This tanner has a very nice smell, not your typical self-tanner smell. It has a spray bottle that you spray on the mitt and apply wherever you'd like. It is a nice natural tone, that is dark enough for me. I have a golden-colored skin, so any product that comes out slightly orange, looks super orange on me... not this one! It's amazing. I would touch up every other day if you want to keep it up. If not, it may fade away within a few days. Highly recommend! The picture is what it looks like after one coat, right away. It gets darker throughout the day.
I, too, have tried many many different kinds of sunless tanners and I'm still searching for the perfect one. I am nearly convinced it doesn't exist. Ha! This Spray smells lovely (like tropical coconuts) but its fairly strong. After developing, it does have that hint of "sunless tanner" smell, but it's bearable. The color guide is a nice brown and develops quickly. Slight rub off, but not as bad as others I've tried with a color guide. But after showering (and especially after shaving) the color you are left with is a light tan...like a natural olive skin tone. I applied two nights in a row and the color looked the same. Perhaps if you applied daily you could get that dark brown color, but for the cost, I don't find that feasible. Did clog the pores on my décolleté as well. Little brown dots are quite unattractive.
As it's fading, it is a little splotchy. Not quite alligatory, but uneven. It does exfoliate off fairly easily, though.
Applying with the mitt was easy enough, but I felt a lot of the product was wasted---I felt I needed to spray a lot to get the coverage I desired. Therefore it didn't go as far as I was hoping. Not practical for the price.
Even though the product is good, it's not the dark tan I was looking for. I returned the product. But if you are looking for a natural, nice smelling sunless tanner, this one is decent. Just not for me!

I've used FakeBake for several years. It has always, until this year, provided a wonderful, streak-less, golden tan that lasted through several showers. Now after just one shower my tan is nearly gone. I am extremely disappointed and hope they correct this. I cannot, in good conscience, recommend this product any longer.

New formula is awful bring back the old

It's a super pretty tan but incredibly hard to tell if you have it on even until hours later. Need to apply every day as it fades quickly.

Context: my skin is cool pale with red undertones.
I bought this self-tanner purely based on reviews, and it didn't disappoint. I've never used one before, but this will be my go-to. Before bed, I washed my face and applied this tanner. At first, I was nervous because it was splotchy (which was mostly due to my skin). But when I washed my face in the morning, it completely evened out to a beautiful sun-kissed glow. Love it!

This is my favorite self tanner, I've used it for years. It makes me look really tan but not streaky or orange. It's also easy to use & doesn't break me out. My only complaint is that it only lasts about 3 days. I usually put it on at bedtime & rinse it off in the morning. Then to help maintain it I use a gradual tanning lotion until I decide to reapply it. It is definitely comparable to a professional spray tan.

I am so excited. I have been wanting to try this for years, I actually bought the bottle about 6 months ago, I hadn't had the nerve to test it! I am extremely pale and freckled with a neutral undertone, so a streaky and orange finish would have been immediately noticeable and awful looking on my skin. I finally worked up the courage to test it a week ago, and all I can say is wow! Not a streak in sight, my skin tone went from bright white to the lovely olive shade I had as a child when I played outside! I have never tried a different self tanner, but so long as this one is on the shelves I see no reason to!

I am blonde with fair skin and over 60. Over exposure to the sun over the years WILL come back to haunt you. I now have age spots ALL over my legs and arms and about 2 years ago, skins cancers begin to appear, causing a trip to the dermatologist very 6 months to either have them removed or monitor new ones. I want to wear shorts in the Summer - yet was very self conscious. My daughter, who is learning from her Mom's sun exposure mistakes, had purchased Fake Bake and said it was really good - so I gave it a try. It comes with gloves and a mit to use to apply the product. It is very easy to do, it doesn't have that awful sunless tanner smell and best of all, it works! My legs immediately looked like I had spent some time in the sun, when in reality, I had spent about 15 minutes using this product. I did order the Fake Bake exfoliating wipes as well for the extra prep they recommended. I will using both of these products for years to come!

I used this last year for a wedding. loved everything about it. i just bought it again. Not sure why the bottle i got was different than the picture advertised on here. It was the exact one i used last year; the purple bottle shown, but i got a different bottle this time that's white. Have no idea why, or if they changed it. This time, i have crease marks anywhere there's a crease on my body, turned my face and hands basically orange, and even after letting it set for 8 hours i'm somehow finding streak/drip marks without even showering. not a fan of this product anymore, definitely bummed.

I've been using this product for over a year now and my latest bottle just doesn't seem to last as long or get as dark. I've never had much come off in the shower and the last two times I've used it I have been able see it go down the drain after rinsing off. It also used to never come off on my white sheets, but does now? I thought maybe I just got a bad bottle, but I checked with a friend who also got a new bottle recently and she has had the same issue. It doesn't last as long anymore either.

