Most Helpful Positive Review New favorite!
I have a lot of rules for skincare and cosmetics due to my mild rosacea and horribly dry, aging, winter skin. The main two are stick with what works and you get what you pay for. Although people swear by Cetaphil, CeraVe, and Eucerin for dry and/or sensitive skin, I just "knew" none of them would help my flaky mess of a face like my rich Caudalie cream that I'm addicted to for winter. The only reason I bought this moisturizer was I had exhausted all expensive foundation options because all of them looked terrible or irritated my skin, looked up best drugstore foundations, bought a foundation, and immediately returned it and needed moisturizer after wiping off the foundation. I've heard good things about Cetaphil for rosacea/sensitive skin, it was cheap, and it had no dimethicone in it. I'll say that again. NO. DIMETHICONE. I don't do well with this particular ingredient, especially if it's one of the first ingredients, so I was more intrigued. Plus, it had hyaluronic acid, which I wanted to try due to all the hype (I'm not immune to curiosity).
Welp, rules are made to be broken, and man! I love this moisturizer! I hesitated to leave such a positive review because I was literally concerned Cetaphil would figure out what a gem they have here and boost the price. It's nearly three times the amount of product as one tube of Caudalie's SOS Rescue Cream, and in three days, I've noticed firmer, smoother, softer skin. The formula requires zero effort to work into the skin, it absorbs lightning quick, has no scent, soothes, cools, and moisturizes like a charm. I look like I'm closer to turning 30 than turning 40. My makeup goes on like a dream, does not slide off my face, etc. I cannot say enough about this product. I was indeed skeptical, but now there's no way you could pry this away from me.
Thank you, Cetaphil! From the bottom of my heart, I'm so pleased to have a moisturizer that helps my unusual skin. I feel beautiful!
Most Helpful Critical Review Average Daily Moisturizer
So I've been looking for a new daily moisturizer without SPF and that wasn't too heavy. I've been using the Cetaphil Oily/Normal skin face wash for 12 years and wanted a face moisturizer made by them as well. This is a lightweight moisturizer but sticky when you apply it. However, my skin is soft and well moisturized throughout the day. I haven't noticed any big breakouts/clogged pores from using this. Overall, it's an ok daily moisturizer but I wouldn't recommend it for severely dry skin.

Bry from Texas
It's too lightweight on the skin, it's too watery and feels like I didn't even moisturize.
I've used many products like this one and this one by far doesn't meet expectations for the price.
Finally a moisturizer that soaks in
slitt from South Florida
This product has saved my skin. I have very sensitive, cystic, ance prone skin that gets very dry. My skin drinks this stuff up, layers perfectly over all my serums. sometimes a little too light for how dry my skin is but since it soaks in and leaves my skin with this perfect finish even in the humidity I just add a serum as needed.
Not recommended for people with dry sensitive skin
Not for dry sensitive skin from Houston, TX
This facial moisturizer break out my skin. I have a very sensitive skin. First time I try it out I felt a burning sensation. I might work on people with oil skin but if you have a dry sensitive skin stay away from this product.
So far so good.
Brit from Mobile, Alabama
I'm battling either hormonal acne or fungal acne. This face lotion is light and don't break me out. Sometimes I need to put on a lot of my skin is dry. Then some days just a little. I was using the vanicream face lotion and that was breaking me out. I think it was the squalane oil. Now if you have extremely dry skin I say try the vanicream daily facial moisturizer.
The best face lotion, it immediately hydrates
Val from Pennsylvania
It immediately hydrates and absorbs into the skin. I have really acne prone skin and oily skin. But sometimes my skin gets really dry from some acne products or medication I am on and this lotion works both when my skin isn't too dry and when my skin is really dry and has never irritated my skin which is not something I can say for a lot of products.

I have SUPER sensitive and oily skin so it's been a real struggle to find a moisturizer that doesn't break me out and isn't too thick or oily. I tried this and IMMEDIATELY thought of the Clinique Dramatically Different Moisturizing Gel that I used to LOVE! It definitely has a more gel-like texture than one of a lotion, but it's perfect for those of us who need lightweight moisture!!
I would buy it again
Bjanelle from Wenatchee, wa
This is what my skin needed for the winter.
I returned this lotion

Great results with routine use
Lela from Houston, TX
Cetaphil has been my moisturizer of choice for 20 years. However, last year I was looking to break away from using their thick, body moisturizing cream on my face which has always been my norm. I still love that product but now I only use it on my face when I'm especially dry or want an extra strong overnight treatment.
Cetaphil's hyaluronic acid moisturizer is super lightweight but gives results if you use it regularly. I have noticed an overall improvement in the baseline of my skin even when I haven't applied this in a couple days. Using it as a regular part of my morning/evening cleansing routine definitely made a positive impact in my skin's hydration. I wish the bottle was bigger and/or the price was lower, but it's good stuff and I'm not keen on finding a new product to replace it right now.
I love it.

