Most Helpful Positive Review I am OBSESSED with this!!!
Turquoise: The first color I had used was the Turquoise Styling Gel. I've never dyed my hair ever because I didn't want to commit to a color nor did I want to risk ruining my curls. I fell in love with the blue in my hair from the beginning. Of course, it did not come out as a bright turquoise since I have very dark hair, but after the second application, it was very vibrant. As someone who doesn't come out of her comfort zone, it was a big deal for me. I got many compliments on the color.
Gold: This is probably my second favorite (Copper is my first!). I've always wondered how I'd look with gold in my hair, but I always figured that it wouldn't go with my complexion. But, after using the Gold Styling Gel, I definitely am looking into going blonde some day. This color came out AMAZING!!!! After diffusing, I kept staring at myself in the mirror because the gold was so bold.
Copper: Now this is my FAVORITE color! Since it's October, I decided to go with copper to try an orange hue in my hair. This color does NOT disappoint at ALL. I was not excited to try this color because I can never imagine myself with orange hair. But now my entire world has changed and this is by far my favorite color in the series.
Rose Gold: I am going to be honest. This is a very pretty color, and it smells amazing, but it was my least favorite. And it's partially my fault. In my head, I had figured that this color would be pink, however, it does come out as rose gold as the packaging says. It came out very nicely on my hair and it worked as the other colors had, I just didn't like this color as much as the other ones.
Ruby: I am currently wearing the Ruby as I recently got it to complete the Color Styling Gel series and it is RED. It's not subtle and I LOVE IT. It shines (especially in the light) and it stands out when I'm with my friends because it's SO red. I would definitely recommend.
I definitely recommend these products, the price is a bit much, but it's worth it!!!

Rose gold: I tried this in the shower on wet hair. It says to apply to damp or dry hair. My shower was covered in product, but the application was easy enough. While my hair was wet, the color looked dark and wasn't showing up very well so I only did one small section, got out of the shower, dried my hair until is was just damp and continued with a second section. The section that I did wet in the shower actually ended up being more defined and vivid. It clumped and curled my hair better than most products. The damp section came out frizzy, but the color showed up pretty well too. Don't panic if you don't see the color at first. Let your hair dry completely, you should see it show up. Made my hair really shiny too. Make sure you're using something under this product to protect your hair. At least use a leave-in conditioner. I'll probably do a leave-in and moisturizer next time I use this. Maybe even a custard for hold prior to adding the color. Overall I'd try this again in the shower to get the best definition and color saturation. Smells like melon but not too sweet or strong which I loved. My hair felt dry, but not crunchy, and the color didn't transfer once dried completely. The item is pretty pricey for 3 ounces but it's the only product of its kind on the market right now so unless you want to use a stinky wax or something more permanent and damaging you'll have to make the investment. I'd recommend it and I'll probably try it again and maybe other colors too.

I dyed my hair orange a couple months ago and I was looking for something to put on my outgrown roots. This product is absolutely perfect!! It combs in very nicely with the rest of my hair. Plus clean up is so easy to take care of. I always get some of the product on my hands and it washes right off with soap and water. 10 out of 10 definitely would recommend!
Love This for my Kiddos!

My son, who's 8, has been asking to dye his hair blue and purple. He's a dirty blonde color and because of his age I don't want him to start dying his hair yet. This was a good alternative. It is heavily pigmented bright teal/aqua. It washes out fully with one wash.

im a brunette and i love the way the ruby looks on my hair. i apply it to the ends of my hair and it adds a nice pop to my curls. only con i have is that it's a bit on the pricier side for a smaller sized bottle. it also came off of my brushes but it washed right out when i cleaned them.
Fun way to change up our curls

I loved how easy it was to apply. It smelled good, rinsed easily off my hands. I didn't put a ton on. But it did make my hair feel waxy.
NO TRANSFER! Long Lasting

I loved it! This was so easy to use. I used the gel for a few days. The color faded with each day, but it was so easy to use.
One of my favorites

I love CurlSmith products. I love Ruby color.
Add a little fun to your wash day.
Deanna from Undisclosed
It is great to be able to add a little color to your hair without actually coloring it. This color on dark hair really only adds a lighter glint, but still fun. And I love the gel, I wish they made it without color... cause I would use it every wash day.
I would buy this product again

I love the colors gels, I bought all except de blue. I love using the ruby and the gold the most. I used when I feel to have a different hair color. It has a medium hold and it give me a good cast and It hold me up to 5 days. I love curlsmith products.

