The reasons I love this so much is how well it removes your makeup a little goes a long way it melts away water proof mascara & leaves my face feeling clean and hydrated. Usually you have to pre-wipe mascara & makeup before using facewash but not with this. My mom had given me a Clinique facewash I tried it a few times just to check it out and it doesn't remove your makeup all the way and leaves my face super dried out. I had this one on hand from Boxycharm and decided to try it. I've washed my face as usual. Before my skin dries, I apply hyaluronic acid, facial oils and then my moisturizer. I usually wake with soft, moisturized skin. When I awoke the next morning, I had dry, flaky skin about an inch all around my mouth. I didn't realize it was the GlamGlow Gentlebubble. I thought it was the dry, warm air from the thermostat I turned on started since the temps dropped in October. I even added sleep mask to my nighttime routine, hoping that would help. Not at all. The description on the Ulta website says this cleanser may cause sun sensitivity and to keep it away from the eyes. Then I read the ingredients and found sodium hydroxide which is lye. Lye is irritating and strips the skin. I won't use soaps with lye on my body, let alone my face. This is the first liquid cleanser that has ever dried out my combo skin. If you have dry skin, this is not for you. The surfactants in this product are gentle but lye is a no-no... at least for me.
