I've been using this moisturizer for about month now, and it's great! - I have combination skin and I'm usually never without a pimple or two or three. But, my skin has been so good since I've been using this moisturizer.
I was running out of my previous moisturizer and needed to purchase a new one, and I've been meaning to try a new brand. I was also going to Europe soon for a few weeks so I wanted to get something that was under 3.0 oz so I wouldn't have a spend money on a normal-sized moisturizer for home AND a travel-sized moisturizer. After much research (and positive experiences with other Origin products), I settled on this moisturizer and I'm so happy with it! I use this at night and I use the VITAZING SPF 15 moisturizer during the day.
It's super light-weight which is awesome if you tend to get oily, yet moisturizing enough for my "normal" areas like my cheeks...however, I will probably switch over to something heavier during the the colder/drier California winter months. It smells wonderful as well - if you like citrusy scents.
The only thing I would change about the moisturizer is....a pump bottle? I'm not huge fan of dipping my fingers over-and-over again into a pot even though I know my fingers are clean. I don't even like using lip balms that are in a pot/tin.
Nothing is for everyone. I thought: let me wear an SPF-free moisturizer for the days I stay indoor.
So I bought this, just for moisture. When I first apply this, it is fresh, absorbs quickly and my skin feels moisturized. Come back an hour later: my skin in shiny-oily, the same teenage look I really want to forget. Not for me, not for me, not for me.
With the APW with SPF-25 (love, love, love) , my skin looks fresh and mate till I wash it again at night, and mind you, it's meant for normal/dry skin.
For some reason, the GinZin makes my skin produce more oil. So..No, I'll pass on this one, will give it away.

This moisturizer is making me break out and causes redness on my face. I've never used anything that makes my face red like this. It looks horrible. I need to figure out how to return. I usually use the Matt willow moisturizer which I love but great for summer time abs needing something more moisturizing for colder weather.

Piling is real. Those white flakes even after trying to pat it on, if you later touch your face, it comes off like how hot glue comes off surfaces.

I initially liked the lightweight texture and smell of this but even after waiting a while to apply makeup I still get pilling with this. I've tested to see if it could be other things but after process of elimination it's definitely this one! Might be fine if you don't wear makeup over this.

Finally had a chance to review this product - I would never repurchase this product again! I couldn't even finish the product. I noticed that makes my face flaky. I thought my face was peeling but after discontinuing this product my issue stopped. It may be that my skin wasn't absorbing the product but this definitely wasn't worth the hype nor my money.

Please bring back the original formula, which was my ride-or-die moisturizer for YEARS. My aestheticians/derm always complemented my skin. This new oil-free formula leaves my skin so dry and flaky a few hours after application… something I hadn't struggled with since before 2012. Really wish you hadn't fixed what wasn't broken. Please please please change this one back to the original formula. I most likely won't repurchase until then.

Scrolling through the reviews, it seems like I'm not the only one experiencing this residue issue. I see responses from the Origins team recommending patting instead of rubbing, this is not exactly practical. I'm not sure if the product isn't absorbed or what, but it really does just sit on top of the skin. When I apply my tinted moisturize on top of it, it just moves with it, making make up application very difficult to stay put and look even.

I've used this moisturizer for years, and never had an issue until the last couple of jars I've purchased. All the prior reviews are 100% accurate- it pills like crazy within one hour of application. I kept thinking it was my tinted moisturizer I had been layering on top that was causing this change, but after trying many different foundations and tinted moisturizers, and using the product alone for several months, I've concluded that the origins product is the problem. Noticed this approximately one year ago, repurchased a couple more times and told myself "maybe I got a bad batch"? But NO- stay away, the formula has absolutely changed and I'm switching permanently to Tarte's Don't Hate Hydrate" moisturizer. It has a similar consistency, is also oil free and has so far caused no irritation for my sensitive skin. I'm sad because I used to love origins products ✌🏻✌🏻✌🏻✌🏻

Even at almost 60yo I still have slightly oily skin. This moisturizer is light and absorbs quickly, with no oily feeling at all. I love it!
Meaghan from Virginia
Pills, gives a grey overtone to skin. Garbage. Like I literally tried to use on my body so it wouldn't be a complete waste and it still was. Now just using as a hand moisturizer. Don't waste your money

I have been using this for a few months now, and I'm pretty much set on continuing. I now only LOVE the smell, but I love how hydrated my skin feels, and I'm 62!

This moisturizer has 100% transformed my skin and has made me convert into ONLY using Origins products! It keeps me hydrated without becoming oily throughout the day. Love love love it!!!!

I love this product. I can't live without it.

I love this moisturizer.

I use Origins products for almost all of my skincare needs, which means I often end up with samples and testers included in my purchases. This moisturizer is almost always included, so I've tried it multiple times over the years, but I've finally given up. For whatever reason, it just doesn't agree with my skin. It leaves a tacky feeling all over and if I touch my face or try to put makeup over it, it comes off in little balls.
Anne21 from California
My skin feels like it's burning when apply this moisturizer. My skin is dry but not to the point that I see s lot of wrinkles. This product tights my skin on the surface and it pronounces the wrinkles. It also peels of like other reviews say.
Lucy from Capitola
I wish I'd read the reviews before purchasing this GinZing moisturizer. Long story short, yes this lotion pills. It doesn't work under makeup, and if you apply more than one layer it pills up and comes right off. I'm going to return mine!
Christina109 from Nanuet, NY
Produces a burning itchy feeling on my skin after a few minutes. Then it pills into little balls, as others have mentioned. Doesn't seem to moisturize at all. Tried a few different times with the exact same result. I'm disappointed that I spent so much on this product when cheap drugstore brands do a better job. Also, Origins is no longer a cruelty-free company, which is disappointing.

I have dry skin skin and tends to get flakey but when I use oil based moisturizer I breakout. This moisturizer I have been using for 2 years now and I have no complains.
Ashley from Wichita, KS
I've been using this moisturizer for years. Spells good and works well.
Anni from Boston,MA
Like this product wanna love it but this is why. It goes on nice and smooth on your face, face looks radiant when put it on but after a while it pills doesn't sink in your skin that's my issue with it.
Hanicorn from Minnesota
This is a nice lightweight moisturizer that gives a dewy look to skin without feeling heavy. However, it pills after a few hours so I cannot recommend this product.
Amanda from Nashville
i wouldnt say i have the *most* sensitive skin in the world but it definitely doesnt do well w 99.99% of moisturizers. im talkin cystic acne, gets oily but somehow still dry, makeup application looks terrible, etc. but this ones so hydrating yet lightweight my skin does drinks it up. only downside is theres no spf BUT what i do is get the liquid spf from neutrogena and mix 5 drops of that w the moisturizer and im golden. highly recommend if you have combo skin that doesnt do well w creams

I used this moisturizer for a year. I love the scent and even love how it feels when I first put it on my skin, but it does not last. I couldn't figure out why the hydration wasn't lasting..... In the summer my skin would be hydrated, but once it started getting colder outside this did not keep my skin hydrated at all. My face would literally peel. I now use the Mega-Mushroom Hydra-burst gel lotion.
BTW, I have hormonal acne... sensitive and combo skin. Because I was using products to fight my acne, i needed something to hydrate it.
Ali7 from Burnaby
I bought this product just yesterday. Using it only one time left my skin dry and I got some acne.
Artcansaveus from Sonoma, Ca
I love the smell of this product and how it feels when applied. Unfortunately as other reviewers have cautioned I am super disappointed with how badly it pills/flakes off. When applying make up, products don't lay smoothly, and even without makeup, if you rub your face, it will peel off. I really want to love this product but I won't be buying it again.
