Most Helpful Positive Review A Soft, Gentle Cleanser I was really excited to try this cleanser as I've used the Honest Company before on my children, using the children's body wash. It worked really well on my son who has very sensitive skin so I had high expectations for this product as well. I was not disappointed! I found this great as a morning cleanser when my skin only had nighttime products. I prefer a morning and night routine with different products and found this worked better in the AM. My skin was left soft and not stripped. It left my skin feeling like the perfect base for the rest of my routine— toner, serum, moisturizer and sunscreen after!
Most Helpful Critical Review I really wanted to love it This Honest Beauty Magic gel-to-milk cleanser is a bit misleading to me personally, I would put it more in a pre-cleanse double cleanser category. I am a huge makeup enthusiast so I love to use a variation of makeup so most days I have a full face. I used the packaging instruction recommendation of using the product on dry face for heavier makeup and it did do a good job "melting" the makeup aside from the lash adhesive and mascara that didn't budge. I had to use a regular cleanser after using this product as it left my skin very oily and still left 50% of the makeup still on. I would suggest to use this product to melt the makeup and use a split cloth to remove majority of makeup and then follow with a regular facial cleanser to get the best of this product. I did love that it's a gentle and easy to use product after I figured out how to use it to benefit me. I probably would not purchase this product.

This does not rinse off my skin, even if I use a washcloth it leaves a film.
Lovely Cleanser 5

I ordered the cleanser just because the ingredients didn't seem like they would break me out and I actually love it. My skin feels clean and moisturized when used.
Blah side of meh 2

I really wanted to like this because of the ingredients being so gentle. It never feels like my skin is particularly cleansed or moisturized after using this, and a greasy/waxy feel is left behind. A lot of the product is needed, twice as much as other cleansing balms, so the bottle goes quickly. Not ideal, but I just wanted to be done with it. Not bad enough to toss, not good enough to get again.
The only thing I will ever use to remove makeup 5
Angela from New York
I have tried so many cleansing balms and micellar waters to remove makeup— this is the only one that meets all the marks and isn't expensive. I needed something for my sensitive skin that wouldn't need a harsh cleanse after to remove residue. This product isn't oily, doesn't foam, and is VERY gentle on sensitive skin. Previous cleaners have caused issues with breakouts or skin barrier disruption do to how hard I have to wash to rinse the other makeup remover off. The only makeup remover I will every buy, thank you Honest Beauty!
The perfect double cleanser 5

I absolutely LOVE this cleanser! It leaves my skin feels nourished and soft. The creamy texture is perfect for a double cleanse too. I use it morning and night.
Horrible 1
Kayla from TN
Leaves a residue and causes acne.
It's alright 3

I really like how my face felt after this cleanser. It felt soft and clean. I didn't see any problem with the smell either. The problem I do have is it can be messy. It becomes milk fast and it goes down from my hands to my elbows. Another thing is I doubled cleansed because I felt like one time wasn't enough so it lasted me less than 3 weeks.

I've been using this at night and am underwhelmed. The ad made it seem like this would be good for removing makeup. I don't wear very much makeup but when I do I wear waterproof eyeliner. It definitely did not take that off. That isn't a dealbreaker for me but I also found the cleanser is thick and takes a LOT of water to rinse off. I don't like the texture. I don't apply it around my eyes but I always seem to get a bit in there when I'm trying to scrub it off and it's very irritating. I do really like the light rose water scent. It's not a terrible cleanser but I do regret buying it. The Gentle Gel Cleanser is much better, in my opinion. I like the goals of the company so I would get that one instead to support them! Natural ingredients and cruelty free products are what I am looking for!
Leaves greasy residue 3

Turns milky like advertised and removes makeup well. But it leaves behind a greasy residue that requires two rounds of a regular sudsy face cleaner to remove.
So disappointed 1

I wanted to love this but it just didn't happen. So, it didn't do good of getting rid of my makeup and I had to use quite a bit because it doesn't spread well. It also was so harsh on my eyes (no I didn't put it in my eyes), I have very sensitive eyes and the product on my face immediately irritated my eyes.
I recommend the verse cleansing balm (the most comparable to the Clinique take the day off) or the Milani green goodness is good too.
Great as a double cleanser 5
Erika from California
I really like this cleanser! It is gentle on my sensitive skin and a fun experience. If you want to use it to remove makeup do not wet your face first. Massage into your skin until you are satisfied and then wet your face. This cleanser emulsifies and makes removing makeup so easy. I like it better than my Dear Klairs Black Oil Cleanser, which I find a pain to remove. This is a constant repurchase for me!
Bad purchase 3

It does not remove makeup and it leaves residuals.

It does not remove waterproof to make up. Therefore, it is going back.
Leaves a lot of residue 2

I like the scent less formula but it leaves a lot of residue on my hands and face. Not good for sensitive skin or oily like mine. I've been using it on fresh tattoos because it is gentle.
So good ! 4

I use this in my double cleansing system to get all the makeup off my face. I don't think this would be effective enough as just a face wash but it's a great pre-wash!!
not bad 4

Doesn't really take off all the makeup. I find i need to wash most of the makeup off first then use this second also not a fan of the smell. But does leave my skin feeling soft afterwards.

Very disappointed in this product, because I really wanted to support this brand. But it really did nothing for my skin, my face didn't feel clean after using it. Also tried using with the sponge.. which also did nothing. Good thing was it did no harm either.
Works Great and Non-irritating 5

This Honest Beauty Magic Gel to Milk Cleanser feels great on my skin. It gets makeup off easily without leaving a greasy residue and I like its subtle scent and gentle formula. It lathers up well and rinses off well. The tube isn't that big but it will last a long time because you don't need a lot to wash your face (for me it's only a few dabs). The best thing is that the formulation has fewer artificial and toxic chemicals more commonly found in mass produced cleansers. I used this product as part of a double cleanse routine and would compare it to an oil cleanser, with no drying effects or skin tightness. Overall a thumbs up.
Good 3

Took longer to remove my makeup but has good ingredients
Not bad 4

Honestly this makes my face really smooth and hydrated but I only use this in the morning a few times a week and use my La Rosche Posay prodocugd at night. I don't think this will replace my overall skin care routine but is a nice edition

Great Cleanser 5

The cleanser is fragrance free and is great for sensitive skin. I really enjoy the way it feels.
Absolutely love it! 5
Ashley from Somers Point
I absolutely loved the gel to milk cleanse, it was light weight, easy to use and left my face feeling so smooth. I use it in the morning to start my day and at night to end my day. It works perfect to remove my make up before bed!
Perfect for sensitive skin! 5
Paty from Texas
I have been trying it this week and really love it. I have sensitive skin and it did not irritate at all and lathered so nicely on my face. It did not have a rose scent as it said. The texture is gel like and turns milky white. As soon as i wash it off my skin feels softer and moisturized. I would definitely reccomend and when i run out will repurchase.
Awesome product! I love it 5

I am a young woman (22) with oily skin. I love this cleanser. It's very gentle on my face but still leaves it nice and smooth. I really like that this product has ingredients that I can trust. It can be a little tricky to nail the water to product ratio because it rinses away easily but the product is great once you work around that. The packaging is pretty cute too, I like the minimalist look.
