo
Kait from Indiana
LOVE! I will never use another Dry Shampoo. My hair gets very oily and this is the only dry shampoo I've found that actually cleans and reduces the oily look of my hair between washes!
ChloeT from Ohio
I have used multiple drugstore dry shampoos, and none of them really got the job done for me. My hair gets oily fast, so I was having to wash my hair daily. I finally decided to splurge on this dry shampoo, and I will never try another. I can not go 3 days without washing my hair thanks to this product! My hair loves it!
Maddy from montana
this stuff is the absolute best, it smells great, it works good, and isn't overly chalky. I can never go back to the cheap stuff.