Beautiful accents on my curls!
Fun to play with

When wet very messy and sticks to anything it touches. I wore an old t-shirt when applying the gel. Once it dries it does not come off until you wet your hair again. It easily comes off when water touches it. Takes a LONG TIME to dry.
You have to put on A LOT More than you would think for the color to show. The gel held my curls all day but the color faded by the end of the day. The Ruby was more noticeable than the Rose Gold. Rose Gold gave my blond hair a hint of strawberry blond, I put it all over my hair and it looks like a natural shade of hair. I did not put more on after it dried yet. The Ruby was more noticeable with some red streaks. I tried Ruby 2nd so I put more on my hair than I did the day before with the Rose Gold. Both times took longer than expected to dry. I put the gel on soaked hair and put on a conditioner base, I let my hair air dry and I had to give myself more time to make sure my hair didn't touch anything until it dried. I got some color on my jacket but it came off easily with water. At the end of the day I washed my hair and all the color came off very easily with my normal hair wash routine.
I thought the Ruby would be to bright for my blond hair (I didn't want to look like a clown) but it was nice. I got more complements from other people about the red, but I liked the natural look of the pink on my hair better.
definitely a pop of color
Nini from Massachusetts
I received many comments about my hair. I blended the copper and gold to really get a brighter color. I am happy with the result. The gold alone was ok, but I was going for a brighter appearance. Adding the copper definitely brought a different vibe. The product was easy to use. I used the weightless air-dry cream that was recommended to use alongside this product. The hair make-up smelled so good. Yes it's a tad messy, but nothing that soap and water can't fix. I did have some color transfer when I used my hair bonnet, but I expected it. My only negative is that the hair make up dries very quickly. This is technically a great thing, however, for next time I would need to be a bit speedier in my process or change my technique a bit so my hair doesn't get frizzy (my hair in general tends to dry quickly as well). After I diffused my hair I did go back to apply more color to really get that pop. Bottom line: this was so fun! I kept the hair makeup in for almost a week, by day 4 my hair wasn't as bright, but I'm not complaining. I can't wait to try the other colors!
Wouldn't buy it again

The color didn't show on my dark hair also it is transfering even after days
No I wouldn't buy this again

Although the concept of this product was good it is transferring although it says it doesn't.
Not worth it

Not worth it. This gets over anything.

I purchased the turquoise and have gotten so many compliments on my hair since putting it in. Seriously, even strangers have gone out of their way to ask what color this is. I do think there's a learning curve to this product. You must apply when your hair is wet (generously) and then when your hair is completely dry you can add more to make the color pop. It does fade a bit quickly but what can you expect from something that's meant to be super temporary? Easy to apply more whenever the color fades. It's my second day and I reapplied this morning and it's lasting great so far half way through the day! I didn't have an issue with it transferring onto my clothes/hands once dry but I would still be cautious to wear any white clothing with this in your hair.
Awesome color and gel
Squirrel Hair from OK, USA
I can't describe how much I love this stuff! Not only are the colors fun but the gel itself is amazing. Leaves a super hard cast but scrunches out very well. It gives my hair some much needed texture (fine, low density) and doesn't rub off easily. I was also pleased to see no overnight transfer on my white pillow. It's given me some great ideas for future hair colors. It's worth every penny and always keep a tube handy!
Not bad for a temporary color

I used this product because I had wanted to color my hair without the damage. I bought the copper color and I had to be pretty heavy handed with the color for it to show up enough on my hair. That being said, it did leave my hair very dry because it also serves as a gel (I use a styling gel regularly but only a small amount since my hair is fine). As for transfer, it wasn't a huge issue. You will get glitter on your hands and hair ties/scrunchies but thats about it. Super pretty color though!
Love This Product
Curly Q from Texas
I hope that Curlsmith neither discontinues this product nor changes the formula. At the moment my hair can't handle being dyed. This hair makeup is a great way to change up the color without causing any damage. So far I've used copper and gold. Looking forward to using ruby next!
Kray Kay from Georgia
This is just awesome. Ive tried ruby and blue and loved both. Im gonna be trying the others also. The texture is normal, doesnt rub off, its easy to clean up and wash out. Smells great and works great with my curls!
Joannie from Orlando FL
I normally love curlsmith it's my holy grail. But these gels are not it. Flakes ... My son had his face laying on my hair and it left his face red (day 3 hair) takes a lot of product to show color and very hard cast. so messy. Not worth the $
DO NOT BE FOOLED
Marisol from Washington DC
I didnt want permanent color and I thought this was a good solution. But DO NOT BE FOOLED! This color gets on everythinggggg! Its a messy process applying it and even when its dry, it gets on your hands, your clothes and hair accessories. Curlsmith is a good brand but this product is awful and not transfer-resistant as they say. DONT DO IT!
Tatiana from Pinole
I have been trying to get my hands on this since I discovered it. My hair is super curly and thick so I like how this has been created so I won't have to bleach or dye my hair ! I LOVE the color it is pink metallic and it just matches my hair and it is easy to remove and apply !
Not worth it
B from Los Angeles
Takes a lot of product for even a little color to show up even in my blonde hair. Leaves hair feeling icky and gets sparkles EVERYWHERE. My entire body is glimmering from whatever glitter/sparkles they put in this stuff. Fun idea, but terrible execution.
Not going to buy again!
Cait from Indianapolis
Everything that this product has said it doesn't do did, cause it transfers like crazy and super glittery. I didn't read what hair type it was when I bought it but I still used it to see if it would work for my Halloween costume but in stead I showed to get it mostly out of my hair. My hair tends to hold onto color even if it says washable. It just didn't work for me.
Pink makeup dye
Elizabeth from Maryland
The rose gold is semi nice as in the pigment is there but not as much as you would think. Probably is better if you put this color in your hair when it's dry. Overall I think a different color would be nice.
