[I received this product in exchange for my honest review] I take the ethics of testing and reviewing products very seriously. If I don't like an item, I am not afraid to say so. I review products with total honesty because, if they don't work for me, I want not only others with similar features to ...know, but I also want the brand to do better, and hopefully my feedback helps. The Full Rescue Restorative Mask For Thin Hair from Biolage is now my hair mask of choice. It's not only a breeze to use, it leaves hair smooth, full, nourished and all-around healthier looking. I have thin hair but a lot of it. Due to health issues and recent surgery, I lost a decent amount of hair. I am thrilled I've found the Biolage mask and the rest of the line, which has definitely increased my hair volume. You use the product once or twice a week after shampooing, applying not only up to the roots, but on the scalp as well (you can feel the product hydrate the scalp without leaving any residue behind or producing oily hair), lather, comb through, and let it sit for 3-5 minutes. This is the perfect time to lather up with shower gel or soap, shave, and wash your face. Rinse, and you're ready to proceed with your out-of-shower routine. No conditioner, though you can spray a light leave-in on damp hair if you'd like, but I don't find it necessary. I was a little apprehensive about the scent of the mask since I don't exactly love the herbal potency of rosemary, but it's virtually unnoticeable. It leaves hair with a very subtle scent that's comparable to more expensive hair care products that I've used; clean and fresh, with a touch of something intangible, a memory of standing in a field of wildflowers that overlooks the ocean. No more turning on the shower, shampooing your hair (some masks have you wait until after you rinse out the mask to shampoo), turning off the shower, towel drying, sectioning, applying product from mid-lengths to end, combing, waiting anywhere from five to twenty minutes, turning the shower back on, rinsing, followed by the rest of your shower routine. If you live in an older, big city apartment building, you likely understand how long it can sometimes take for hot water to reach your shower head. I love the Biolage Full Rescue Restorative Mask and plan to keep the line in my rotation. Cheers!
