I'm not sure why it feels so different. It's close but it's not the same. The original one feels denser and has a memory foam effect where it conforms to your face when blending. That is amazing for blending foundation. This bouncier and fluffier version causes more stream and more time blending in foundation.

So soft
This foundation brush is incredibly soft but has great density. No streaks.
Too soft, little control for foundation
The bristles of this foundation brush are too soft and flimsy for what I like with foundation application. It absorbs a lot of product and I wish there was more control. Whenever I'd wipe it after using, I could see the bristles all clumped together too, and I wasn't using too much product.
