nonirritatingthis is 1 of 2 foundations i've tried this year that is genuinely nonirritating for my skin. after years of working in a personal care R&D laboratory, I've become sensitized to every chemistry used in personal care products that you can become sensitized to. on top of being irritant free itself, it actually created enough of a barrier that my skin did not break out in random rashes over the course of my work day as it was exposed to lab formulations. which is impressive considering how light and weightless the formula is. my biggest issue with it was simply figuring out how to apply it. the first time i used it i used way too much. i ended up blotting most of it off. before i blotted most of it off i looked like an orange muppet... very vogue for a large white house right now, but not my bag. it definitely applies as a more natural finish with the use of a brush or a sponge, using your fingers leaves it looking very thick and masque like. also applying it over still wet moisturizer helps prevent it fry drying down too quickly allowing you to buff it out properly before it sets. if i have a major complaint it's the shade range. i'm extremely pale (yay living near the arctic circle most of your life) and i have olive skin. if you're olive yourself you'll understand the pain that is olive. both the warms and the cools with their pink to red undertones make you look like you've a bad case of rosacea, and neutrals make you look like a tangerine. not having these available in the store to shade test, i went with the radiant shade as the easiest to add color corrector too. unfortunately it's far too dark for me, so adding in green, blue, and lavender pigments darken it that much more. next time i'll have to try the palest shade and see if i can make the pink undertone work, which is much more annoying than trying to shift a neutral shade.overall disappointmentI love Jane Iredale cosmetics. I've been using these cosmetics for >25 years and have seldom been disappointed. I'm 61, use medical grade skincare products and have been used the pressed powder base. I wanted to change foundation to accommodate the inevitable age related changes in skin. I tried the foundations recommended for "mature skin." I use JI primer. Loose powder was just more fuss to work with than the pressed and seemed to be less flattering to dry skin. My local shop that carries JI doesn't like the Liquid Minerals A Foundation because "the owner doesn't like it." So I ordered from the website. It's been another disappointment. Initially, the formula came out of the pump weird and needing mushing/mixing to be creamy. The foundation was left in little 'clumps' on my skin. The online representative suggested the pump had a problem. I guess it did because changing the pump helped, but, the coverage is soooo sheer! To get more coverage the site recommends using the powder! For me, this has been an experiment that just led me back to using the product I've been using since I was 32, pure pressed powder base! I love that stuff and highly recommend it!

SHEER coverage - makes your skin look dewy and fresh. Hides minimal sun lines and some acne scars. The application is finicky; I put three pumps on a metal spoon and mix with the top of a beauty blender and put on my face. No spf. Hydrates skin

It practically applies itself. Sets incredibly, looks natural, doesn't lift or move throughout the wear. I can use it alone with the setting powder or add a bit of powder foundation for extra coverage. Super versatile, and always in my regimen.