I love it. I will continue to buy it.
Good with niacinamide
Nicole from Los Angeles
I have oily and acne prone skin. This has been my favorite moisturizer. I use this after my niacinamide serum from the Ordinary. They pair so well together my acne is under control.
Nice Lightweight Moisturizer
Dorothy Sidekick from North Texas
This moisturizer says it's meant for dry to very dry skin. But in all honesty, it's a very lightweight moisturizer. I would say it's more meant for combination skin. I use it as a daytime moisturizer and it's just enough to hydrate my face without making my t-zone look greasy.
Pros and Cons
Liyah from North Carolina
Skin type: dry to very dry sensitive acne prone skin
I started using this along with the Cetaphil cleanser. And off the bat the consistency of this moisturizer is thin and water like which is fine. It absorbs into the skin quite quickly and leave a nice dewy look. The down skin is that I noticed slight irritation around my eye area, nose and mouth. I think it is better formulated moistures out there to choose from this is not the BEST though.

Do not buy!!!!! Made my skin extremely itchy and blotchy. I NEVER have problems with any skincare products, I have normal, non-sensitive skin, and this BURNED. Sooooo terrible

I have extremely sensitive, aging, combination skin. I used a natural moisturizer for years, then they suddenly reformulated all of their products. Not sure why, they didn't use parabens or any bad ingredients, but they ruined everything for me. Since then, I've tried everything from very expensive department store products to newer brands at Ulta, and I've had more acne and rashes than I've ever had in my life. It's taken many months to get my skin cleared up, plus antibiotic treatment. Out of desperation, I tried this moisturizer. Bingo! It's lightweight and hydrates my skin perfectly. A little goes a long way. There are no harmful ingredients and I've had no new breakouts - it just leaves my skin feeling soft. I use a good toner first after cleansing, then dab this all over my face, pat in in, and it absorbs right in. I'm almost through with my first bottle, and I've ordered another. Is it glamorous? No, but apparently it's just what my skin needed and I'm very happy.
Ugh hated this!
Cait from Florida
I have dry sensitive skin and this was not for me. When my face was dry it would burn and it didn't really provide much hydration...I would still have flakes.
Says lotion so u would think its a cream. Its in fact watery
Marolie from Puerto Rico
Overpriced. Its too watery for it to moisturize my face. Doesnt have any good ingredients except hyaluronic acid
I would not buy this if you have dry sensitive skin!!!!!
Ash from Michigan
This product was way over priced and it my my sensitive skin burn when using it. I would not recommend wasting the money if your dry skin is sensitive
Best facial hydrating lotion I've tried
Gwen from MA
Probably cheaper elsewhere. But great product that works for me and my sensitive skin.
I love this product. I was in need of a good moisturizer.
Shannon from Lexington, s.c
I bought this product because I had such dry skin and this product reversed the dry skin in about 2-3 days!
I love this product!
Ash from Michigan
I have sensitive skin and this product works wonders for me. Makes my skin feel so soft and smooth and does not irritate me at all. My skin feels hydrated all day and I do not get oily which I do in many other face lotions.
I will be buying it again

I use it after facial wash & it feels great.
Sensitive skin appoved
Jennifer from Phoenix, Arizona
If you're looking for a light moisturizer that won't clog pores this is great. Not heavy or greasy.
Moisturizes kinda, burns and breaks me out
Anna from California
I have extremely dry and sensitive skin, it doesnt do miracles, if I use it multiple times in a day it will get me mostly hydrated, except it burns pretty bad when I first put it on and then I'm pretty sure it breaks me out to
Not a good experience...
Ash from MI
I had high hopes for this moisturizer because I generally love Cetaphil products. Like some other reviewers, I too felt a burning and stinging sensation all over my face. This is a very watery consistency and did not feel like it moisturized my skin whatsoever. I felt very dry after a few minutes. Bummer!!
