This formula is smooth, thick, buttery and feels like a mattifying primer so I apply makeup right on top. It is non-irritating, even around my eyes. I have medium/fair skin and there is still a bit of a lavender/white cast even with the subtle tint so I'm not sure if I would recommend this to someone with darker skin. I really like using this in the summer because it isn't oily, but it is a bit too drying for my skin in the winter. I continue to use it around my eyes but use a different moisturizing SPF on the rest of my face. I had heard rave reviews of this product so I went for it but wish it was more affordable. I might buy again if it goes on sale, but otherwise it is a bit pricey for me.
This is a very interesting product. First I was very happy that the tint was very light, meaning it is only tinted enough to get rid of the white cast and otherwise seems to blend in colorlessly. I believe this would work well on fair and dark skin tones. Second, the formula is heavy with silicones...feels like 80% silicone (you should be aware of how silicones work with your skin before buying this). Because of the silicones, it also feels heavy and thick on application and when you apply makeup on top of a proper amount of sunscreen, your makeup slides a bit more. Third, this leaves skin totally matte for hours after application and could be very good for oily skin types such as myself. Overall, I think the silicones contributed to a small breakout I had (silicones may allow other ingredients to penetrate more deeply into the skin) so I had to return but I otherwise I would've kept this product for humid sunny days. I'm currently trying the Etude House Sunprise Mild Airy Finish Sun Milk and that I recommend!

I am a brown Mexican and this left a very noticeable white cast which only got worse when i started to sweat. my sweat was white dripping down my face. it was terrible. I would not recommend this to anyone with color to wear outside :/ it also feels very greasy. at least it didn't break my sensitive skin out

Smooth and silky with a perfectly light tint. Absorbs quickly into skin. Love this product!

This is ridiculously expensive for the tiny bottle you get. I hear this spf raved about all the time, so I picked it up in store on a whim. Didn't pay attention to the oz, as majority of my fave spfs are 3 oz, so I thought that was standard. The box is double the size of this tube, it seems like that was done on purpose to mislead customers. If I used this as my sole spf, it'd probably be gone in a week. It also doesn't reapply well on top of itself. One layer is fine, more layers throughout the day make your skin look dry, flat and lifeless. Also gives a white cast by the second layer. Additionally, it is not moisturizing. It's definitely matte, just not quite as matte as their spf 40 primer.

This sunscreen is my go to daily. It's like a tinted primer but thicker. I have completed using my first tube of the stuff and have repurchased. I use facial mist, serum and an oil free moisturizer under this sunscreen with foundation or setting powder on top of it without piling and my makeup stays on all day. My face feels moist but not sticky. Breakout free for me. Please don't discontinue

It's really greasy. I have dry (really super dry) and sensitive skin so mineral sunscreen is the best for me. This doesn't leave a white cast but good god it's super oily.

This product is very thick and I wasn't expecting that. Throughout the day, I didn't feel greasy or like it was too heavy though.

I got Cotz because it was a cruelty free option for tinted mineral sunscreen. I did my math poorly but I had thought it was comparable to drugstore costs but truthfully this isn't cost effective at all. I originally used cerave tinted and actually loved it. It was my holy grail and i preferred the light coverage it offered. This sunscreen doesn't offer any coverage and almost makes my pores showcase larger.
It's sooo thick. Its like a very heavy primer. Even heavier than supergoop primer sunscreen. I haven't used it long enough to find out if its the culprit but I broke out on places I typically don't and I'm suspecting its the sunscreen. Also- reading the reviews for this sunscreen sound like two totally different sunscreens so either it's not consistent or people are reviewing the wrong product.
I won't be purchasing this again once I use it up- I'm just hoping the winter temps make it so this is more hydrating than clogging for the rest of the month until I can use something else.

This is simply too drying and difficult to apply without inflaming skin. The formula could be good for oily skin. I have combination. They should have added more humectants for better application moisture. The tint tone is good but it's barely there. Will return.

I have tried numerous AM lotions and this is by far my favorite. I have tried CeraVe, Neutrogena, and Elta MD. They were either dried tacky, had too much white cast, or left my face orange. This one blends right in and dries within seconds.

