Decided to try out this product after using the Anastasia brow pencil for freckles for years, and wanted to switch to something that had more staying power. I like how this freckle pen is very affordable and with a little bit of practice, I was able to figure out that it's best to paint a few freckles at a time and then tap them in before they dry. Tapping the freckles while wet helps blend the product into the skin and acts similar to a lip stain - once the freckles are on my cheeks, they are on there for almost the full day, even with a mask on. I have gotten so many compliments and most people have no idea they're just makeup! Also note, I have very fair skin, and I agree w/ the other reviews that if you don't blend in the freckles, you're left with black spots that look like shiny eyeliner. As a result, it takes a little practice to use this product and I wouldn't recommend it to beginners or people who aren't willing to experiment and work with it a little. But compared to other freckle pens on the market, this is an awesome buy for the price, quality, and effect.
I want to start this review off by saying I have used a ton of these freckle products. Not wanting to drop $20+ every time I want a new Freck, I started trying the new and more affordable ones. This is probably the fifth one I have tried (not because I didn't like the others, but because I want to try all my options) and it is probably my least favorite. I know how to use these types of products, so it's not a learning curve issue, it's a formula issue. I wouldn't mind the formula being so dark (because it is VERY dark) because I absolutely understand not everyone has my skin tone and darker products may work for others. The color isn't the issue, the problem is the formula is too thick and sticky. It dries down almost instantly, meaning no matter how quickly you go in to tap and blend it out, it's just not happening. In comparison, for a similar price you can get the Lottie London freckle product similar to this one, and it has the same thinner formula most of these have that blends out wonderfully and gives you very natural looking freckles (when used correctly) I almost wanted to return this but I decided to keep it, specifically to do darker single accent freckles. Because the formula of this is so sticky and sets so quickly, the freckles it makes are long lasting, so I like doing one near my eye or on my lip (just a small little accent dot), and it doesn't budge. Do I think everyone needs it for this reason though? Absolutely not. If you're looking for a user friendly formula, try the Lottie freckle product.

In order to acheive the look you all are wanting with this freckle product, you need to dab your finger over the spots you place almost immediately after placing a couple and spreading it out. It becomes less dark and more natural looking. Though this product has a learning curve, I love it and appreciate that I can achieve a face full of freckles almost effortlessly now.

Too dark and not natural when using pen directly on face. But then I learned to wet a makeup sponge, dot the product on the sponge, and then blot the sponge on my face. It looked great and natural using that method!

This does not stay on. It looks like dark brown ink when applied. You can mess with it to get the freckle effect, however, it just comes off right away.

When I read the reviews on this I was a bit skeptical but because of the price I purchased it anyway. I don't know what everyone was talking about but this is such an amazing product!!!! you put a dot of it on your skin then dab at it and it looks so natural!!!!!!!

It's terrible. Its so dark and goes on so heavy. It's horrible really. Like i cant even use it for anything terrible. It jas to go straight to the teash can
