I'm an Olaplex fan and was excited to try the Healthy Hair Discovery Set. It's an affordable way to sample what Olaplex has to offer and decide which products are right for you. As far as the specific products, 2 I have used before and love are the No.4 Bond Maintenance Shampoo and the No.5 Bond Mai...ntenance Conditioner. Both of these feel and smell like luxury products and make my hair look and feel amazing. They are rich and thick in texture without weighing my hair down. The shampoo lathers extremely well, and the conditioner makes my hair very soft. They also go a long way. With how long and thick my hair is, I can burn through shampoo and conditioner, but I don't have to use as much with Olaplex as I have to use of most other brands. I got 2 washes out of the trial set for both of these. Then you have the No. 3 PLUS Complete Repair Treatment. You apply this pre-wash treatment on damp hair and leave on for 3 minutes. It repairs hair damage to create stronger and softer hair. I've used this treatment before too, and I am still a little on the fence. I cannot tell much difference with it, but it probably requires longer use to see results. As for the products that were new to me, I really liked the No.6 Bond Smoother, a light hair cream that tames frizz. I use a small amount on damp hair then let my hair air dry, though it works blow drying too. I will get a lot of use out of this trial size since you need so little at a time. Similarly, you will get a lot of use out of the No.7 Bonding Oil, which only requires a few drops at a time. This is a lightweight hair oil that adds shine. I don't tend to use oils for fear they weigh down my hair, but I will give this one credit for being lighter than I'm used to, though I did not notice much difference in shine when drying and styling my hair naturally. I think this would be best when going for a styled sleek and straight look. The instructions suggested using both the cream and oil, but I decided I prefer using them at separate times. The last product in the set was the No.0.5 Scalp Longevity Treatment. This was my least favorite product in the set and the only one I would not use, though I do think it could be right for people with scalp issues. While technically an unscented product, it smells horrible to me. It can be applied to wet hair or as overnight treatment on dry hair and is supposed to hydrate and soothe the scalp as well as strengthen the scalp barrier. However, you likely won't see results using just the trial size. It was unclear how much product to use at a time, but I ended up using most of the trial size in one go as an overnight treatment and could not tell a difference on my hair in the morning. On the positive side though, it did not make my hair greasy like I was worried about. Overall, I really enjoyed this Discovery Set! I ended up with 3 products I love and 2 others that I'm also happy with, so I think that's a big win! Product was received as part of an educational promotion.