This is the only facial sunscreen I can stand to wear in the southern heat & humidity. It contains silicone, which gives it a nice matte finish when it's dry, no greasiness, and it doesn't dry out my skin. The tint works well with my light/medium warm skintone, it's like wearing a light coverage foundation. I find it's best to use an oil cleanser to remove this one.

Very thick you can feel it on your skin all day which is fine so long as you dont put other products over it.

I have very sensitive, fair skin and needed sunscreen for everyday use. This is not it. The product goes on very dry and coverage is splotchy. It has a yellow tint to it which is unattractive.

I thought this would be a lightly hydrating sheer tint but I was totally unprepared for how thick, heavy, and hard to blend this is. Once it's dried down it's not so bad but the initial texture leaves a lot to be desired. I like the high zinc content and I like the ceramides, and I'm not saying this is a bad product. It is very smoothing and it definitely fills pores well, but the vaseline-like texture really threw me off. The color does run light so definitely would only be suitable for fair skin—not a universal tint.

I am looking for a tinted sunscreen... the color is white. Might as well just put sunscreen on my face.
Loved the Cortz red tub.. great tint and gave me best of both worlds.

By far this is one of my favorite sunscreen ever. This is perfection for my oily skin. What I like the most is that is lightly tinted so no white cast. It is just perfect ! This is 35spf so remember to re apply every two hours.

This sun protection works well under foundation but is the opposite of hydrating. My skin is dry wherever I applied this product. Poor value for the money.
Tardis from Los Angeles
I love how it feels on my face. It is like makeup primer, very smooth to apply. It is light tint, it doesn't leave color on my hands as BB cream or foundation. It gives nice and even face color when I don't feel like to wear makeup. I also like the package states it is water resistant for 80 minutes. It helps to reapply at right time for the best protection.

I use this everyday as a primer before applying foundation. It controls my oil, smooths my pores, giving my skin a velvet matte finish. I've repurchased for over a year, I can not go without this product.

The one positive is that I could not see any color on my skin. I will be returning this product, as it caused my skin to become itchy and breakout with tiny hives on my face. It is also very tacky and sticky. Eventually once it dries, you can still feel a bit of it on your skin. I had high hopes for this, being the sun bum tinted sunscreen caused major dryness. I was hoping the moisturizing factor of this sunscreen would be a better fit, but unfortunately it was not.

I have severely sensitive and damaged skin after a bad chemical peel decimated my previously flawless, normal skin 8 months ago. I have been a hardcore sunscreen fanatic for the last 5 years, reapplying every 2 hours from sun up to sun down. This is the ONLY sunscreen that does not burn my face. It adds a nice smoothing effect and the "wrinkly" side effect can be avoided by a light powder dusting after application. I'm now venturing into making my own sunscreen, since I'd like to use a product that's completely natural and without silicones. Unfortunately, that product does not exist for my ultra sensitive skin. I've spent over 100 hours researching sunscreen and this is as good as it gets. The ceramides are hydrating and the tint is perfect. If my sunscreen making endeavor falls through, I'll be coming back to this. It took me 4 months to find it and it quickly became my new HG. I'm really surprised it hasn't gotten better reviews honestly!

I got a small free sample of this and couldn't believe how great it was. I used it as a moisturizer with SPF. it smooths out over the skin and the tint is just the perfect amount to look natural. I ended up buying a full size for a Caribbean vacation and it was perfect.

I got this product in an Ulta skincare sampler set. The only pro is that it is tinted. It definitely feels "minerally" (micro sandy). 30 minutes after putting it on, doing make up, and leaving the house, I caught sight of myself in the rearview mirror. It's like any expression I made in that 30 minutes was STAMPED on my skin. 11's, smile lines, forehead lines... I'm 31. I have expression lines while I'm smiling, but they go away when I'm not. Thankfully, I just had to "smear" my make up to rub it in again. No more lines. So... I guess it never dried?
And then, within 90min, I was sunburned after errands. Look wrinkly and get wrinkly. Yikes.
I will be ordering the Mario B. sunscreen that came in the set. Dries crazy fast, no sunburns. No eczema breakouts. No acne breakouts.
