Most Helpful Positive Review WOW I usually don't write reviews but I had to share with this one!! I have struggled my whole life to find a deodorant that works. I've tried regular store bought such as dove, secret, natural such as native, sage and even prescription, nothing worked they all actually made me stink!! If I didn't wear deodorant I'd smell like BO, and when I'd wear deodorant I'd smell like I tried to coverup the BO with some feminine smell and just made it worse.,. Needless to say it was a big confidence downer for me I never wanted to hug people, relax with my arms up, grab something from up high with someone near me... I wanted to try a few things front blume so I figured whats another one to try maybe the probiotics will work for me.... Well this literally has changed my life.... I had to experiment a little with application as I shower at night time so I'd put it on before bed and I broke out in a rash after the first few nights, but it worked !!! so I didn't want to give up, I contacted Blume they were very helpful and told me the baking soda can cause that reaction, not to apply at night. So after that I applied when I was getting ready for work in the mornings and I have had 0 issues!! I do breathe my hot breath on the stick before I first apply to melt the formula a little before applying as it is kind of uncomfortable when you first apply as it's quite hard but aside from that, I FINALLY am no longer self conscious I have NO smell, nothing!!! I am SO happy.... Thank you Blume!!!
Most Helpful Critical Review Works, but the texture is too harsh I've been using natural deodorants for years, and I've tried most of the big names on the market. I was really happy with Native for about 2 years until it started causing major skin irritation (either my skin became sensitive to one of the ingredients over time, or their formula changed when they got bought out by P&G...). In my hunt for a replacement I decided to try Blume, since I already use their face products. I like that they focus on gentle, skin friendly ingredients; as someone with really sensitive skin, that's very important to me. I've been using Hug Me for about a week now. I'll start with the positives: IT WORKS. I try never to exaggerate in product reviews so I mean it when I say I've had ZERO body odor while using this deodorant. I put it through some pretty serious tests this week too: warm weather, a lot of walking/lugging around heavy stuff, and a ton of stress sweat. But it never let me down. At the end of a rough 16 hour day I can stick my nose right up in my pits and there is absolutely no stink. I can't even say that about Native. And since it's unscented, you know it's not just covering it up, but truly preventing the smell. I even skipped showering/reapplying one day (I was just bumming around the house), and at the end of that SECOND day there was still zero smell. I don't think I've ever encountered a deodorant so effective, even back in my clinical strength antiperspirant days. Ok, I know that's a lot of gushing, but now...the bad: it feels like rubbing straight up sandpaper against my poor sensitive pits. The texture of this stick is SO rough, at first I couldn't even get it to apply at all; I had to rub it against my arm a bunch before it softened enough to roll on. But even then it feels like it's scraping my skin. One day my pits felt like they were on fire all day because it had actually SCRATCHED me. Not the plastic case, I had the stick rolled out pretty far, but the actual deodorant itself left scratches on my skin. Now yes, I realize my skin is probably more sensitive than the average person, but I can't imagine this texture feels ideal for anyone. I've continued using the trick of pre-rubbing it on my forearm a bunch to soften it up with my body temp first, but this a) wastes product and b)means I then have to scrub my forearm (which is less sensitive than my armpits but still gets scratched up). And even then, the friction of it rubbing inside my pits all day as I move still causes some irritation (it also causes it to clump/flake off a bit). For now I've decided that the major upside of no stink is worth having to go through extra steps and sometimes deal with skin irritation. It does seem to be getting slightly better as my body adjusts, or maybe the stick is softening slightly as it gets used. But if Blume could find a way to soften the formula (maybe even put it in a jar like old-school Schmidt's if necessary) I would be a user for life and would recommend it to everyone I know.

I wanted to look for a more natural deodorant, and I thought this one seemed reasonable with the size it is! The first few days I started using it- it was great- kept me odorless all day. I know it is not an antiperspirant, or else that would mean it is clogging your pores- sweat is natural (embrace it!)
Hoever, after about a week of using it, my underarms started smelling really weird- kind of like cat pee, and idk what caused that, but I stopped using it since then. I'm sad because I wanted it to work and I never got a rash or anything from it.
Not really for me 1
Crzma from Lexington, Nebraska
For me, this deodorant was a fail. I workout every day and this just couldn't hold up. It's probably the worst natural deodorant I've ever tried.
Did not help with BO 3
Lily from Pasco, WA
Was looking for a healthier option for DEO but this one just didn't cover up any smell and didn't help with my sweaty underarms, LOL.
The worst 1
Nicki Jackie from Sacramento, CA
This is absolutely the worst deodorant I have ever used. I am someone who has incredibly thin sensitive skin and rarely wears deodorant and never wears antiperspirant. This stuff gave me a horrible red itchy rash that has discolored my skin. The discoloration has not faded. The texture of it feels nice and moisturizing as well as it having a pleasant smell but for some reason my skin reacted horribly. This is the first probiotic deodorant I have tried and even lush deodorant bars give me a rash. I will have to go back to powder. Hope this helps someone who has skin like mine because I very much wanted to love it and find something that I can use daily.
Wouldn't buy again 2

I was looking for something aluminum-free/clean ingredients. The reviews made me buy it. I didn't like how thick it was and how you had to drag it just to apply onto the skin. Did not keep me dry AT ALL—I actually felt like I sweated more with this, but I also didn't smell. The worse part was that it stained my white lab coat and it's not coming off.
Not repurchasing 1

