Such a whimsical adventureI absolutely loved going through this set. Each day, I wrote a little profile for the scents as I tried them and ended up ordering two of my favorites. _________ Myth: smells like an old library in an enchanted forest that's equal parts mystery and curiosity. Makes me feel like a pensive adventurer. Lasted into the next morning. 9/10 Sci-fi: unexpectedly sweet but has this mild but sharp sterile smell in all the right ways. Makes me feel like a wild-haired animal rights scientist. Lasted through the night. 7/10 Fable: smells like hope and fresh starts. Honeysuckle and new moss. Makes me feel like I just woke up from an unexpected nap under a willow tree with all the answers to my problems. Lasted half a day. 7/10 in smell, 5/10 overall for wearability and preference RIVES isn't quite a smell. It's feels like I just stepped into a starlet's dressing room on a black and white film from 1926, in Reno. The room is laden with both smoky powdery capability and risk. It grows on me with every hour that passes and I would have rated it a 7/10 for smell and 5:10 for wear but now I'm feeling it's a solid 8 on both. It's this musky feminine smell. Like unapologetic sex appeal while flirting shyly. West smells like distinguished gardens and high tea. It's the most traditional fragrance so far, but still a bit unexpected. It's layered with depth and spice as an after effect, but primarily floral. Florals aren't my favorite but I still find this pleasant. 3/10. Not for me. Rrose smells like spiced roses and musk. It's deeply fragrant and complex with an almost earthy mysteriousness to it. Makes me feel like I'm opening the curtains and putting cut roses in Beast's Library for the first time. 6/10 intoxicating smell, pleasant. Feels like wearing a costume, a fun one but it just doesn't feel like me. * If you've ever wanted a floral scent that doesn't feel feminine, this is absolutely the scent for you. It's a beautiful complex floral without that poGreat... if you want 8 similar perfumes.They don't smell bad. They just aren't my thing-which would be fine in a set like this, right? If I don't like one, I should like another? Nope. They all have this distinct... something to them. Some sort of old lady smell. Woods, maybe? I'm not sure. I was hoping for more playful scents mixed with the sophisticated ones like Myth (Ambrette, Jasmine, White Cedarwood, Orchid), but they're all reminiscent of a great aunt at a funeral. They have slight variances. The honeysuckle comes out in Fable. The rose is strong in Prose. The coconut is there in Fawn. It just isn't different enough for me to consider it to be a good 'discovery' set- all I discovered was that they're all the same.

If you're looking for a more gender neutral smell then these work great! While none stood out to me crazy each smell was nice! If you're looking for a large variety of scents to play and switch around with I recommend this set. My only real complaint is the smell lasts only 3ish hours. So if you have an all day event you may need to bring the bottle with you. Luckily the bottle is small enough to carry around easily.

About 80% of the scents in the pack I love. and I can mix them and they smell good too. I love trying new scents, so this was a great deal.

Mostly same-y, liked a couple, several didn't last at all

Fragrance is a very individual preference, which makes reviews not terribly dependable. However, my impressions of this set was that on the positive side, it cured me of wanting to try or buy any full-sized Ellis Brooklyn fragrances, which are quite expensive for my budget. Of this 8-piece sampler set, I only liked Fable and Rives. Myth and West smelled OK but had zero lasting power. RRose had an "old lady" rose smell, Fawn smelled like Playdough, SciFi smelled like antiseptic room spray, and Raven smelled just plain bad. I'm going back to my perfume faves (currently Pacifica Kindred Spirit), and stop wasting money by experimenting.