I've used st tropez and this and I think I like this one better! Literally 10 mins I compared the color to my pale skin color and it looks like a more sun tan but it looks great! I wish I used this sooner cuz I really do love it and the application is way better and it comes with a mit I usually hate putting self tan on but this process makes it a lot better and it doesn't feel as sticky!

I've always been skeptical of self tanners but I'm so happy I tried this one! The color is so natural on my skin tone. Easy to use and reliable.
Amazing self-tanner from USA
I've tried different self tanners (Jergens, st tropez, loving tan) and there is usually an orange tint for me- but not with this! It spreads evenly if you follow directions and use a mitt and the color is beautifully natural-looking with a bronze olive-ish tone. This pasty porcelain-skinned gal approves.

I have super pale glow in the dark skin. This works great! It said it had a tropical scent and I dont like coconut, so I was worried about that, but it did not smell like coconut and, even if it did, the scent goes away once dry, which is basically instant. The mitt helps to blend evenly and is super soft. It is not yellow or orange on my skin and is not embarrassingly noticeable. The only thing, and I'm sure it would be with any tanner, but I have sun spots and it makes them darker.

This must have been recently reformulated. The packaging was different this time which was the first clue. Then I noticed with the same skin prep routine it took like 4-5 overnight uses to develop the same tan i would get in about 1-2 overnight uses previously. I definitely used it up faster. Good for the company. Not good for my bank account now. 👎🏻 Going to try the darker once and if that has also had the same changes it will be time to hunt down a new favorite product. Bummer as this has been my go-to product for years now.

I love this stuff so much! I am very light skinned and prone to sunburn so I don't tan well naturally. This tanning liquid goes on dark but rinses off beautifully. Use the mitt that's included in a circular motion for an even application. I let it dry for 10 mins and the sleep overnight with it on, then shower. It's best used when your skin is freshly shaven/moisturized and dry.
Claire from Seattle
My trick is to basically slather it on, leave it for 24 hours, and rinse the excess. It looks streaky before you rinse it off (maybe I'm just not good enough at blending but it seems to dry before I can totally even it out). Has been working well so far for me 🤷🏼♀️ doesn't beat the Victoria's Secret self tanner though.

I am a pale girl that only burns in the sun! I used this and wow. What a difference! It's a great color, I like to put it on before bed, dries fast enough I put two layers on. I don't shower everyday, so it can usually last 5-7 days without it getting patchy or having to reapply. I recommend following the instructions, don't apply directly to your skin.

This is a great tanner for on the go! It takes about 10 minutes to apply and dries very fast. I've used this right before weddings and it's the perfect quick self tanner. It does have a smell but not near as bad as some others I've tried. It will last a few days before I wash it off. The color is beautiful! Not streaky!
Gamkin from SC
I use this product with the mitt provided by spraying it on the mitt, then applying to skin. It's goes on evenly and dries quickly. I like the color it produces( not orangey). Usually I apply couple hours before bed after showering so color can set in well.

this is one of the first self tanners I ever tried and no matter how many I try I do seem to always come back to this one. I just feel it's easy to use, nice color and not a terrible smell.

I think this might be my first beauty product review. I typically tell myself I'm going to write one and never do, BUT I had to write one on this.
I've tried so many self tanners: Tan Luxe, Tanologist, St. Moriz, Jergens, St. Tropez etc.
Fake Bake is sooo underrated! I was apprehensive due to having to spray it on the mitt then apply. I've never used a spray like this.
Applied, woke up and couldn't wait to see the results. I was soooo pleasantly surprised! I didn't wake up wanting to take a shower ASAP due to smell. The color is so even. I haven't showered yet and it hasn't been 24hrs but so far I plan to purchase again, and again.
I've never thought this after trying different sunless tanners!
Morgan from Michigan
Washes right off as soon as you shower, waste of money. I waited 7-8 hours and lightly showered and it STILL all came off.
Bec from Tampa
I was so surprised at how bad this was because all of the reviews were so positive. PROS: I love the smell. No nasty fake tan smell. Probably the nicest application of any fake tanner I've use because it wasn't sticky or tacky AT ALL. It was so nice I could just get in bed comfortably without feeling sticky and gross. After that it went down hill so fast. CONS: washed off immediately even though I kept it on over night. The little bit that did stay on was so patchy. The tan lasted for hardly even a day. So disappointing because I was so excited about how it wasn't sticky.

I'm extremely pale, like almost translucent. In the winter I don't really care but in the summer I stick out like a sore thumb! I can't go to the beach or on a boat without someone telling me how pale I am. I've tried self tanners before but they looked terrible, but since we're in quarantine I thought I'd try this one out because of the reviews. it's the best tanner I've tried, no streaking and it didn't collect on my hands, knees, or feet. I have a nice subtle glow and I'm excited to try it out for summer and go out without feeling self conscious about being pale OR having a gross looking tan. If you feel exhausted by self tanners, give this one a try.
Mimzi from Kentucky
Never streaks, no bad smell, noticeable tan with only one application.