This deodorant goes on really thick. If I wear a tank top and start sweating, it runs like mascara. It's disgusting and not ideal.
Worked ok but bad reaction 2
Jenn from Florida
I think this deodorant works as well as any of the other more natural and non aluminum products. However, after a few days of using the deodorant, I noticed my left underarm becoming discolored. Soon after that, the underarm became very sensitive as if it was burned. The interesting thing about the whole situation is that the other underarm was fine. Needless to say, I stopped using the product immediately and everything resolved and is back to normal.
It gives me a terrible rash 2
Jackie from Sacramento, CA
It seems to smell great and feel great but it gives me a rash after shaving.
Not terrible, but also not great. 2
bbla from California
Kept me mostly dry & odor-free- not as long as conventional sticks, creates buildup, & easy clothing transfer. Steer clear if prone to heat rash/sweat pimples.
It worked but it didn't… 2
Xoxo from Dallas, Texas
It worked but I wouldn't recommend - no matter how desperate you are. I have semi-sensitive skin and get anxiety sweats. The rough texture of the deodorant tore me to pieces. It clogged my pores and led to embarrassing pimples. Since I was desperate for something to work and it did eliminate smell and limited the sweat - I mixed it with another smoother deodorant thinking the texture was the problem. It did made the texture better but my skin was still not having it and causing embarrassing damage. Again - wouldn't recommend.
No Smell but Rash 1
Nella from Texas
I was excited to try this one, but I realized it is not for me. While it works wonders; no smell all day, my armpits turned dark, reddish on the sides, and wrinkly. It gave me a rash. It basically burned my skin, and it was peeling off after the second week.
I never write reviews 5
Gwendolyn from North Carolina
this is the best natural deodorant I have ever used. I have tried toms, native, hello and many others. this is the only deo that has actually prevented me smelling and kept me somewhat dry (it does not contain aluminum so it can only do so much). I love this and will never go back to any other deo.
Works but dark armpits 3
Jackie from Florida
It controls my body smell and I sweat less but it has made my armpits so dark and with darker lines that look like burns even thou it doesn't hurt. I was still using it because i can't get the darkness to go away. I used it for 3 months and I've even exfoliate and it's not getting better.
DOES NOT WORK 1
Ro from Queens, New York
The deordorant was dripping down my arms from sweat and does not color any body odor. I have applied the deodorant hours before any activity that would cause me to sweat and it would still drip down. No matter how many coats- 1, 2, 3, or 4- I put on, my armpits smell. I wanted to like this product because of the reviews but to be honest, I question the authenticity of many reviews after trying this product.
Surprising satisfied 5
mamamia from seattle, wa
I have tried every type of deodorant and they always worked for a couple weeks, but then the stink eventually came back. I've used this one for about 6 months now and it's still holding strong, even in 100+ degree weather. I've always been afraid to wear tank tops or sleeveless tops, but I'm able to with Hug Me deodorant.
It IS textured and I had mild rash from it in the beginning, but I persevered because the benefits far outweighed the risks. I'm happy I did because I have absolutely no issue with it now, and it works like a charm.
No stink, but gave me a rash 3
sensitive pits from WA
If you have sensitive armpits, this isn't for you! This made my armpits bright bright red, which isn't uncommon for me, but it does mean I have to return it. No noticeable smell all day which is great! So if you don't have sensitive armpits I would recommend this!
Not for me 1
Dre from Minneapolis, MN
May work for some- just not me... at all. So thick and it hurt to apply. I have struggled with BO my entire adult years and have been trying to find a natural one that works. So far, no luck. Tried Type A- love the scents and applicator, Lume- smells funny but lasts longest. You
Great but textured 5
Cail Carl from LA
So I have been using mens deodorant for years because I couldn't find anything to stop the odor. I got the Pacifica charcoal under arm detox and then used this right after, morning and night. Even after 1 day I don't smell horrible! It doesn't stop sweat but the odor isn't bad. I will say that if you shave and then apply this it will hurt your armpits. This deodorant is textured. So heads up!
It's okay 3
Brooke from NJ
I started using natural deodorant last year and started with Native, which was pretty good but it always felt more wet or slimey. So I switched to this and it's good with not feeling wet or slimey when it is applied however my underarms smell very weird. For the first few uses it worked well and now my armpits smell like cat pee. I guess I just have to keep trying but not sure if I'd try this again.
Good Deodorant but not for me 3
amt from Georgia
This deodorant is the first one where I don't smell no matter how hot it is outside and where it doesn't make me itch. Unfortunately after a while I noticed my underarms are extremely dark and wrinkly. I had to stop using this because of how dark my underarms got. It's a good deodorant just didn't do well with my skin.
BEST EVER 5
taylor from TX
this is the only deodorant that has worked for me in the past few years. i was skeptical cause it was unscented but it completely neutralizes all odor. don't be afraid to layer it on either; it doesn't get sticky!!!!
Horrible! 1
Bluesy80 from Gillette, Wy
I was excited to try since it had a lot of positive reviews. This made me break out into a huge rash and discolored my underarms so bad!!! Did not even work, after 4 hrs this made my pits smell worse than my original secret clinical ever did! If I could I would give it no stars! Do not buy!
Better than mens deodorant 5
10/10 recommend from Tampa, FL
I have never been big on natural deodorant because they just wouldn't work and would irritate my skin. This product had such great reviews I figured I'd give it a try and it works amazing. I previously used old spice deodorant and even that would wear off after a long day in the Florida heat but this stuff works amazing and I love that it is scentless. I just got back from an hour walk in 90+ degree weather and still smell great.
High hopes but fell short 2
Sara from Pennsylvania
I suffer from not so fresh pits and have tried everything. Saw this and read the reviews but unfortunately it didn't anything different than all the others. My search continues.
Not Too Shabby 3
Sinclair from NY
Worked pretty well. This has become my go to. I'm still a bit funky after a really hot/humid day so I'm still working that out. Overall, not bad I guess.
